Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.
We have gathered quotes from Justin Wong, ChrisG, MarkMan (Mad Catz) and Victor Fontanez (Team Spooky) into the story here so you can see what is being discussed and offer your thoughts on the subject as well.
After Justin Wong and ChrisG played their first match of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 grand finals at Texas Showdown by random selecting their teams, they posted the following statements on their respective Twitter accounts. Note: After the first match, both competitors played their main teams, and the random select match apparently did not count towards the outcome of the tournament.
Sorry guys.. I know you didn't like the first match but I did play with all my might after that first match. I promise it won't happen again

The Ask Capcom forums continue their activity fielding numerous questions from readers. One user recently addressed the topic of story modes in Capcom fighting titles and their lack there of. The strategic marketing group here has for quite a while been pushing for our fighting franchises to have more and better single player content, of which full fledged story modes are one component.
How and when those requirements manifest in our future roadmap, I'm not prepared to speak about at this time.

We had the chance to speak with Empire Arcadia's Emmanuel "CD Jr." Brito to get his thoughts on the upcoming release of Injustice: Gods Among Us.EventHubs: You're regarded as one of the best Mortal Kombat 9 players around, how strong do you think you'll be in Injustice: Gods Among Us?
Emmanuel "EMP|CD Jr." BritoWell: It all depends on how much I end up loving the game. I am so good in Mortal Kombat because of how passionate I am about the game, and how much love I have for MK in general.
I am the type of player that if I don't REALLY like a game I won't be able really good at it, because I don't really care for it. I can play it, and be competitive, but won't try to excel at it. That is a why I'm not good at Street Fighter 4, I don't have love for the game. I know some pro players that play Marvel because of the money, and because it is the most popular game out right now, I can't do that.
EventHubs: How did you help NetherRealm Studios adjust Injustice while you were play testing the game? Were there any specific things that stood out to you during this process?
EMP|CD Jr.: We (the testers) were basically trying to find bugs, glitches, infinites, and giving opinions about the game, like what we think should change or stay, which characters we thought were too strong or too weak, which moves needed to be toned down or buffed, stuff like that.
What I really liked about testing Injustice: Gods Among Us was how the developers acted towards us when we were there, like they would tell us not to keep any opinions to ourselves and to always tell or ask them for any info about the game. They were all really nice to us.
As always, if you want to offer up suggestions on changes to these characters, make sure you head on over to Capcom Unity.
If you want to go further, make sure you scope out our move listings for the game, which will be updated with even more information soon.
We have two great events coming up this weekend; Texas Showdown Championships on April 12 - 14 in Houston and Spring Fighter 2013 on April 13 in New York. Many games will be played at these events including Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 and much more. Updated: Blizzard has clarified that they have "no plans to continue operation of the IPL business," and that existing staff members will help form a new team who's primary focus will be on creating high-quality web and mobile content in support of Blizzard games. Other IPL staff members will join Blizzard’s existing eSports team. Following today’s news, IGN will partner with multiple eSports organizations to cover their events in the future rather than focusing on a few key titles.
GameSpot's Rod Breslau confirmed that Mike Ross would not be joining IPL again once Blizzard gets everything up and going.

If you're hoping for more fighting game re-releases from Capcom, you may not want to hold your breath, as Christian Svensson said the novelty of these types of titles seems to be wearing off and they've noticed a drop off in sales of their last two releases.Gohan16ken: Capcom has been struggling with digital re-releases or at least not managing it well. Therefore, Capcom should talk to Sega and SNK. Both Sega and SNK have re-released several of their past games from Sega Genesis and Neo Geo onto the Virtual Console, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live with improved graphics and online play (at least with the latter two). Yet, Capcom is saying it is not possible due to licensing and additional development work needed.
Svensson: Let me be more clear.
There are multiple paths that are being pursued here.
1. Rerelease of PS1, PS2 and PSP ISOs on PSN. There are three filters that must be passed in order for this to happen. First, Sony has to verify that the title in question works in their emulators (not all do). Second, all IP clearances must be had. That is to say, we must have digital distribution rights in the original agreements with middleware, voice actors, musical score, etc. Third, there must be an existing licence in force in the case of something that uses non-Capcom IP (e.g. SNK, Marvel, Xmen) and also no legacy IP issues. At times in the past teams have infringed upon other third party IP and new IP sweeps must be conducted to ensure that this is not the case in a given version. Once all three points are met, Sony takes control and it is up to them when and how it releases (though they do coordinate with us).
