Jebailey reveals eight of CEO 2016's official games; Street Fighter 5, Ultra Street Fighter 4, and more featured

CEO is set to take place in June, and as one of the biggest fighting game events of the year, 2016's tournament is already gearing up for more greatness.

Last week, the tournament's organizer Alex Jebailey took to Twitter to reveal most of the games on the official CEO 2016 line up. So far, eight titles have secured a spot and Jebailey notes that there is enough room for one to two more games.

For those concerned that Street Fighter 5's release might quickly squeeze its predecessor out of the tournament scene, you can rest assured that CEO 2016 will be running both games. As of right now, Ultra Street Fighter 4 will run on Friday and Street Fighter 5 on Saturday, allowing time for both titles to run their course.

You can check out the official CEO 2016 line up after the jump.

CVS2, Rival Schools, Third Strike, MVC2 and a LOT more; this epic, blast from the past combo video features 60 different fighting games

Scrolling through our more recent posts, you may notice we're on something of a Street Fighter 5 binge. While we're absolutely loving playing, discussing and delving into the new game, a little variety is always nice.

We use the term "little" very loosely, as the video we have here for you features no less than 60 different fighting games, (yes SF5 is in there as well,) from over the years.

The nostalgia you'll get from seeing a few of these titles is reason enough to give this combo collection a watch. Take a look at this Chun-Li sequence from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom... which does over 25 billion damage:

Shadowloo Showdown tournament series discontinues after six-year run

Early this morning, the Shadowlogic Facebook page made an announcement pertaining to Shadowloo Showdown. The Australia-based, ongoing tournament series is being discontinued.

This event first came to fruition in 2010, and is now coming to an end after a six-year run.

The Shadowlogic team cites "reasons unfortunately out of our control" for the closure, and also mentions that the tournament became increasingly more difficult to sustain each year.

Back in February, EG|Momochi took first place at Shadowloo Showdown 6 after coming off of his huge Capcom Cup 2014 win that December. In years past, we've also seen champions such as AvM|GamerBee, MCZ|Tokido, and more walk home with the Shadowloo Showdown gold.

You can find the official statement from the Shadowlogic team further explaining the matter after the jump.

Hidden button in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 performs an instant character swap for one bar, videos show resulting glitches from use

A mechanic was discovered in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 through save file editing a ways back by TheSkyrae.

It enables you to swap your first and second characters instantly, costing you one bar of super meter.

This feature was actually mapped to a single button which is otherwise inaccessible — unless you edit your save file — but the fact it exists, and at least was partially balanced (since it costs a meter) is fairly interesting. Here's a quick glimpse of the feature in action.

How this would have impacted UMvC3 would be pretty drastic, as it would have opened the door for several new combos and strategies.

Pat728 put together a couple of great videos showing how this feature worked, and even a combo/glitch video illustrating some of the wild possibilities it would have opened up. You can find them below, along with instructions on how it's done.

America may be losing their Marvel footing, and Street Fighter 5 leaks are more sad than anything; UltraDavid guest stars on Best of Three

In their weekly recap of notable happenings in the FGC, Best of Three bring on commentator David "UltraDavid" Graham for a back and forth on some of the community's latest news.

If Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was anyone's game, it was America's. Dominating the top eight every year at EVO since the game's inception, America has boasted a first place finish in Marvel 3 up until this year. David notes that recently we've seen more and more players from around the world, using lower tier teams, taking tournaments and turning heads.

The discussion proceeds to get David's thoughts on the incredible Street Fighter 4 finals at Canada Cup, and how the game, and its players, have had to change and adapt during its evolution.

The meat of the interview goes to Street Fighter 5, beginning with the massive leaks from PC hacks. David expresses how he can see both sides of the coin, but that surely this is a sad happening as it will take the wind out of SF5's sails later on.
