If you have $1,400 burning a hole in your pocket, this Ryu Sideshow Pop Culture Shock statue could be yours.

According to the eBay listing, this is a very hard to find 18" Ryu statue and there were only 500 of them made.

This is what to get the Street Fighter player who has everything, but of course only after you picked them up a SF snuggie and lounge pants.

YHC-Mochi vs. Mago GodsGarden Super Street Fighter 4 video and results

YHC-Mochi vs. Mago GodsGarden Super Street Fighter 4 video and results GodsGarden hosted the 2nd leg of their online Super Street Fighter 4 tournament, this bout featured YHC-Mochi (Dhalsim) against Mago (Fei Long).

Archived video from GodsGarden's uStream page is now available. For those of you who prefer YouTube, TeamSp00ky uploaded their version with English commentary.

Mago is fairly infamous for playing an outstanding Sagat in vanilla Street Fighter 4, but he recently switched over to Fei Long in Super. YHC-Mochi's Dhalsim was included over Iyo and PPN, as those two players just barely missed out on being selected for this competition by Daigo Umehara.

Killian: Seth's Ultra 2 sometimes unusual, but not bugged

Capcom's Seth Killian responded to a complaint that Seth in Super Street Fighter 4 has a buggy Ultra 2. Here's the lowdown on the issue from the Unity Boards.

I have been having issues with Seth's Ultra 2 as of late and wanted to hear what you guys would had to say on this issue, watch this video to see what I mean. — Ray

Seth Killian: It's true that there are some moderately unusual situations in most of these Ultra 2 videos but I don't see anything that looks at all like an actual bug.

Basically everything here is a function of:

1) Seth's Ultra 2 has some invulnerability at start and — like any move — changes his hittable boxes when he does it.

2) Seth's Ultra 2 moves him forward a bit.

3) Seth's Ultra 2 has some of the "vortex" effect he also has on his Tanden specials that sucks in the opponent.

Everything here can be understood in terms of these things plus the same properties on the moves of the opponents (Balrog's EX-Headbutt, Ken's Ultra 1, etc.). It's true you can get somewhat strange effects, but that's also the fun of the game — learning these ins-and-outs and realizing the animations aren't just canned, but actually depend always on where/when you do the move and what's happening with the opponent.

These are unusual situations, but definitely not bugs.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 interviews with Killian and Niitsuma

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 interviews with Killian and Niitsuma ShackNews.com conducted an interview with Seth Killian at E3 concerning Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This piece discusses some of the ins and outs of the gameplay and it's a pretty good read.

Here's a snip.

Shack: Of the playable characters we've seen so far, there's no filler. Each character is powerful. Is that the goal of the team?

Seth Killian: That was one of the explicit goals. One of the things we got brow-beat on with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was the Capcom characters weren't considered as strong as the Marvel guys. That's understandable, you've got the Hulk and Storm - who is technically a goddess - versus Ryu, who's just pretty good at karate.

But seriously, we've made a conscious effort to power up the Capcom guys, but in ways that are true to their character. That's the challenge and the team takes that very seriously. Dante is a great example. He's got all of his special moves from Devil May Cry 3, but they are in a fighting game and they totally work. If you're a fan of Dante, you can use his gauntlets, both of his guns, and all of his sword tricks with fire and ice. They are all there.

Also, Ryota Niitsuma is interviewed on Joystiq.com. This article isn't as good as the previous one, but Niitsuma alludes to the possibility of there being a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 release on the Wii.

Why no Wii version?

Niitsuma: We did have Tatsunoko vs Capcom, which did come out on Wii --

Right, which makes us wonder: Why no Wii version of Marvel vs Capcom 3?

Niitsuma: Well, with that, we felt now it's time to do a Vs game on Xbox 360 and PS3. It was just a matter of deciding we wanted to work with those consoles. There's no mindset, personally, within Capcom where we want to go out of our way to avoid Wii or do it only on Wii this time. It's just the flow of development.

So does that mean it's possible MvC3 could come to Wii at some point? It's not entirely ruled out?

Niitsuma: Well, we can't get into any specifics, but all I can is that the game we made right now, as it is, it's for Xbox 360 and PS3. We want to see how it does and maybe see where we'll take it from there.

