Gravity Rush landed on PlayStation Vita earlier this year, introducing us to Kat. Her tremendous gravity powers, combined with a really charming personality made her an instant fan favorite, and thus an obvious candidate for PlayStation All-Stars. When looking at Kat’s play style in Gravity Rush two things immediately stood out to us: her reliance on aerial mobility and her arsenal of powerful kick-based attacks. We felt it was important to use these two elements as the cornerstone of Kat’s play style, and as such, her move set in PlayStation All-Stars makes liberal use of both.
For example, Kat doesn’t have a double jump! Instead, she relies on her Gravity Dash, an eight-direction mini-flight mode to move through the air. This cancellable move affords Kat an unprecedented degree of air mobility and attack potential

Eurogamer conducted a very intricate interview with Sony Santa Monica's Seth Killian recently with the primary focus being Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Killian talks on many different topics including his history with Capcom and the migration to Sony Santa Monica, how he feels if a new fighting game is released that doesn't incorporate a player's skill set of their favorite fighting games, they may not approve of it right away and more. “If I'm quite good at Arcade Edition 2012 and Street Fighter 5 comes out and it doesn't play exactly like Street Fighter 4 or it doesn't reward the skills I've built in, I will be thumbs down about it or inherently resistant to it. I have a literal investment. Obviously there's the cost of the game, but there's thousands of hours I've spent practising to be really good at this game and really mastering the details of it.
“So when something comes out that potentially doesn't reward my exact skill set, I'm going to be reticent and resistent to it. It's hard to get past that and appreciate the value of what's new. If a new game comes out and everybody likes it, and they're like, ah yeah, Street Fighter 4, that's the old stuff, no-one cares about that old man! You're like, oh, my investment. It's now worth that much less.

Sony Santa Monica's Seth Killian recently divulged 10 tips on how to improve your gameplay in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. These tips focus on various areas including how to play effectively in free-for-all, how to build AP quickly, tips on taking out the final boss and more. 5. How to survive on All-Star difficulty
Besting arcade mode on the All-Star difficulty is tough like a tattooed diamond – and to crack that particular nut you’ll need to master the art of eliminating multiple foes at once. ‘If you’re judicious with your level 1 specials and are able to take out 1, sometimes 2, maybe 3 opponents,’ Killian suggests. ‘Pay attention to your moves and try to maximise your AP.’ This means short, snappy combos that you can quickly duck out of if another opponent approaches from behind. Make frequent use of evade, and be sure your specials are going to hit before you execute them.
6. Look after the environment
Often the arena itself will slam down an attack – Hades is a constant menace in God of War’s ‘Underworld’ stage for example, while Metal Gear Ray can make an appearance with stinger missiles locked and loaded. ‘Using the arena is absolutely critical. All the characters doing things will give you big cues – Hades will wind up as if he’s going to strike down, and it’s also consistent every time. With a little experience you’ll get the hang of when Hades is about to attack, and be ready to avoid that.’ Not only can you avoid the damage yourself, but shoving opponents into the line of fire can be a great tactic.

Push Square recently conducted an interview with Sony Santa Monica's Seth Killian to discuss some of the upcoming Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale DLC. According to Killian, Kat from Gravity Rush will retain some very unique movement capabilities and at her current stage of development, is not quite working as intended. “As for Kat, well, she’s kind of broken right now,” the lead game designer told us. “Again, these [DLC] characters are very early. They’re just sort of mock-ups that still look like other characters. They’ve got bits of other protagonists still stuck on them that we have to rework in order to get them properly finished.”
Assuming the design doesn’t change prior to release, Killian added that the character will feature lots of crazy movement options, and the ability to adapt physics. “Obviously, she’s immune from gravity, and she’ll have the opportunity to exploit that in battle," he said. "She’s got a lot of great combos already actually.”
Seth also added that at this point in time there are no announcements on the Crash Bandicoot front.
