I got so excited when I saw it...
I was like ,"YEAH, I'm gonna play SFV today!"...then I couldn't get in...profound sadness.
Ah well, should be soon though since Capcom Cup is right around the corner; maybe the final character will be revealed and be playable. We'll see.
PC dudes were able to play the crack'd version until very recently. I didn't do it myself but the option was there.
That doesn't repent Capcom from their dickiness, it only means you can bypass the law to access something that is normally not available.
They really should have told PC gamers what they were getting into. I'm on PS4 so I'm not too bothered, but it sucks for a few friends of mine
Because if you actually read any of the explanations given, you'd know that you'd have to be incredibly stupid to try to put two unique environments up at the same time and risk both blowing up in your face rather than making sure the first one is stable before integrating the second.
You seem to not understand that they're only testing what they need to test. This isn't early access to the game, they NEED this data to ensure that things go smoothly come launch. Capcom isn't giving PS4 preferential treatment.
So just because some people did the cracked thing pc getting busted? What if people buy it right now because it's telling you to get beta access. But actually they wont? good shi"r"t capcom.
Wait, what? It's obviously a commercial decision, please don't tell me you also believe that SF5 isn't getting an Arcade release in Japan because "Arcades are dying in Japan".
I am an IT Project Manager and one of the principles of quality assurance is exactly testing in situations that bring you the most risk. The "I dont want to test in a production scenario that might cause a lot of problems even now" argument just doesnt make any sense even for them, so I am assuming you made that up.
The #1 complained feature of SF4 for PC users was the poor online performance, so if that is not high on their list of priorities to test why bother even releasing for PC?
And yes, PS4 has preferential treatment since it's a deal with Sony. Even Capcom admitted it.
Or maybe they're going to update both, pc users are still using hacked beta, and they want to actually have a surprise for a change and are keeping the update from data miners for a little bit. Or maybe PC is harder to program for...(it is. That's one of the most common knowledge things ever). Unrustle your jimmies folks
It's not being thirsty, they're just informing us. I for one did not know it was up due to my job, so thanks eventhubs.
Once again they are going to release it only for a weekend and it will almost certainly be a weekend I am busy. Can't we get like a solid week of straight beta already? the 3 days, which is actually just a day at best due to servers going down and hotfixes, is complete garbage.
Complaining about "getting Eventhubs clicks" while providing said clicks is the new hip thing.
PlayStation Fighter V
Thanks for a whole lot of nothing, Capcom. Again, transparency is all the people ask for. Even if they just come forth and simply say SOMETHING regarding these many updates that PS4 is getting, versus absolutely NOTHING on the PC's behalf, it would be appreciated.
That can't be too much to ask. They have to have some semblance of a PR team to handle such a minimum request, don't they? Want to curb speculation? Speak up. Simple as that. At this rate, it's a PlayStation 4 title with what appears to be a port to PC. At least, that's what it seems like.
And for the salty people STILL upset about PC users seemingly "taking matters into their own hands", in an attempt to gain some comparable QT with the game as PS4 users have, that crack was live for a good two weeks, maybe? Stack that up with the cumulative MONTH AND A HALF [call it two, if we're remaining speculative] PS4 users have had in contrast, and you think we have an argument?
Show that your ENTIRE customer base matters, and not just one facet of them. It's really not that difficult if you WANT to do it. Thus far, this is a pitiful display of "uniting the player base", as there's very clearly one red headed step child here - hint: it's not the one with the previously wealthy parents. When does this start happening for them?
The flip side to all of this, is if the PC version is the most optimized or stable, and your on the last leg of the tour here, trying to bring the PS4 version up to par. Sadly, I highly doubt this.
This is an age old discussion that I'm VERY willing to have EVERY TIME if it comes to it. Leaving PC users in the dark may prove to be the biggest unintended alienating scheme they could conjure up.
More importantly, it's easily avoidable...
Yeah, I think I'm going to need a source for that quote, especially when PC has been the co-existing goal from day one.
It's also not that unprecedented for a fighting game to go console when the arcade market dries up. It happened to SNK, it happened to NRS. You are making suppositions as much as anyone else.
A) Way too early for anyone to jump to conclusions regarding PC participation in what should be the final beta test.
B) It sucks for PC people who legit want to play the beta IF there's some disparity of game time, but on the other hand...why is anyone surprised Capcom is gun shy after being blown up for six months due to leaks and cracks?
