Stealth change to Bryan in Street Fighter X Tekken's Cross Play patch

Stealth change to Bryan in Street Fighter X Tekken's Cross Play patch It seems with the Street Fighter X Tekken patch on PlayStation Network that enables Cross Play between the PS Vita and the PlayStation 3, that a few stealth changes has been made to the game.

KeithVanHorn from the GameFAQs forums initially noticed that Bryan can no longer connect a standing HP into a HP Fisherman's Slam when the opponent is in the air. This claim has been backed by a few other members since the initial post on the forums.

Have you noticed any other changes since the patch came out earlier this week? Let us know in the comment section below.

Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 - Meter gain buffs meant to promote 'more hitting and less whiffing', patch not releasing until after SF 25th ann. finals

Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 - Meter gain buffs meant to promote 'more hitting and less whiffing', patch not releasing until after SF 25th ann. finals Capcom UK's Street Fighter X Tekken community manager Dawgtanian has been actively dropping various bits of information on our recent Street Fighter X Tekken change log story. Among the comments he gives us a few mentionable facts such as the meter gain buffs that are being added to attacks that successfully connect are meant to promote more offensive play and the 2013 patch will not be released until after the Street Fighter 25th anniversary finals are complete to keep the playing field fair.

Below you can check out more information on Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 from Dawgtanian.

Although it might look like only meter gain nerfs have occurred, you'll notice that meter gain BUFFS have been included for when the move connects. This promotes more hitting, and less whiffing (running away/time outs).

We won't be releasing the patch until after the finals, as not to create an unfair playing field. The game still shows huge potential in it's current state, you only have to watch Tokido vs Gamerbee to see that.

If we were to overly nerf one particular character whilst leaving the rest untouched, you'd have a reason to be upset. However it's clear to see that everyone received nerfs in some form or another, mostly in the form of specials/boost chains being more punishable on block (less block stun/push back).

These changes affect the entire game, because they are being applied across the entire roster, not just one or two characters. We're encouraging a more offensive play style, where you are rewarded for landing hits, and hit confirming rather than spamming boost combos all day and running down the clock, something I think we can all agree was not very enjoyable to watch or play.

Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 patch notes part 1 - Street Fighter cast members

Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 patch notes part 1 - Street Fighter cast members Updated: A note from Dawgtanian, Street Fighter X Tekken's UK community manager, has been added into the story and all of the changelogs have been finalized.

A new blog covering changes made in Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 to the Street Fighter portion of the cast was just posted.

This has details for Ryu, Ken, Guile, Abel, Chun-Li, Cammy, Sagat, Dhalsim, Poison, Hugo, Ibuki, Rolento, Zangief, Rufus, Vega, Balrog, Juri, M. Bison, Akuma, Sakura, Blank, Guy, Cody, Elena and Dudley.

The blog also notes that the Tekken cast will be detailed in a blog in the next few days. Here is Dawgtanian's note about the changes. Hit the jump to check out the rest and the full list of changes.

There are quite a lot of changes to meter building in particular.
This is to tackle the issue of players being able to charge attack dash cancel which allowed them to build meter whilst running down the clock.

However you will notice many attacks build MORE meter than previously, but only when the move connects with the opponent. This not only encourages more offensive strategies, but also offers less of a reward for those trying to run down the clock, a style of play which players complained was dominating the game and causing too many time out situations. In some instances the meter gain is nearly doubled on hit!

Coupled with the already announced change to how quickly health regenerates, players should see a significant drop in the number of time-outs occurring.
