MODOK player throws down in Japanese Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament

MODOK is still a pretty rare character to see played in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but in a recent tournament held in Japan, someone put him to good use. There's a strong mix of offense and defense here, plus you get to see this MODOK, Storm, Tron Bonne squad go up against various teams, which is nice.

Sven: We didn't redraw or add characters to Street Fighter 3 3s Online Edition

Sven: We didn't redraw or add characters to Street Fighter 3 3s Online Edition The community talked a lot about what changes would be in store for Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition when it was revealed that the game has the highest budget for any of Capcom's digital titles to date, including Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix.

Many thought this would mean the characters would be redrawn, but Capcom's Christian Svensson threw a wrench in those thoughts today on the Unity Boards stating outright that it wasn't the case, while also reiterating that there are no additional fighters being added to the game, either.

They had previously said that fans of the series will wet themselves though when they find out. So what do you think is being added to the game? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Why should we get Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition if there's not going to be any meaningful changes to the game, besides just an updated look and improved online features? — Ryu2680

Svensson: I'll start with the obvious...

It's a classic that you can't play on an HD system today or online anywhere else (legally).

That fact alone has a ton of value.

That said, there are other answers to the question that would cause me to give away details that won't be revealed until a few weeks from now.

The gameplay is unchanged... and we didn't redraw or add characters. But that doesn't mean there aren't a load of considerations that fans will find of value. You're just going to have to wait and see. Sorry I'm being so vague.

The power of Ibuki's Raida (command grab) in Super Street Fighter 4

Showcasing some of the tricks Ibuki can pull off with her Raida (command grab) in Super Street Fighter 4, Mikadok and HexElf crafted the clip above and wrote out this explanation.

Ibuki's Raida is a command grab but it isn't like other command grabs. Much like in the King of Fighters series, this is a hit-throw, which means that it can be guarded against. However, being an attack throw, this gives it properties that other command grabs don't have - such as being able to hit characters from much further away and even grab them out of the air. This allows Ibuki to pull in opponents from situations where no one else could. This is just a few examples of what it can do.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Misc. v1.01 + 1.03 patch changes from Desk

Desk left this note in the video description.

Chipping away at the comprehensive change list that will never, ever be complete. This isn't a glitch showcase, rather a look at some changes that have not yet been documented.

Basically a few, little known glitches that were apparently patched out in v1.01 & 1.03 respectively. I'm guessing that there's actually a ton of stuff in v1.00 that will forever remain undiscovered.

Feel free to try these out for yourself. It is possible (as with the Spencer glitch) that they were simply changed or made more difficult rather than completely removed but all of my testing leads me to believe that they're gone.

Report: Street Fighter X Tekken released before April 2012, 2 million in sales

Report: Street Fighter X Tekken released before April 2012, 2 million in sales According to a financial report (.pdf) Capcom put out, Street Fighter X Tekken will be released before the 2011 fiscal year ends, which is March 31, 2012.

The game is expected to sell 2 million copies, which was the same number of units Marvel vs. Capcom 3 ended up moving.

The other item of note is that Capcom plans to "Increase the number of home video games with DLC," and they will, "Provide downloadable content for all major titles for home video consoles." Street Fighter X Tekken should definitely fall into the category of a major title, so users can expect DLC in the future, after it is released.
