Blog shows PS3 version of Dead or Alive 5 has an additional frame of input latency

A Japanese blog did several comparisons of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Dead or Alive 5. They do a standard visual analysis, which shows the versions are nearly identical, but things get a bit more interesting when they compare the input delay between the two systems, with the PS3 port being about 1 frame slower when it comes to registering inputs.
Dead or Alive 4 also appears to have less input delay, showing that it's about 1 or 2 frames faster than it's sequel when it comes to inputs.

Qanba took the veil off a new line of joysticks titled the Q1 "cut". Built with the standard Sanwa parts, these sticks also offer a desk clamp to keep it stable while you're gaming.

Priced at about $136 USD, this product is for the PS3/PC. The fixtures are said to hold up to about 80lbs, and the stick itself weighs about 5lbs. It also has non-slip pads on the bottom surface to keep it from moving around as well.

Svensson: No more fighting games released by Capcom for rest of 2012 - Announcements? No comment

Svensson: No more fighting games released by Capcom for rest of 2012 - Announcements? No comment Capcom's Christian Svensson confirmed that they will not be releasing any more fighters in this calendar year, but he made a strong distinction between a release of a title and an announcement — underlining specific words in his message to avoid confusion, via the Unity Boards.

Rafa: Can PC players expect any announcement of a fighting game release still in 2012?

Svensson: Announced for PC (more to follow at a later date):
RE6
LP3
DmC
Remember Me

I can say there are no planned releases for fighting titles in the remainder of the calendar year. Marvel vs. Capcom Origins was the last fighting game release for this particular year on any platform. Beyond that, I'm not able to comment about announcements of fighting games on any platforms at this time. Sorry.

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono recently said that he was excited to show off a new trailer for something he's working on at New York Comic-Con, which is taking place on October 11 - 14, 2012.

Current speculation is that this is a new Darkstalkers title, as has been hinted at on multiple occasions.

Reading between the lines a bit here, Svensson was careful to not rule out an announcement of a fighting game from Capcom in this calendar year, so it's entirely possible we'll be hearing something about a new fighter from them before 2012 is up.

Stage selection as important as character choice in Injustice: Gods Among Us, says Boon

Stage selection as important as character choice in Injustice: Gods Among Us, says Boon The stage you choose to fight on will be just as important as the character you select in Injustice: Gods Among Us, according to NetherRealm Studios co-founder, Ed Boon.

While stages in fighting games tend to be backgrounds that players cannot interact with, Boon stated that every arena will have its own unique elements and different characters will have their own ways of interacting with them. Stages will also take damage over time, which will open up other possibilities for beating up the opponent, like launching them into electrical wiring or other such hazards.

Some arenas will have one level, while others will have up to three, that you can be knocked into while fighting. Boon added that, "Our goal was to do something with the gameplay that is a dramatic departure from the existing stuff."

If this game is picked up and played regularly at the competitive level, it will be interesting to see what rules are adopted to make stage selection fair for both competitors, whether it's using the title's built in options for this (if they exist), or something specifically for a tournament setting.
