At YOUONE (#8), I too wonder how gamers will make it through post their youth... Other than the enjoyment of playing games, how does one support a lifestyle thats more than just food on the table? There are so many competitive gamers vying for so little in prize money - there is no incentive to do this as a career.

Another good pay day for JWong...He won the daily double (Marvel and SSFIV) at Devastation this year as well... Wonder whether the pay is anything decent... Noticably, Socal and Devastation didn't have your regular Japanese players...Perhaps its getting to expensive to jet around so often.

According to the link below, he's offered 100 USD for each character (i.e. all up, 600 USD), as opposed to what has been quoted by the source used by Catalyst. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com.au/interest/2011-10-17/street-fighter-akiman-asked-to-design-6-characters-for-us$100-each I agree - a low blow by the mag, kicking a dude when he's going through less than better times.
