Tried to get the guys pretty well too. I think I did a good job with Ryu, but they didn't give me much to work with on Bison. :(
Just wonder how soon capcom will edit and change all the camera angles
A bit edgy but I think it's alright. Fighting games kinda need to attract, say, low hanging crowd while they can.
It's in the comments. Catalyst did. Apparently he "tried" to get the same kinds of photos for the males. Emphasis on tried.
Almost everyone is a thirsty fuccboi, it's just if they admit it or not.
Hot Ryu, Chun-Li, etc.
Us humans like pretty things.
I was actually disappointed they didn't have more shots of Ryu and M. Bison. The former is popular with the ladies. I did the best I could, but Capcom does tend to do more with the camera with the female cast.
That said, I do think what's there for Ryu isn't half bad, but Bison... no real luck there.
I mean, there's really not much you can do with Bison, he's not really advertised sexually, like ever. Hot Ryu I can see, even Necalli possibly. Basically all the shirtless guys.
You totally grabbed some screenshots, Catalyst! ;)
lmao @ admitting it tho!
You a real one for that, lol
I'm going to make an exception and buy this game digitally it seems.
I like Chuns hair. It's nice to see something different for once. That outfit is okay but the buttslap is too demoralizing? I know the whole Censorship thing is past, but that was apart of Mika's character. Imagine if they altered Kikoken's stance because the H version shows Chun stick her rear up
can we just get a traditional chinese dress for chun li?
Wish they would fix the hair and stuff going through their character models.
Cammy's would look so much better with pants. No way Chun's outfit would stay.... in place during those movements. I mean i get that those kind of outfits sell and all, but i hope we get some decent "cool" costumes for the leadies rather than all "sexy" outfits.
As of now they're exclusive to their respective retailers.
I'm guessing they'll be added as payed DLC later on.

Chun Li's belt goes through her thigh.
Finally seeing Cammy's hair in movement, she looks so gorgeous!! I wonder about the other 12 character's alt costumes
I think it looks especially weird in combination with this costume.
But I guess we're talking about the same company that greenlit F.A.N.G., so...
Also on another note: every single thing Chun does gives us a pretty good look at her undergarments, and yet Cammy's intro was too much?
this is just a reminder why Chun is THE Hottest WOMAN in gaming !!!!
actually she's so hot in this alt that I want to main her :v (and please don't say that she's garbage the game is not out yet! ) no one knows who is who
everyone was saying that Elena would define capcom cup but hardly anyone seen her !!!!

That awkward blue censor.
Are these official screen shots by Capcom or did you do these yourself because I have to say for a company so afraid of the ESRB and censoring Mika and Cammy they sure have no shame showing all these crotch shots of Chun Liand Cammy.
Cosigned, and the double standards are even in the posters and comments. Not hearing the complaints about Chun that I heard about Mika. "It's Chun" so therefore it's different. Blows me away. What happened to sexualization and all of that fanservice jazz I was hearing?
Wow chun is hot af. Ryu is a pretty sexy beast as well. Bison embracing his inner James Hetfield. I want the chun one most though. Not sure wha's going on in the uk though tbh.
dude calm your libido.
Its clear that capcom is appealing to fan service and its kinda tacky and distasteful. Sexualization is alright, its an inherent thing in being a human being, but the issue is the gender bias and belonging. I'm not even going to focus on tits and ass here or the fact that "sexy ryu" wouldn't compare to cammy or chun's costume unless he was stripped down to Urien's level; Look at cammy's face since the first iteration and how much its bending toward japanese beauty standards, this costume even further accentuates her eyes.
This is no DOA, its not that bad, but you'd be blind to not notice the amount of sexual objectification being heavily swayed to appeal to straight dudes.
Dude, no. With the exception of maybe a few posting on this thread, I don't think anyone had a problem with the game at all as it was originally presented.
The difference being - when Capcom made slight changes, some of us saw why and understood. A lot of us didn't. To put it mildly.
