Capcom blames fighting game market saturation for Street Fighter X Tekken's sluggish sales
The market wasn't "saturated" until Capcom came along. VF5, Tekken, and KOF have been producing regularly for years, and Blazblue is taking the place of Guilty Gear in terms of sales. Capcom has the advantage of selling an iconic franchise, so they have no excuses and it's their own fault for failing.

Kim1234 makes interesting points. I wonder if people saying he's generalizing, etc. really paid attention to the podcast. He's not saying there are no players there, he's saying it's a very closed, maybe elitist community. Like he said, the word "gaijin" alone tells you the kind of stigma that foreigners get in Japan. Japan has a very socially conservative society.

@2 Jeff Schaeffer is a former top player back in OG Street Fighter II. He had a long set with Daigo back in Evo 2004 for Hyper Street Fighter II.

@14 What are you talking about? Have you even played any other fighting games? Any given Capcom fighting game only has about half the game modes as nearly every other fighter out there.
