Ed Boon is counting down to something on Twitter - Is it a new Mortal Kombat? Injustice? Or something else?

NetherRealm Studios' Ed Boon has started a countdown over on Twitter that may be leading up to the company's next game reveal. The Mortal Kombat kreator has now sent out three cryptic hints, each of which unveiling a number descending from 29.

The first tweet asked for the square root of 841, which comes out to 29. The second asked for the number of days in (non-leap-year) February, which is 28. Today's tweet simply linked up a video clip from the television show, The Simpsons, which ends with the number 27.

If Boon continues this countdown, it should end right around June 2. A recent rumor suggests that a sequel to the DC Comics brawler, Injustice: Gods Among Us, may currently be in the works. However, back in February of this year, star of the 24 television series, Keifer Sutherland, mentioned on Twitter that he recently concluded work on a Mortal Kombat title.

Whether NetherRealm Studios is working on either game or something completely new is still yet to be revealed. We'll just have to wait until the end of Mr. Boon's countdown to see what they have in store for fans.

Rumor - Injustice: Gods Among Us sequel reportedly in the works

IGN has posted a video with information on what may be an upcoming Injustice game. According to a report from Wondercon, it seems that a sequel to NetherRealm Studios' DC Comics brawler, Injustice: Gods Among Us, may already be in the works.

The alleged Injustice title was quickly mentioned during a segment discussing the upcoming Batman Arkham Knight game, which is expected to drop later this year.

It is currently unknown which company will be developing the title, as there have been a few recent hints that may signify NetherRealm Studios is already busy with the creation of a new Mortal Kombat game. However, NRS' own Ed Boon has expressed interest in making an Injustice sequel, so the idea may not be too far-fetched.

Still this is all just speculation, and we here at EventHubs will provide an update as soon as new information unfolds.

Major League Baseball star Hunter Pence has a pretty sick Green Arrow in Injustice: Gods Among Us

IGN's Destin Legarie recently sat down to play a few games of Injustice: Gods Among Us, and with him he had a special guest opponent. Major League Baseball athlete, and outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, Hunter Pence stopped by to get in some matches.

Despite devoting his life to being an MLB star, it seems that Pence has clocked in a great amount of time playing Injustice. As you can see in the following footage, the Giants' outfielder not only has a solid understanding of the game mechanics, but also has a pretty sick Green Arrow.

Not only that, but Pence mentions in the video that he enjoys watching Injustice streams in his spare time. It's always a treat to see people in other specialties enjoying fighting games and taking the time to acquire the knowledge.

Tiers for Injustice: Gods Among Us launched on EventHubs

If you're knowledgeable about Injustice, please get in there and vote on the match ups you're familiar with.

Keep in mind this section updates once an hour, so keep checking back to see how the tiers are taking shape.

When a tier section is first launched, just a few votes can have a drastic impact on how the list shakes out, but over time the picture gets much more defined and normalized.

As promised, we're going to be rolling out new tiers sections on a regular basis now, so we'll have yet another game available in about three or four days. Stay tuned.
