Junpei and Yukari confirmed as playable in upcoming Persona 4 Arena update

An update to Persona 4 Arena was announced earlier today and will see it's first location test in Japan this weekend. This new installment has a new user interface and more importantly, adds Junpei and Yukari as playable characters.

Another interesting note is the addition of "Shadow" versions of every character. Not much is known about these differences, but top player Stunedge has confirmed the Shadow characters do not have bursts.

The location test is scheduled to begin on August 16 and last up through August 18. Check out a few screens below and hit the jump for even more images.

ChrisG, KDZ, MarlinPie, CD Jr., Flux, Sanford Kelly, RayRay, Hiro, Rico Suave, Masta CJ, JRosa and more Summer Jam VII will be taking place this weekend, on August 17th-18th in Philadelphia, PA, and will be featuring loads of games, including Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Street Fighter X Tekken v2013, King of Fighters 13, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and many more.

As for players attending, names like AGE|NYChrisG, EMP|KDZ, BT|MarlinPie, EMP|CD Jr., MH|Flux, EMP|Sanford Kelly, MH|RayRay, EMP|Hiro, RG|Rico Suave, RG|MastaCJ and more will be present at the event.

This weekend, VxG 2013 is taking place on the island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean, and will feature a number of noteworthy players battling it out in lots of different titles. The titles set to be played at the event are Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Street Fighter X Tekken v2013, King of Fighters 13, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Persona 4: Arena, Mortal Kombat and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Among others, top players like EG|Justin Wong, AGE|NYChrisG, AvM|GamerBee, EMP|IFC Yipes, EG|PR Balrog, EMP|Dieminion, WW|Ryan Hart and Mike Ross will be attending the event, so make sure to tune in and cheer for your favorites. Streaming duties are being handled by CapcomFighters and Bifuteki.

Relive the hype - EVO 2013 moments video released

With this year's EVO having passed and gone, it'll be a long time before we get to experience the next one. But that doesn't mean the hype is over. This video, released by EVO2kVids, lets you relive the hype of the event at any time. These four minutes manage to amazingly gather all of the emotion, hype and crazy moments that went on during the massive 3-day event.

They say you had to be there, but in case you couldn't make it... This video makes you feel like you did.

After watching this video, this writer would like to create a time machine and jump forward a year just to get to next year's EVO quicker. How do all of our readers feel? Let us know in the comments.

EVO 2013 hype introduction videos for all nine featured titles released online

If you were watching EVO this last weekend, you likely did not miss the introduction videos for each title present, but just in case you did, or you just feel like rewatching them, they've all been released online now, courtesy of iplaywinner, we'll have them all linked right below.

The games featured were Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Super Smash Bros. Melee, King of Fighters 13, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Street Fighter X Tekken v2013, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Persona 4: Arena and Mortal Kombat. The time has finally come, and this year's EVO is upon us. The tournament starts at 8AM PDT, and will go on for the entire weekend, featuring nine different games and a large selection of the world's best players battling it out to see who can grab the world title in their game of choice this year.

The tournament will feature Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Super Smash Bros. Melee, King of Fighters 13, Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Persona 4: Arena and Mortal Kombat, as well as various side tournaments for other titles.

With the highest caliber of competitors taking eachother on in every one of these games, to solidify who is the best of the best, this is not an event to be missed. Are you ready to feel the hype? EVO 2013 preview: Notable players, streams, brackets, schedule, vote for winners and more - July 12-14 in Las Vegas The world's biggest fighting game tournament is going down this weekend, and we'll have full coverage of everything happening in and around EVO 2013 here on EventHubs.

You'll be able to check the site for all of the latest results, live streams, battle logs, bracket updates and more updated constantly throughout the weekend, as the world's best fighting game players descend on Las Vegas, Nevada at the Paris hotel.

There will be a panel from Capcom USA staff and NetherRealm Studios will announced a 5th DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, likely on Sunday, possibly before the finals for that game plays out.

BlazBlue's producer wants to try a freemium title some day, Arc System Works feels P4A helped them tap into a new fan base Discussing approaches he'd like to try in the future, BlazBlue's producer, Toshimichi Mori, said that although Katsuhiro Harada beat him to the punch with Tekken Revolution, he'd still like to try a free-to-play title of his own in the future.

He added that it was something he was curious about on his own, before Tekken Revolution came out.

Minoru Kidooka, President of Arc System Works, also jumped in to talk about Persona 4: Arena and how that fared for the company, adding that it enabled them to successfully tap into a new fan base for fighting games.
