Super Street Fighter 4 match: Mago (Fei Long) vs. EG. Marn (Dudley)

GoVince and Ciry wrote in mentioning that EG.Marn (Dudley) had a really entertaining best of 5 set against Mago's Fei Long in Super Street Fighter 4 in Japan a little ways back. Note: Video has a little bit of NSFW language.

Not only is this a high level match, but it showcases two characters you don't get to see that often. Also, there's a split camera so you can see Marn's hands as he's performing those wicked Dudley combos.
If you want to go further, Marn participated in a bunch of matches, and a video archive is up over on uStream, but it's over two hours long, so there's a bit to sift through.

Community news roundup for September 30th

Community news roundup for September 30th

• An old interview Yoshinori Ono had with RevoGamers popped up recently concerning the 3DS port of SSF4. While many of the things Ono talks about in this clip have already come to pass, you get to hear a bit of the behind the scenes methodology that's going into the title and he touches on a few other topics as well, like Street Fighter Fit on the Wii. Submitted by Chris.

• Mad Catz has almost sold out of the SSF4 Tournament Edition "S" sticks. They already out of PS3 Black "S" TEs, and will not be making any more, so if this type of joystick is something you'd like to get, it'd be best to act quickly. There are still special deals available for these and Mad Catz's other line of SF4 controllers, with the offer running through Oct. 6.

• ComboVid.com has a nifty set of Street Fighter 3 Third Strike screen shots which were captured by onReload.

• Another older MvC3 interview with Ryota Niitsuma surfaced a little while ago discussing the upcoming title. This covers a lot of ground you've heard before, but if you feel like you've missed a number of details along the way, this serves as a recap.

• For you old school fans, KeikoMars has posted another Street Fighter Alpha 2 combo video, this time for Sakura.

Ono: Focus Attack system may not make it into Street Fighter X Tekken

Ono: Focus Attack system may not make it into Street Fighter X Tekken Capcom's Yoshinori Ono had an interview with EuroGamer concerning Street Fighter X Tekken, although he touches on other subjects including Darkstalkers, the 3DS version of SSF4 and other fighting game items.

Although Ono doesn't reveal anything that's going to knock your socks off, little bits of new info are spread throughout this two page piece. Here's a snip.

Eurogamer: Will the Focus attack from Street Fighter IV be in the game? Will the Ultra and Super system be in it?

Yoshinori Ono: Super combo and Ultra combo are a part of the Street Fighter genome, so we can't take that out. In terms of Focus attack, that was only there because of the Street Fighter-style mind-reading type of game. When it comes to Street Fighter X Tekken, that kind of rhythm will differ a little bit, and Focus attack may not be the most appropriate system.

So we will come up with something that probably advances the tempo and rhythm a bit more. But we have to come up with something new for that one.

Eurogamer: So the Focus attack won't be in the game?

Yoshinori Ono: Next time this year I might be saying something completely different, but for the moment we've taken Focus attack off the candidate list and we're trying to devise something new.

Juicebox podcast: Episode 5, tier lists

Juicebox podcast: Episode 5, tier lists This week's episode of Juicebox Abel's podcast deals with the topic of tier lists. Juicebox attempts to clear up some of the conceptions of what a tier list is and what it should be used for, along with some deeper thoughts on the subject.

There's a new format for the show this week, as a female guest host jumps into the fray. The runtime is about 30 minutes.

This ends up being another great listen, as Juicebox does a terrific job providing insight into the high level Street Fighter game, but not talking above the heads of his listeners. Highly recommended when you can put aside the time to listen to the whole thing.

Also, make sure you look over the Super Street Fighter 4 tier listing here on EventHubs while checking this out.

On a somewhat unrelated note, StreetFighterFanboy1 sent in this clip of Vangief (Zangief) against Juicebox (Abel) from the Peaceful Jay live stream.
