For as much hate as Cammy received in SF4 i'm shocked to see her in the top 10 for this.

I personally love R. Mika. Her story was wonderfully developed and she is a non-stereotypical character who is loved for more than just her assets.

Karin will overtake every one in the polls eventually just watch.

Who are all these Q, Oro, and R. Mika "fans" and where were you all during the 3S and Alpha 3 days? Especially the R. Mika ones. I wish people wouldn't vote for the novelty of simply having the characters back and actually pick the characters they genuinely like. I like Oro and Q, but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that many people would play them if they were brought back. And NO ONE played as R. Mika in Alpha 3, so I'm getting reaaaal tired of this R. Mika fad.

See, Karin and Alex I can understand because they both actually had a good number of people that played them during their respective games' lifespans, so it makes sense that they'd be highly demanded.

I'm guessing those people main Cammy or appreciate a nice buttocks on someone other than Chun-Li.

How are R. Mika and Karin not #1 and 2? They are both my waifu by the way.

I really don't understand this type of thinking unless it's a troll. I personally liked Alex but couldn't play him for the life of me in 3rd Strike or the two games that preceed. But I might have a better go because SFV most likely won't be SF3 in any way. I also never bothered with Hugo until SFIV...sorry there are characters that aren't all time favorites and that comes from all 3 eras of SF.

I know what characters I don't want in SF5: Oni and Evil Ryu. I mean, seriously? Just distribute Evil Ryu's tools between Ryu and Ken except for teleport and raging demon, and Akuma already does almost everything better than Oni anyway.

I want Ken being even more far apart from Ryu, that is all.

This list isn't complete without Mike Haggar.

Well...alrighty, I'll be honest then lol

1. I was about 9 years old when Alpha 3 came out. I didn't know about Street Fighter III until a few years later when I was at FightersGeneration (shout-outs to that site btw). But, I always liked R. Mika as a pro wrestling fan at the time with WCW (RIP) and WWF going on. I did main her whenever I played Max on the PSP whenever I got to play it on a friend's PSP.

2. I didn't had a Dreamcast (I remember wanting one badly as a kid) nor had an arcade close by where I lived. I was always poor as a kid and stuck with Nintendo. Which...if I can be honest, I missed out on alot of amazing games until several years later.

3. I didn't know there was a competitive scene up until Street Fighter IV was announced and watched EVO 2009 lol. I'm dead serious, I was very ignorant and was like ,"Man...there's a fighting game scene!? Where the hell have I been!?" lol It was also during that same time I found out about the MvC2 & 3rd Strike scene and watched those vids of Kuroda, Kokujin, and RX to name a few on the latter game.

So yeah, that's pretty much it heh.

I hope Oni returns. I like his normals, special moves, and general animations more than Akuma's. If he cant come back, then make Akuma more similar to him.

Nothing wrong with liking who you like. There are characters I like people hate and vice versa. But that's what makes FGs so fun diversity.

I hope Capcom is looking at non vanilla characters.
Take Gen for example. That's an unusual character that really is exciting to play as well as to watch. He is not the typical shoto. If you end up with 5 shoto, then I am certain SF5 will fail.

I really hate this kind of thinking. Sooo let's just add a bunch of top tier shotos since they are the only characters most people play right? Or choose a character that people are only going to play because they are easy to win with i.e top tiers. we wouldn't even have half the cast of ultra sines most of them are third strike characters that nobody used at s3 tournaments. Look its just good to have that diversity so when you fight a character you don't know how to deal with than choose a character that most people dont know how to deal with.

Man, am I the only one who thinks C.Viper is awesome?! I'd love to see what Capcom would do with her in a new SF5, now that they have experience with her in other games to see how they could evolve her!

Or, even if it's not Viper herself, I'd love to see that type of playstyle with feints/superjumps be given to a char in SF5 at least!

Because they don't have her that's why. I played her and she is boring, really just another rekka character. I know we'll be forced to have ryu, akuma and ken on the same game again, but please don't add more characters that are very similar to others. If they want to add karin, ok just don't add feilong or someone similar pls.

Q and R. Mika did not get played much because people did not like them. The were just not that good. Its not a fad but many want to see them in more games.

LOL, Rufus and El Fuerte are near the dead bottom of this wish list. To be honest, I wouldn't be disappointed one bit if these two horrible character designs don't return in SFV.

Why do so many people want Alex back? There was practically no one that used this character in 3s...plus he was such a lame character anyways, in my opinion

If Capcom's workers are spectating and see what the people want then I think giving the people at least 5 of the top 10 in this list for the starting cast (with the addition of Chun-Li, Ryu, and new characters). As much as I want both Oro and Sean to return, we would need to see what Capcom says.

When they start to do character reveals the first one should give us an idea of what they're targeting.

Also, the "nobody played X in the original game, so they shouldn't be in this game" argument is nonsense. We all know that if a character is bottom tier, people won't use them. It has nothing to do with liking the character, a lot of the time. Character loyalty can only take you so far if your character sucks.

