Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 character usage statistics for Top 8 of Road to EVO tournaments

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 character usage statistics for Top 8 of Road to EVO tournaments The other day we had a writeup concerning some statistics from the ever-so-amazing Glenn at Get Your Tournament. This time, the statistics concern the usage of various characters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. More specifically, how often they appear in the Top 8 of Road to EVO tournaments.

These statistics cover 75 matches that were in the Top 8 of a Road to EVO tournament, and thus does not cover all of the Top 8 brackets for various reasons, like some tournaments not having the entire Top 8 available for streaming, with some only showing the finals and some only showing the Top 4. This tracks a character appearing in a match, not a round, meaning that the total amount of times a character can theoretically show up in the list is 150.

Updated: Closer look and glitch explanation, Crazy bug in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 brings two characters on the same team in at once

Updated: Pen7Ninja put together a video that further explores the properties of the glitch. In it, we learn that the player controls both characters at once and that they can stay on the screen forever as long as they don't idle on the ground for too long.

The video gives a closer look at the glitch and explains some of the other properties it retains.

YouTube user tyupazamurai2 uploaded footage of a very interesting Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 glitch. After hitting a knocked out opponent with a snap back, the other two characters on the team jump in to battle at the same time.

Some are speculating that this could be a result of the K.O. and the snapback. The game reads that the first character has fallen and sends in the next. Choosing to bring in third character with the snapback may cause the game to become confused and send in both instead.

At this point, the true reasoning behind this glitch is not confirmed but it sure makes for some very interesting footage. What do you think may be going on here? Let us know below.

East Coast Throwdown 5 - SSF4 AE v2012, UMvC3, SFxT and IGAU to be played on Xbox 360 instead of PS3

East Coast Throwdown 5 - SSF4 AE v2012, UMvC3, SFxT and IGAU to be played on Xbox 360 instead of PS3 The official East Coast Throwdown 5 Facebook page recently dropped a bit of information on the games being played at the event. Due to popular demand, numerous games will now be played on Xbox 360 instead of PlayStation 3 like originally planned.

Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken and Injustice: Gods Among Us will all now be run on Microsoft's console. The change was made because of the many complaints that have been floating around about the PlayStation 3's tendency to lag during matches.

Below are the status updates from East Coast Throwdown's Facebook page that confirm the change.

Due to popular demand, SF4, UMvC3, and SFxT will all be run on Xbox 360 at #ect5. Sorry for the delay on the announcement, we had to make sure we'd have enough equipment to do it before committing!

Injustice will be run on Xbox 360 at #ect5.

Sven: I think we'll see less 'straight ports' in the digital space in the future - update on PSN CvS2 and more

Sven: I think we'll see less 'straight ports' in the digital space in the future - update on PSN CvS2 and more Capcom will likely be shying away from doing what they termed as 'straight ports' of fighting games in the future, Christian Svensson said on the official Capcom forums. He noted that feedback from their December digital survey, plus a recent trend in sales, has shown them that fans don't want just 'straight ports' of their titles, like how Darkstalkers Resurrection and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, among others, turned out.

Subjects covered also include updates of digital versions of their fighters on PSN, including Capcom vs. SNK 2, PC sales numbers and if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will see an e-Shop release. Hit the jump to read everything.

R.Case: I heard that you are going to slow down on making HD ports of fighting games, so does that mean you might try and look into doing HD ports of other genres and franchises?

Svensson: I'd think "straight ports" we'll see less of in the digital space in the future. That was one of the key points we took away in the verbatims of the digital survey we did in December (and what our recent sales trends are telling us too).

Beyond that, I'm not prepared to provide additional details at this time.
