Updated: Omega Mode is meant to be fun, not balanced; update v1.04 inbound, fixes unintentional nerfs and PC online issues

Updated: Combofiend posted his latest blog entry over on Capcom Unity which divulges more information on the upcoming Omega Mode in Ultra Street Fighter 4. According to the Capcom representative, this new mode has a much heavier emphasis on fun than it does balance. The development team mainly focused on making all 44 characters feel new.

The upcoming game mode will be playable online, but only in an non-ranked setting. We can expect more information on Omega Mode as it surfaces.

This blog entry also states that a new patch is heading our way in October. The v1.04 update will fix the unintentional nerfs made to Decapre, Rolento, and Cody in the previous update, and will also add a Delayed Wake Up option to training mode. Additionally, a number of PC online connectivity issue fixes are being made, such as players receiving pings mid-match, causing slowdown.

A full breakdown for the v1.04 patch will be unveiled closer to the update's release.

Earlier: Over at Tokyo Game Show 2014 tonight, Capcom announced a new game mode set to be added to Ultra Street Fighter 4. This fresh content is called "Omega Mode."

In Omega Mode, characters gain access to a wide array of new, crazy special moves and changes. Ken can shoot fireballs from a kick special move, Guile throws three Sonic Booms in succession for 7 hits, and much more.

Capcom working on fix for Steam multiplayer issues; private Endless lobbies are unaffected and playable in Ultra Street Fighter 4 PC

Since the PC version of Ultra Street Fighter 4 was released on Steam earlier this week, there has been many reports of users experiencing a number of issues with the game.

Most notably, many USF4 PC players have claimed that the online modes are virtually unplayable at the moment, due to severe latency issues.

Capcom is aware of the issues, and they're currently working on a fix to root out the problems, the official Capcom Fighters Twitter account announced yesterday.

Stream directory no longer lists non-fighting games, additional improvements may be on the way

Josh 'TheUncharted' Kapple made a nifty improvement to our live stream directory based on some of the new features Twitch has made available to developers.

Now, for a streamer to show up in our live listing, they need to be streaming a game that's approved by our team — e.g. an actual fighting game.

If a streamer who normally hosts fighting games decides to stream a bit of Call of Duty, they'll no longer show up in our listing for the time they're running that game.

As soon as they start streaming a fighting game, they'll show up again, though.

We're also looking at adding a few more bells and whistles to our stream directory in the very near future, so please keep checking back.

After the jump you'll find a list of games our stream directory supports, and if we missed anything you think should be included, please leave a comment below explaining why.

Daigo on his losses to John Choi, Filipino Champ: 'It wasn't because I let my guard down or anything like that; they were just really good'

On this week's episode of Topanga TV, MCZ|Daigo appeared on the show as a guest in part to promote the new manga series based on his life that's currently being serialized in the Weekly Georgia free-to-read smartphone app.

While on the stream, the Mad Catz-sponsored pro chatted with MCZ|Tokido, MCZ|Mago and EG|Momochi on a number of subjects, including what he thought were the reasons behind his losses to RG|Filipino Champ and John Choi at EVO this year.

"With the Dhalsim match-up, there were problems with it that I was still quite uncertain about," the 33-year-old said.

Two new Fire Emblem characters join Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, Captain Falcon also jumps into the fray

Update: Official screenshots have been added for Robin, Lucina and Captain Falcon.

Update 2: It appears on further reflection that Chrom, from Fire Emblem: Awakening, may just be part of Robin's Final Smash and not actually a playable character.

Nintendo foreshadowed a few days ago that they would reveal a new character for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game today, and the video was just released for the enigmatic newcomer.

The new characters are none other than a whopping three new Fire Emblem characters, Robin, Chrom and Lucina, who are all from the latest installment, Fire Emblem: Awakening. The trailer also shows fan favourite F-Zero franchise main character, Captain Falcon, make a triumphant return to the scene.

Tekken 7 officially announced, trailer may show Kazuya's mom and Devil Jin

At EVO 2014, Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada, officially said Tekken 7 is in development, confirming the leak that happened earlier in the day.

Harada showed a short teaser trailer for the game and that more information would be coming July 25, 2014, at San Diego Comic-Con.

The trailer opens with with a view of Heihachi's residence (subsequently Jin's in Tekken 5), the Mishima estate, and shows a woman named Kazumi, who's heavily implied to be Kazuya's mother/Heihachi's lover.

What's even more curious about Harada's announcement is that Tekken 7 was not originally going to be the game he was planning to reveal today.

The Tekken series producer and game director suggested that the original plan was to reveal one of the other unannounced titles he had been working on, but that since the news about Tekken 7 had been leaked, he had to change it to this one.

Harada also said that he did not have a trailer prepared for Tekken 7, and had to run back to his hotel to prepare something from the footage he had this very morning, when he woke up to news of the leak.

You can view the trailer for yourself below.

Tekken 7 info leaked ahead of Harada's EVO Sunday announcement; will be powered by Unreal Engine 4

Tekken 7 is coming, a leaked IGN news video has unveiled ahead of Tekken Project development team lead Katsuhiro Harada's announcement later today at EVO 2014.

Combofiend: Ultra Street Fighter 4 balancing isn't finished, cites issues with Yun, Seth & Dee Jay - Edition Select coming online via update

There's an update to Ultra Street Fighter 4 in the works, but it may just address hit box issues and bugs that have been discovered.

During a panel at EVO 2014, Capcom's Peter "Combofiend" Rosas reportedly said balance work isn't finished yet on the game, specifically citing issues with Yun, Seth and Dee Jay.

Despite these statements, it's not confirmed that another balance patch will be available for USF4, once again, outside of fixing bugs and hit box problems.

In positive news though, Edition Select, which lets you select any version of the characters from the SF4 series will be making its way online.

Also, the option to make the training dummy perform a delayed wake up will also be added into the game, via a future update.