We're adults (mostly, I guess) and if we buy into the fanservice, fine. Like Catalyst said, we appreciate pretty things. But the sensible ones aren't going to throw tantrums and stage mock protests over things we have little control over, either. We shrug and life goes on. It's not like they were burning down things of cultural importantance here.
Really? that's interesting. I guess he returned to the private sector after stepping down as mayor. I like when they add details like that to a character's backstory, even if they don't show up.
My point is that R. Mika garnered way more complaints on far more websites including this one from many posters. I don't see those same people complaining now. Hence the double standard. Why cover up one character and not another?
It's not about "understanding" anything, some people are for censorship and others aren't, people are welcome to buy what they want. My point is that it's arbitrary and a double standard. Where are all of those complainers who were going on and on about sex objects and whatnot?
Not to mention how it's ok for one character to be revealing and not another. If you just don't mind because it's Chun Li, just say so but there's no "logic" behind it otherwise.
What mock protest? The other side was protesting about the females in the first place.
Chun is the same as in the US, meaning you have to pre-order the digital version in the Playstation Store (meh...) and I've seen the Cammy costume as a pre-order bonus on Amazon Germany. No idea where to get Ryu or Bison though.
Also, pervy comments aside, I really like the costumes. They're really well-designed and differ quite a bit from the standard attire. Hopefully every character in the game will get such a great first alternate.
Uhm Cammy had allways big eyes and looked pretty asian in generl.
This makes sense too, she isn't born european she is basicly Taiwanesse or at least South-East asian.
And name me one Game she didn't wear a Leotard, I want pants too.
Chun's is basicly ok,not a big difference from the SFIV alt. Yes it's basicly the same costume with different hair.
Ryu is totaly fine and his beard is the actual hot thing about him.
And since he has no home is wondering around and sleeps everywhere, this costume makes more sense.
And Bison is also sexier than in SFIV.
I don't know about other websites. I'm only talking about here.
It is absolutely about understanding. I am an artist and I'm pro creator's rights, but with widely commercial products sometimes sacrifices are made, whether I agree or not . I don't think the people who *understood* were going "yay, Capcom," when it happened, just reasoned calmly when it did.
Hey, guess what? Nothing really wrong with Mika's outfit, Capcom didn't cover her up, just changed the camera angle on one little part.
There were people who went a little off on the other way too, I completely agree there. Sex sells, you can't stop that and I think it's a little naive that people think it's just a Japanese thing and that it's "wrong." Some of them are voicing their concerns here as it is, but I don't see a huge double standard just because "it's Chun." And I see the same people making the same complaints regardless.
lol makes me wonder if feminists will send death threats to Capcom like they usually do when they see something they don't like. aka "problematic" things that don't conform with their religious extremist views and therefore need to be changed.
If SFV is really popular, there's a good chance SJWs will try everything in their power to censor it/ban it. But of course SJWs will say it's not really "censorship" because no one is "forcing" Capcom to remove or change these things. They're just giving "constructive feminist feedback" aka harassing, threatening, slandering, black mailing, doxing and persecuting creators until companies bend to political correctness.
Remember back when people just ignored the stuff that they didn't like? Those were the days my friends. Now you just need one random delusional person to take offense at any little detail and BAGOOSH! you have a very triggered and pseudo oppressed minority who want to prevent you from buying Sexy Ryu because they don't know how to explain the rapist beard to their children.
See, that's the thing...there has been no "SJW backlash" that anyone can prove happened. As far as we know. We can't even confirm it was an ESRB thing, though I might say that's the more likely reason. It just may be that Capcom (or Sony, let's not forget) doesn't want to make any unnecessary waves after investing so much into SFV.
I'm just going to prepare myself for chun li's alt or camera angle to be censored too after this.
Except the people who like males like looking at chests, faces, shoulder to waist ratios and tight butts. The pics of Ryu do a good job with most of that.