What's the popular entitled counter-argument? "Well, they should have made it more secure." No, they shouldn't have to. They're only trying to test the netcode. All they asked out of anyone was to play the damn thing and give feedback if necessary. Not rip it and seed it everywhere. Incredibly naive? Yep, sure was. No different then Koei Tecmo asking people not to make nude mods, which of course nobody listened to. It's not an alien concept for a company to at least try to operate on some level of trust with its fans.
Anyway, before the arguments start...see what happens first.
The game isn't out yet, and the version we played is already radically different than the current, and that version will be radically different than the release, and that will probably be vastly different than the following patches. Save your excitement for when things actually happen, not a update that does nothing for us yet. Please take the time to realize hands on time with sfv is not blood diamonds. Some of your "tech" and "experience" will be totally useless because of changes. So let's cheer the EH anthem "STOP HAVING KNEE JERK REACTIONS AND BEING ENTITLED RAA RAA RAA"
http://commentsmeme.com/wp-content/up...
Seriously dude give that shìt a rest. Yes it probably easier to crack it on PC that it is on console, but if the game was a console exclusive for PS4 and XBONE and it got hacked on XBONE, would you think that they would treat them as bad as they treat us? Microsoft would flip the fùck out if they did.
Well, PC has no overall governing authority as a gaming platform and it's Capcom's game. Oh well.
You're still jumping to conclusions that there's any "punishment" going on at all. They're just being careful, as all the people justifying the rip are telling them to do in the first place.
Is there another update for PS4? I just got my PS4!
Agreed.
Capcom continues the tradition. Now if a PC update doesn't come in a day or two, it's likely not to come at all. Waiting for an 'announcement' (that's if they bothered with it) once again, "Sorry guys, no PC mini-test this time."
+1
All i can say to this is Skullgirls. If you put so much effort into pre-purchase deals like beta and people are invested. And you allienate one side, well thats not how you go about doing a beta. Also wtf is with this lets only have beta from day x to x. Skullgirls beta is still up to this day. lol
Indie companies making big companies look like uncapable of actually knowing what a beta is for. *facepalm*
why are all these people crying about an update not being on pc when the beta can't even be played yet?
This is Capcom which has to get things done
They put important data on this beta and didnt even try to hide it correctly
Do any of those issues invole Mika's butt slap and or cammy's awkward camera angle?
Now im curious...
Hmmm... PC does have a governing authority, and it is called Steam, before it was games for windows live(sort of). Obviously Steam doesn't have as much power or authority, as Sony and MS have with the content that gets release on their consoles, but I would assume that steam would LIKE to be able to offer similar content to the one available in consoles to its costumers.
In any case, I never said it was punishment, I just said that giving the PC such low priority seems stupid. Specially considering how big PC gaming and Steam has become in the last few years. However, I don't know what Capcom's deal is with Sony, nor what they expectations of the sales are when it comes to PC and PS4, I just hope that they know what they are doing for everyone's sake.
Entitled, lolwut?
The game is the exact same price on both platforms,so it is correct to assume that both platform should be treated equally. I mean, I can't get a DVD of the game on PC because it doesn't exist, I can't pick which pre-order bonus I want either for the same god dam reason.
I don't really understand what you mean by the "netcode in USF4", but if they ever meant to make cross-play work properly they should have spent more time trying it on a real life environment(aka more PC/PS4 betas). Ironically enough, they might have concluded that the netcode on PC is robust enough for release, while the PS4 version still needs work.
@Some ridiculous and moronic PS4 fanboys
Either admit that Capcom IS NOT treating both sides equally, or just STFU. No PC gamer is saying what should or shouldn't be done by Capcom on PS4, a.k.a your beloved system.
It's not about you, it's about the PC gamers. So either show some respect and sympathy OR just shut up!! It's none of your business in the first place. Play your betas and mini-betas and whatever betas, but just keep your mouths shut!!
These PC gamers are way too whiny & entitled. No one cares about how little time or attention the PC gets with SFV because everyone knows that when the game is released the "Master Race" will get to create a crap load of cool mods/costumes/etc that the console peasants could never dream of. So as far as I'm concerned the PC has it way too good - hopefully the netcode on PC will be crap to even the playing field.
I did happen to say that it sucks for PC users who legit want to play the beta. And again, you're flipping out when we haven't heard anything from Capcom yet.
I just got back from reading that the servers of Bloodborne were shut down because some people figured out to access the DLC for free. Did everyone do this? No. But now everyone can't play co-op because some things can't be easily singled out.
If something happened on the PS4 side of things and I got shut out of the beta, I would have been pissed but I also would have understood. Stuff happens, innocents get lumped in with everyone else.