It's worth pointing out that one of the main hurdles Capcom had to overcome with porting Street Fighter 4 to the Wii is coming up with a control scheme that would work on the the default controllers, the Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Since Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is currently much closer to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, in terms of button layout, it would seem that the game is more Wii friendly, which should open up more of a possibility for a port to Nintendo's system.

Yoshinori Ono working on getting Super Street Fighter 4 on the PC?

Yoshinori Ono working on getting Super Street Fighter 4 on the PC? Street Fighter 4 series producer, Yoshinori Ono, opened up a Twitter account recently. A couple people asked if Capcom will release Super Street Fighter 4 on the PC, and Ono responded to them below.

Ono's English isn't terrific, so it's possible things are being lost in translation, but here's what he had to say on the matter.

Please tell us if Super Street Fighter 4 is coming to the PC.

Ono: The PC version has some problems. In [Street Fighter 4], a large amount of illegal copy appeared on the market all over the world. Please Wait...

Fans who bought the PC version of Street Fighter 4 are waiting for SSF4, will it happen? If so, when?

Ono: We are solving various problems now. Time is necessary for this.

Ono's statements seem to heavily imply they're working on getting the title released on the PC, but they have some hurdles to overcome before they can get approval. While this is a far cry from confirmation that the title will be released on the PC, there appears to be hope still.

Street Fighter 4 was one of the most pirated titles of 2009, which has been mentioned a number of times as to why SSF4 may not see a PC release, but Capcom V.P., Christian Svensson, also said that the arcade release increased the chances of a PC conversion back in April, but he went on to add that the game was not in development at that time.

Translated Famitsu interview with Daigo Umehara

Translated Famitsu interview with Daigo Umehara 1Up.com translated an interview Famitsu magazine conducted with Daigo "The Beast" Umehara. He discusses his past, present and future in the fighting game community and when all is said and done, it's probably his best interview to date.

If you're at all interested in Daigo — you should read this. Here's a healthy copy and paste from the page.

Now Daigo's back in business, coming off a victory at the 2009 Evolution Championship Series' SFIV tournament. He doesn't regret the hiatus, though. "During the years I was away from fighting games, I started to look at myself more impartially, to keep my eyes on the big picture," he said. "It made me realize that fighting games aren't just about the players -- there's the developers, the media, the event promoters, all kinds of people that make the games what they are. That's what allows me to feel like I'm someone special in this field. I really owed all of them a major debt, and when I thought about how I should repay it, I realized that I needed to get more players into the genre, to show how much fun this is to more people. That's why I'm getting more active with the media now. Partly, I want people to look at me and say 'Man, look how much cred he's getting now that he's turned pro; I wish I could be like that.' The more players we can get, and the more developers we can get enthused for the genre, the better it'll be for fighting games."

The way Daigo puts it, there's nothing he'd like better than for someone else to follow in his footsteps. "Games get a lot more negative attention than sports or studying," he said. "Lots of people actively try to keep you away from them. If you really like gaming, though, then I think you need to keep going with it, even if it means having to convince your friends or family that it's worth it. If you keep worrying about what people think, then it'll feel terrible if you wind up failing at the end, right? But if you take pride in it and go all-out, then even if you fail, you'll have fun along the way and there's still something you'll get from it in the end."

Fight Clubs planned for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, demo up in the air

Fight Clubs planned for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, demo up in the air Christian Svensson made a few posts about Marvel vs. Capcom 3 recently on the Unity Boards.

He talks about how players might be able to get some hands on time with the game before it's out, and commented briefly on the character leak list rumors that were circulating through the internet.

Are you guys going to keep showing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at expos and have some Fight Clubs like you did for Street Fighter 4? Also, will we see a downloadable demo for the game?

Sven: Fight Clubs and show presence (Comic-Con, Penny Arcade Expo, etc.) are assured. There will probably be some other ways too.

As far as a downloadable demo, [that has] yet to be determined, but [the] schedule is tight so we'll see.

What do you think of all of the character leak lists that have been posted for Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

Sven: Rumors and speculation are fun. 8)
