Tekken X Street Fighter possibly making its appearance on next-gen consoles, reason for lack of details since initial announcement

A few years back when Street Fighter X Tekken was first announced, we heard that Namco would be making their own version of the cross over entitled Tekken X Street Fighter. Since then, very few details and little information has been divulged about the title.

Harada sent out a Tweet earlier this morning stating that they are "considering platform strategy" and because of that, Namco has not revealed much of anything about the game.

Harada: It is more relevant to get Tekken X Street Fighter out on current-generation of consoles Wonder how far along out Tekken X Street Fighter is? Well it might not be as long as you might think, Kasuhiro Harada told Euro Gamer that they are still planning on the release being for the current consoles Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"There's still a large number of players out there with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 who are looking forward to the game," Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada explained. "So we feel it's probably more relevant to get the title out to them on the current hardware."

"We're not completely sure," he continued, "but that's the direction at this moment."

Updated: Harada says Tekken X Street Fighter 'leaked images' are from Tekken Tag Tournament 2 costume mode

Updated: Harada responded to the supposedly leaked images of Tekken X Street Fighter on Twitter, noting that the pictures are in fact showing a costume customize mode in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Harada: lol not Tekken X Street Fighter. It's just Tekken Tag Tournament 2 costume customize mode (arcade debug ver). Anyone can do it.

Earlier: Tekken Nation managed to capture images that were uploaded to Yfrog by Namco Tekken Project game designer, Michael Murray.

The screenshots are similar to what was seen earlier with the Tekken team showing off Heihachi doing a Shoryuken.

Bob is wearing Ken's outfit, Ganryu is wearing Ryu's outfit and it appears to be Heihachi who is wearing Akuma's outfit similar in style to the Swap Costumes in Street Fighter X Tekken.

Harada responds to concerns that Tekken Tag Tournament 2's solo mode is too powerful - more gameplay footage

Harada responds to concerns that Tekken Tag Tournament 2's solo mode is too powerful - more gameplay footage A number of people have mentioned that Tekken Tag Tournament 2's solo mode seems too powerful, and Namco Bandai's Katsuhiro Harada recently hopped on Twitter to address those concerns.

Some people have been saying 1v2 is unbalanced, that a single character is too strong. — 3LON

Harada: No. If you are best of the best TAG player... you can beat the best of the best Single (solo) player.

How about Ingrid as the final boss in Tekken X Street Fighter? — 2_cody31

Harada: No good. I think almost all 'non-core Street Fighter X Tekken player' will say, "Huh? Who?"

After the jump you can scope out new gameplay footage of the title from Level Up Your Game, as Rip runs through the arcade mode against the CPU with Law and Paul. Note that Paul's Phoenix Smasher does a lot of damage whilst in solo mode with rage activated.

Tekken X Street Fighter character polls will not determine final roster, will be point of reference for team

Tekken X Street Fighter character polls will not determine final roster, will be point of reference for team Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada recently stated over Twitter that the results from the Tekken X Street Fighter character polls will not guarantee a spot in Namco's version of the upcoming cross over fighter.

According to Harada, there were some recent false reports claiming that this character poll would decide which characters showed up in the game.

Here's a bit of Harada's post.

The outcome of this poll is not guaranteed to directly determine which characters will be implemented in the game. It is one source of reference which the Tekken development team will use in deciding the character lineup.

There were some false reports previously stating that this poll will decide which characters will appear in-game, but that is incorrect.

A favorable outcome for a certain character in the poll doesn’t guarantee a place in the game. It may also be the case that a character that don’t show strong results in the poll will possibly be implemented in the game. Various other marketing research methods, in various regions, will be used in conjunction with this poll to help determine the character lineup. Please keep this in mind when participating in this poll.

Voting for Tekken X Street Fighter's roster begins

Voting for Tekken X Street Fighter's roster begins Voting for Tekken X Street Fighter's roster has opened up on the official Tekken Facebook page. The Tekken page has 55 characters and the Street Fighter side has 66 people you can choose from.

You can vote for up to 5 characters on each side to appear in the upcoming title, created by Namco. There is a somewhat discouraging note attached to the page though, as they say this poll doesn't guarantee or determine which characters will be implemented into the game.

There are some interesting choices on the Street Fighter side of things, as Capt. Sawada, of Street Fighter The Movie fame, is an option. After you vote, you can look at the current results.

Ono interested in Street Fighter crossover with Mortal Kombat

Ono interested in Street Fighter crossover with Mortal Kombat A Street Fighter crossover with Mortal Kombat is something fans have been asking about for a long time, and recently Yoshinori Ono confirmed his interest on Twitter. Ono added that it would be difficult to do, though. He also talked about a Marvel vs. DC title he talked about in the past, but said making it would be "impossible."

Christian Svensson and Seth Killian also jumped in to update users on the PC release of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 and respond to a query regarding if you can disable the glow of gems in Street Fighter X Tekken, among other topics.

Will we ever see a Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter? It's a cross over we've always hoped for. — DanDaveTaylor

Ono: Ummm, it's so hard. But I have interest in it ;D

Will there be another status update for PC SSF4 AE v2012? — Eternal

Svensson: I suspect the next update will be when it clears quality assurance and we begin the propping process, which is still a couple weeks away.

Harada: Considering 1 vs 1.

Will Street Fighter characters run on a 6 button or 4 button control scheme? - WingedAngelPit

Harada: I'll test 6 button system.

What would you like to see from Tekken X Street Fighter when it comes to gameplay systems and their respective configurations?