Above all else, nothing happened yet. PS4 got a patch today, no big deal. No beta announcement so far so chill until we actually know something.
*signals to face*
You uh... have a little bit of Capcom left oozing out of your mouth..
the only thing that sucks is i had to pay full price for the game on steam didnt ps4 owners get it with just a preorder?
Next beta is December 17th-20th https://twitter.com/IFCRicky/status/6...
^
" hopefully the netcode on PC will be crap to even the playing field."
The netcode is functionally identical. That's how they connect to one another for cross-platform play...
I wonder why so many PC gamers said the online was bad for them during the last beta. No doubt many other factors that impact online play. Anyway, they have it pretty good, not shedding any tears on the plight of PC.
The weekend of the Star Wars premier?! Goddamn it, guys.
Your logic is so Sesame Street in the grand scheme of things, it's baffling to see some of the sh*t you've been saying.
Just to pick this one little nugget out though, I'm to understand that PC users are "entitled" and "have it good" because there will be "cool mods" that PS4 users could "never dream of"?
The F*ck? How old are you? Six?! How were you even allowed to create an account here? I bet you still get lunch money for school if you truly believe the disparities between both platforms is justified, solely on the hinging fact that there will be Mods.
I can't tell if you're purely exhibiting lunacy, or if you're borderline salty/jealous of PC. What happens when your PS4 craps out on you, rendering your SFV experience futile? You'll just go and get another one, huh? Cause it's that easy... when Mommy or Daddy are there to buy you the things you want. Afterall, you could NEVER see yourself playing on PC. Oh, the heresy!
What ever it is, get off it and stay off it. The lack of dialogue from Capcom regarding SFV on PC is not a direct result of a measly Evil Ryu or Nadeshiko re-skin. The sooner you understand this, the closer you'll be to increasing your problem solving skills and overall reading comprehension.
God, how did the Internet get this bad?
honestly the second that pc gamers datamined the beta and leaked capcom's plans, should've been the last second pc gamers had of playing the beta.
You're getting the beta too. It's been announced several times that both pc and ps4 users will play the second and third beta test.
But of course the self centered and entitled pc gamer wants more.
What are you even complaining about? That ps4 gamers got to update their game? We can't play it. It's not up for us too.
Or are you complaining that we got a few hours of stress tests that weren't part of the beta? When you, as you've also pointed out, got weeks of playing the game through a crack. We got hours.
So, what exactly are you complaining about you repulsive creature?
RIGHT AFTER MY LAST LAST FINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so ready!!
There is no way in hell you're an IT project manager if you honestly think it's acceptable to push code, or anything to production without testing it first. Either way, both of these betas are not near "production scenarios", the amount of users is far too small for it to be close to a production-level event. The amount of people that are going to buy the game at-launch and post-launch far exceeds pre-launch.
You don't try to bring two infrastructures up at the same time, there's literally no point in doing that when you're introducing an entirely new environment into the mix, especially when they're dependent on each other. What logical reasoning would you have to not stand up the one that's more stable first, then stand up the other? Standing up both at the same time also isn't a "production scenario", both are going to be up internally by the time the game launches.
The whole point of the first beta was to get the PS4 infrastructure standing up, the second beta was to get both standing up and working together, and the last beta is very likely going to be a final pass at everything to best mimic that actual live environment.
anyone else not getting the update on Steam? I've restarted a couple times
I know, right? Priorities, man!
I missed out on the ticket frenzy though, so I guess I'll console myself with the beta, lol.
Again, I'm going to go back in time to address this. Back to a time when a game/update came out called SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV: ARCADE EDITION arrived on the scene.
There was a glitch/opening/exploit that made itself known, where players were able to boost either PP or BP just by using Yun. If I remember correctly, I think Capcom's response on the whole matter was essentially: "No! Please don't do this. It's bad." - until they patched it. There were talks about banning or invalidating people who participated in said exploit, but again, if I remember correctly, I don't think this ever came to pass. Even still, how could they really enforce such a rule that was truthfully caused by negligence on theur part?
W...wait a second. This sounds... a lot like... what's happening here! It's as if the Illuminati had foreseen this way back then, just in another medium! But, if... people were minimally punished then, surely that means...-
Hopefully, you see where I'm going with this. If not, take off the shades Ray Charles, cause sh*t is about to get brighter for ya.
Unify [verb]: make or become united, uniform, or whole.
synonyms: integrate, join, coalesce.
