It wasn't a random grab. It's a regular trick to build meter by whiffing it from full-screen. Mike Ross just didn't know/didn't think Makoto would actually have something to catch him with.

Street Fighter does have 1-frame links but not every link is one frame tight and Tekken definitely has 1-framers and other tight inputs as well. Just wanted to clear that up. RPGsFTW, no Guilty Gear matches were recorded but there was like only 3-4 teams for the whole tournament. Kinda like there was only 3 people showing up for KOF12. So they didn't bother recording those. I think it's a pity too, would've liked to see them regardles. As for the tournament as a whole it was simply awesome. A lot of nail-biting matches in every game. Especially liked the finals in SC4, T6 and SSF4. ...