Where exactly was R. Mika in the A3 tier lists? Gee...I wonder if that's why you never see her used...naw, coincidence, I'm sure.

Nevermind the fact that we have NO clue how these old characters will play in this new engine. It's much smarter to base your vote on design taste and preference rather than "I used this character in 3S"...because they will play NOTHING like they did in 3S, and you might not like the new way they play.

Nah, this shows how much SF4 characters values are in comparison to the rest of the roster. I'm still salty about people wanting Juri back. She's not a bad character, they're just WAY better.

You have to understand that Oni is a "what if" character. WHEN Akuma succoms to the Satsui no Hado (which canon-wise he would never do) is the time he changes into Oni. Most likely we won't be seeing any new moves from Akuma since he claims to be "Master of the Fist", why would a master need to learn more moves? The only exception was his new move he learned at the end of 3rd Strike (Tenshou Kaireki Jin).

Capcom probably wants to show off the new game engine so maybe his specials will have a more flashy animation than usual. They could give Akuma returning moves like his jump kick that he use to have (until E. Ryu stole it in SF4). Personally, I don't think Oni or E. Ryu are coming back. If you compare the timeline it wouldn't make sense since Ryu pretty much got BibleThumped by Gouken after SF4. Even during SF4 E. Eyu wasn't suppose to exist either.

I really hope Cammy and Guy aren't in it. They're my least favorite. Like, I hate the way they talk, their storyline, their personality. I don't even care gameplay wise, I hate them lol.

But I swear, Gen better be in SF5....

Every character has players that like them. Just because they are not seen in a lot in tourneys means nothing. Tournament players make up a pitiful fraction of all the people that play street fighter.

Guys, be cool, Combofiend might be watching. I mean, he watches the tier list, he'll probably check this. Also, I voted characters on design before gameplay. Alex, Dudley, Urien. Alex is this cool army guy who's not guile, and also has a moveset that might work well in SFV. Dudley is perfect in every way, no explanation needed. Urien has a design I like because he's suppose to look like he's a fighter from the coliseum, with just the loin cloth, which makes me think like, "Urien is like an old god or something." Plus, CRUSH! KILL! DESTROY! I don't know how smoothly his moveset would translate, but I'm not a game designer, so. I mean. Gutter trash.

I'll be overjoyed if top 15 ends up in the game! Just missing Blanka and Sagat with knee juggle properties for a perfect roster :D! Good variety, fun funky characters (except for Juri...).

Karin is pretty much Sakura's ken. There's no reason one should be in and not the other. That's the main reason. Other than that, I miss her play style she was awesome, and I would love to see her storyline build more.

As for R.Mika, her storyline is pretty simple but it is pretty interesting, considering she's wrestled her idle zangief once(and lost). But I just really like her design, it just feels fresh, kinda like when Abel and Alex were added. And let's face it... EVERYONE LOVES RAINBOW MIKA! B)

She's many fans favorite! Remember that everyone shares different likes.... You might not like her but some other people will. As for me she's like the athena asamiya for street fighter.. And street fighter needs a magical girl.

I can understand that Abel is unlikely to be in SF5 due to the connection to Seth, who certainly won't be in SF5.

I can't speak for everyone but Karin was a character I played exclusively during Alpha 3 with Guy being second and Ryu being 3rd. She was my main in a pretty popular Midwest tournament in 1999 in my pools. So I have a close connection with her due to the fact that she actually was a character I enjoyed to play, not because im a fan of the characters story or something.

Q being 2nd is funny but also bizarre. Wouldn't mind seeing him in SFV!

I'm not going to put down anyone for picking Mika...but let's be honest here. She's only being picked because she's waifu material. She's literally the worst grappler type Capcom ever made. And even if you believe she can be improved there is nothing she does that isn't covered by Gief, Fuerte, Hugo or Alex. She might get picked because the inexplicable rabid fan response each new game release, but other than that it's really hard to justify her being in the game other than she's a well endowed female grappler.

People r voting for characters they havent seen in a while not caz they used them. Caz even if they put r.mika in people would try her out for the first week then drop her. Even karin. I went to couple of fighting game gatherings back in the day and we played 3strike and alpha 3 and I saw more necro's than Q and more sodoms than karin. I never used karin but I always thought her fightin style was the coolest to watch in action

And I certainly dont want a character slot wasted on r.mika a character 5% of the FGC is goin to play. Think about it hakan is a unique fighter but not very good nor used a lot and he is new to the SF scene. Now that we kno how he plays, how bad he is and how little he is used do u think we will c him in SFV? No. Same with r.mika, underused and garbage moves. All she has is a unique look. Why would u want a character that no 1 will play?

you're wrong.. she was design for a manga before street fighter alpha...! but capcom owns the rights of the character( karin ). ono has said this a million times that capcom owns the rights.. unlike EX character he has say it millions times that akira owns the rights to those characters..

People keep citing this, but Capcom have never stated that anyone else owns Karin. AFAIK, they bought the rights to her when they put her in Alpha 3. I'm fairly sure there's no actual rights issue with Karin, since Capcom never mention it when people request her.
