'When's Mahvel 4?' - Fans have created a petition to request a new Marvel vs. Capcom title

Earlier this week, we reported on the recent discontinuation of Disney's action-adventure sandbox video game, Disney Infinity. It was stated in the article by James Brightman of Gameindustry that the company will begin looking at the video game business as a licensing opportunity for their IPs instead of publishing titles themselves.

Knowing that Marvel Comics is owned by Disney caused a pretty large uproar in the fighting game community. This new business venture from Disney potentially opens up the possibility of a new Marvel vs. Capcom title.

With that in mind, the /r/MvC3 community wasted no time. They have since put together a petition asking Disney, Capcom, Marvel Comics, Sony, and Microsoft for Marvel vs. Capcom 4.

The petition has already acquired 3,355 signatures, and aims to reach a total of 5,000. Signing can help bring awareness to the companies involved and show just how much the fans want a new title in the series.

Disney now 'looking at the video games business exclusively as licensing opportunity' after discontinuing Infinity

A recent article by James Brightman of Gameindustry informs us that Disney Infinity, Disney's action-adventure sandbox video game, is being discontinued.

The company is no longer a game publisher, but will still be licensing out its properties for others to create games with.

"Disney said that it's now looking at the video games business exclusively as a licensing opportunity, so games based on properties it owns, like Star Wars, are of course still receiving games (such as those from EA), but Disney itself no longer has any interest in publishing them," reports Brightman.

With Disney's acquisition of Marvel rights back in 2009, followed by their announcing they'd be tightening up on licensing policies, many felt this would be the end for the MvC franchise. Indeed many Marvel games were removed from marketplaces in early 2014.

While we're not quite holding our breath just yet, this could extend over to Marvel, and that could mean an eventual revitalization of the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

What do you think this move could mean for the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise? Sound off in the comments below.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 might be broken for good; new set up discovered is a one-touch kill, not tough to do, and appears inescapable

A new Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 set up has been discovered that seemingly breaks the game. Put together by players Baba Ghanoush and Snake Tits, this new sequence looks incredibly powerful.

Using a team of Firebrand, Iron Man, and Morrigan, this one-touch kill can be confirmed after a clean hit or a throw. A basic combo from Firebrand leads into a snap out, then Iron Man assist locks down the incoming character leaving them susceptible to Firebrand's unblockable.

Morrigan assist leaves this set up meter positive, and once the opponent gets tagged by Firebrand, there seems to be no escape. Below is the basic set up.

As explained in the video, guard, pushblock, and recovery settings have all been set to random. This means that the training dummy is actively trying different ways to escape the set up, but to no avail.

Coaching officially banned at EVO 2016 for quarter finals and beyond

Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar -- one of the main EVO series tournament organizers -- took to Twitter yesterday in order to share one of the upcoming event's important rules. According to the two tweets sent out by Wizard, coaching will not be allowed in the latter parts of EVO 2016.

For those unfamiliar, coaching is a practice seen in tournament play where a friend or confidant will join a player at their station and provide them with advice between matches.

Coaching has been a topic of debate for quite some time now, with many feeling that it might give players an unfair advantage.

'Dhalsim is very strong in this game; I do think he is top 5 at full potential' - Filipino Champ talks Capcom Cup, dropping Marvel and more

Last weekend at West Coast Warzone 5, PG|Filipino Champ spoke briefly with Yahoo eSports' Michael Martin about how he's approaching Street Fighter 5. Champ has his eyes set on the Capcom Cup title, and he's been refining his strategies both inside and outside of the game.

When asked about the progression with his main so far, Champ responded: “Dhalsim in this game is very technical. I don't think I'm going to get the results that I want out of the early stages of the game.”

He feels that once he gets a better handle on how explosive Street Fighter 5 is, he can take the character all the way to Capcom Cup. He is also pretty confident that at his full potential, Dhalsim is a top 5 contender.

The road to Capcom Cup will be paved with players just as hungry to take the title as Champ is. When it comes to training, he prefers playing offline with friends over grinding online to develop his strategies. In regards to winning -- both offline and going for win streaks online -- consistency is his top priority.

Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Mortal Kombat and free pizza; today is your last chance at discounted registration for West Coast Warzone 5

Capcom Pro Tour Ranking event West Coast Warzone 5 will take place in sunny Orange, California April 15th-17th.

West Coast Warzone has been a somewhat regular part of the SoCal tournament circuit for some time now, and though it hasn't appeared on a yearly basis, each and every event has been incredible.

Street Fighter 5 will be the headlining game, but WCW will also feature Mortal Kombat X, Guilty Gear Xrd, Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Though we don't have a full list, we expect to see most all the top competitors from SoCal, like RB|Snake Eyez and EG|Justin Wong, to be there.

WCW sets itself apart from other tournaments by providing unique experiences like their "Continue?" tournament for those who go 0-2 in any game. To our knowledge, they're also the only event that offers a chance at free pizza if you can beat one of the tournament organizers in a casual match.

After tonight at 12 a.m. PST the registration fee will go up to $60, so it's best you head over to their registration page during these final hours for the discounted rate.
