Ono excited to show off trailer at New York Comic-Con, could it be Darkstalkers?

Ono excited to show off trailer at New York Comic-Con, could it be Darkstalkers? Yoshinori Ono posted a statement today on Twitter that could potentially be hinting at a reveal at this year's New York Comic-Con, that will be taking place on October 11 - 14, 2012. He mentions a "limited trailer" but does not quite specify what it could be.

I could make limited trailer for New York Comic-Con at last. I'm looking forward to visit to New York Comic-Con!! ;D

For some time now Capcom has been dropping small hints about a new Darkstalkers game including the "Darkstalkers are not dead" shirt in the Street Fighter X Tekken episode #2 and Ono's hint at the San Diego Comic-Con 2012.

Keep in mind that Ono works on multiple projects at Capcom, and it's entirely possible this trailer isn't fighting game related. However, with all of the hints we've received over the past couple of years, it's definitely a possibilty.

What do you think this trailer could possibly pertain to? Leave your guesses in the comments below.

IPL's DrDogg: What the fighting game community has been waiting for is definitely coming, Mike Ross lending a hand

Rachel over at CyberSportsNetwork conducted an interview with IGN Pro League's Bryan "DrDogg" Dawson at Seasons Beatings Ascension. DrDogg discusses various topics such as the difficulties of working with different game publishers, some of the stand out qualities of Dead or Alive 5 but possibly the most interesting bit of information he drops is the fact that IPL's fighting game division will be seeing some changes this year.

Although he doesn't give any specifics, DrDogg mentions that the fighting game community will be very pleased with what is to come in the future and that our very own CC|Mike Ross is on board to help out. We can expect to hear some announcements later in the year.

Viscant: New players should start with Magneto, Dr. Doom and Sentinel, three strong assists and flexible

Viscant: New players should start with Magneto, Dr. Doom and Sentinel, three strong assists and flexible The guys over at BrokenTier have done a new post for Viscant's Mailbag. In today's post fans ask about Zero, team structure when teaching someone Marvel and dreams of Celine Dion and Felicia day.

Hit the jump to see more.

For teaching a friend of mine AE, I took the approach with him of "Regardless of what character you like best, I'm teaching you to play Ryu until you're comfortable with the game, and we can move onto other chars later", because Ryu is such a good beginner character. Have you got a similar sort of advice to get a non-Marvel player started? - David Sheehan

For Marvel my advice is to start with Magneto-A/Doom-B/Sentinel-A. Most people would tell a beginner to start with something different like a Wesker based team where you can learn everything right away and win a little bit while you learn. I don’t agree. I think that as long as the person is committed to learning the game they should bite off as much as they can chew.

With Magneto/Doom/Sentinel you have a team that has 3 strong assists and a team that has both flexibility and rigidity. The team is flexible in that you can play many different styles. You can zone with Magneto and Doom or you can attack hard behind Sentinel assist. You can play a more air based game behind magnetic blasts or photons or you can play a ground based game around EM Disruptors, plasma beams or missiles. You might find you really like Sentinel assist. You might find you don’t need it that much because Doom missiles fits your play style so much better. You might find you really like changing the team order and putting Magneto in the back. Or maybe you’ll like Doom in back. Lots of options here.

Capcom looking for fan feedback for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins

Capcom looking for fan feedback for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins Over on Capcom-Unity, Derek, is asking for fan feedback for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. In the past Capcom has mentioned they keep an eye on various resources and players in the community for feedback, but now is your time to contact them directly with all of your positive or negative feedback.

Hit the link below to check out more.

After the successful launch of MvCO, we've been overjoyed to see the positive reviews and great consumer feedback. The netcode in particular has been getting a lot of attention, with one reviewer going so far as to say that MvCO has "the best netcode of any fighting game to date." Wow, what a compliment!

Obviously, we've made some improvements to the netcode since Third Strike. But just because we've made some improvements doesn't mean we're done. That's why, in the interest of making future fighting games even better, I'm issuing an official call for feedback! Anyone who wants it now has a direct line to the Producer of this game, so write in and tell me what you think. More details past the jump!

1) Testimonials. If you enjoyed the netcode, or just the game in general, then write in to let us know! I can take this kind of positive feedback to our senior executives, to make the case that we're heading in the right direction and should be using this kind of technology even more.

MadKOF: King of Fighters scene is getting smaller, might give up and go back to real life

MadKOF: King of Fighters scene is getting smaller, might give up and go back to real life After CafeID|MadKOF won King of Fighters 13 at Seasons Beatings Ascension, he did a short interview. While it was in Korean, an EventHubs member Geese gave us a quick quote from CafeID|Koogle who did the initial translation during the stream of one of thing things he said. In particular how the King of Fighters scene is diminishing.

King of Fighters scene in Korea gets smaller everyday, so he may have to give up playing King of Fighters and go back to real life.

This is fairly big as MadKOF is considered the best King of Fighters player as he has won both Evolution 2012 and now Seasons Beatings Ascension.

Thanos, Thor, Iron Man, Ryu, Lou & Siva Marvel vs. Capcom Origins character profiles

Capcom and Marvel have once again updated their blogs with new character profiles for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. In today's set they discuss Thanos, Thor, Iron Man, Ryu and Lou & Siva.

Thanos

First Appearance: IRON MAN (1968) #55
“MvC Origins” Appearances: Playable character in “Marvel Super Heroes"

Bio: Thanos of Titan, a monstrous megalomaniac from beyond the stars, lives only to impress Mistress Death. He destroyed millions of people on his home planet of Titan to prove his love, and collected the Infinity Gems--Mind, Power, Reality, Soul, Space, and Time--to create the Infinity Gauntlet, which made him omnipotent. He then used his vast powers to destroy half the living beings in the universe. Luckily a collection of heroes have always managed to defeat him, counteract his schemes, and get rid of that pesky gauntlet. Thanos remains one of the most deadly villains in all of this reality.

Where He Was in 1995: Still smarting after of his defeat in the Infinity Saga, Thanos kept to himself somewhere in the blackness of space, no doubt plotting his violent return to power.
