@3 One reason for it is that if you say something outright, it can be construed as a full statement of intent and can lead to misunderstandings. Part of being vague is being able to give away information without making anything solid that you can later be quoted on. That said, I'd still prefer them to be more transparent than give vague statements to save their own backsides.

@8 There's a huge difference in modding skins and altering movesets and uprooting the current netcode in favour of GGPO. It's not impossible, but it certainly won't happen any time soon, if only due to a lack of interest in the PC version of SSFIV

@6 it's popularity and use in game trailers, montages, etc. is a flavour of the year/month type of fad. It'll fall out of mainstream popularity, eventually. This is coming from someone who used to go to see people like Skream, Rusko, Benga, Caspa, etc. in intimate gigs (with only around 100 people, tops) 4-6 years ago and the genre does get hella tired and boring after a few years of listening to the same noise.