I wasn't specifically talking about the R.Mika censorship. But for example look at what happened with DOAX3. PlayAsia were heavily harassed/threatened and bullied just because they offered to export the game. Some people seriously do not want DOAX3 or similar games to be something that can be purchased in america. It shouldn't be acceptable to harass/threaten a game dev/publisher bc of personal preference. Of course most companies want to prevent unnecessary waves/backlashes so they bend at SJW will for fear of getting too much negative press or whatever.
Aside from that, you also have Leia's slave costume and Walter White's figurine from The Breaking Bad, pulled from shelves bc a dad/mom didn't want his kid to see a father figure holding a gun or a woman dressed as a slave... Even though the figurines weren't meant for children in the first place.
Well, there are loonies everywhere. I don't think SFV has a whole lot to worry about. But, all the more reason to understand why Capcom made changes in the first place.
Don't kid yourself. It is the costume that makes you suddenly develope these "feelings" lol
I want you to know that PlayAsia actually made up the controversy around DOAX3. There was no sjw backlash and no one even cared about the game coming out in the states. The actual reason it didn't come out over here was because that type of game gets horrible sales in the states so Tecmo knew they shouldn't bother localizing it. PlayAsia saw it as an excellent opportunity to point fingers and come up with a good marketing scheme to reel in customers.
It worked and a lot of people were played like a fiddle by them. Now people are buying their imported 60+ dollar porn as a way to get back at people who don't even care in the first place.
Since Goken was introduced, I've always kinda imagined that Ryu should 'evolve' and somewhat grow to sport a "Goken-esque" look, that's why I love Ryu's bearded look, maybe even sport Goken's pony tail or Gi, but definitely the beard. Ryu's gotten pretty "jacked" up with age, been working out yo!
And also loving that Chun with her hair down, been wanting to see that since the SF2 animated movie...although as I've seen someone state on here previously, her hair does look 'big' particularly from a profiled view. If they can tweak that a bit where it's not so big, then it would look absolutely perfect. Chun is absolutely gorgeous, without looking overly provocative...her design from a cosmetic standpoint is genius. Easily one of my favorite video game female character designs of all time. Her original costume, the track suit, and the SF4/5 black Chinese dress are iconic!
I think the costumes look good as well, but taking frame by frame the most pervy caps he could find... People wonder why flames get fanned.
What male fighter has a boner while he's fighting? That's a stupid suggestion.
I still thirst for the butt slap though... Lol
Was is Bazzers who designed chuns costume?? I love it a bit too much!
Yes Ehubs, we had already noticed the Chun buns but thanks for pointing out the obvious.
Chun's never looked better, thigh-ratio-wise. I approve.
But now, #BringBackTheButtSlap
Actually here is what is actually going on or what has been said besides would release DOAX3 if there was enough demand, starting from "if demand calls for it, they may release a version of the game adujusted for North America & Europe", here was the interview that is in chinese: gnn.gamer.com.tw/6/121226.html
Here what was translated: After they announced DoA X3, a few days later the American/Eu distributors voiced their worries.
Due to those Western countries having their own standards, KT is not gonna even bother with that for now to focus on the much more lenient Japan/Asia market standards for release.
This game was announced for a Asia release for Chinese & English subtitles and will remain what is seen in the Japanese release which happen in Oct. 30, there was a facebook post that Dead or Alive Game was made before it got removed: "We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won't have any plan change in the future. Thank you for asking."
"Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you."
Here is Koei Tecmo statement: "The comments recently made by an employee regarding Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 on the official Dead or Alive Facebook page only reflect that individual’s opinion and not the opinion or business strategy of Koei Tecmo Games.
We remain focused on delivering the best in fighting entertainment to our fans around the world, while consciously respecting and strategizing to support the different global audiences the Dead or Alive franchise lends itself to.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 remains in development and is still planned for release in Japan and Asia only."
Koei Tecmo localization team are more concern about what has been going on in the internet & various social medias.