What in the f*ck is unified about minimal inclusion [Two days ON RECORD], lack of dialogue regarding what appears to be important updates [Tutorial mode, UI updates] and unannounced playing time ON RECORD in the form of these "hourly" stress tests you so eloquently referenced. Do you know what PC users have had since October 12th or whenever it was [not including offline crack or today's update]? NOT A SH*T. Are we entitled to something? No, not necessarily. However, after shelling out $59.99 USD for a game in full, PC users deserve at the very least a "Hey, here's what's happening in YOUR neck of the woods", just to prove that they are indeed looking to unite the base.
Seeing this NEW platform war wage on now has only gone on to further highlight the huge WEDGE Capcom has shoved between us. Unintentionally or not, it's there.
YOU [potentially] have absolutely NOTHING to writhe or complain about because YOU [potentially] have been a part of the group that has been treated "justly" and "according to plan" in all of this. Therefore, you couldn't and wouldn't possibly understand why PC users would want to CARE about the levels of disparity here.
You've made a huge unfounded assumption that the PC is going to get the same amount of time as PS4. It's just not going to be true. Too bad, but assumptions usually lead to tears.
If you don't understand what I mean by "netcode in USF4" you're just uninformed, because they've been testing the SFV netcode (codename Kagemusha) in USF4 for the last year in Steam Beta. So they've had a full year of testing on PC, they just need to make sure that it works cross platform. But you seem to know more about how they should go about it, even though you didn't even know about Steam, USF4 and kagemusha. </sarcasm>
Entitled and ignorant. A dangerous and disgusting combination.
I think its great that people can try that game out again, but with all the changes that'll happen between now and February coupled with the fact that I have to play on a pad...I think I'll sit this one out.
Gonna need that stick support soon.
I see, just because I lack sympathy for PC regarding SFV that means I'm a child who hates PC gamers? Au contraire mon ami, I actually have a lot of admiration for PC gamers. I even support the data mining & modding of games. The modding community helps to prolong & improve the life of many games IMO.
It still doesn't change the fact that you guys act entitled to a BETA that Capcom could have not offered at all to anybody. The game will be released in about 10 weeks time; then you'll be able to play & mod to your hearts' content. So quit whining about what you think is fair (rather immature BTW) and wait like everyone else.
PS: If my PS4 goes belly up on me then I'll just buy another one. I have a profession that allows me the resources & time to have the things I want. Taking six days off this weekend and shall be visiting the PSX. La vie est belle.
Because you guys datamine. Dick move, PC gamers
You have to put 60 bucks down for the pre-order on PS4 as well...
I'm honestly not going to bother reading what you wrote. I dislike stupidity.
Whatever Capcom did in the past, they have different plans now. For starters they're trying to unify the player bases. They can't and won't, if they neglect one platform in favor of the other. Until the beta is live, you'd be wise to shut up. Should the beta go live and the pc version still not have the update, THEN you can talk. As of now, you're nothing more than a spoiled child crying about whatever the hell you're crying about. This is what was promised to you: TWO BETAS. You already got one. Two weeks from now you'll get another.
You can try to sound smart, but that's only what you're doing. Trying. Not succeeding.
If it weren't for the guys who said "This game is nice, let's see what's under the hood", the experience would be even nicer. PC gamers finally got a forefront, and just because of some bad apples, you're all being punished
I'm sorry but where did this entitled BS come from in the gaming community? Like some people are trolling with it (not saying you specifically) as if to insult and elicit or some jazz like that.
Well yeah Capcom has a right to be jerks and treat costumers like crap (not saying that they are doing that, purely an example), but large groups of people also have the right not to support their products (not saying that this will happen in any related case to SFV, again just in theory). The heck kind of an answer is "Capcom could have not offered at all to anybody", well sure but if it has anything to do with their selling point, I'm pretty sure it is in their best interest to offer it, whatever it may be, cause you know others will try and capitalize on that market share.
On another note, I'm surprised there is no company handling a PC specific fighter. Surely there is something to be gained down that lane, no?
I might be a PS4 guy, but what he had to say was actually quite sound. Would you guys mind not fighting anymore?
"It still doesn't change the fact that you guys act entitled to a BETA that Capcom could have not offered at all to anybody."
When Capcom says, "Pre-order for Beta access", then YES, everyone who pre-orders IS entitled to it. Period.
"I actually have a lot of admiration for PC gamers."
Yeah, your comment #51 reflects just that.
"...wait like everyone else."
Who is this 'everyone' that has to wait or has been waiting without any fillers in between? Are PS4 gamers included? I don't think so. Talk about waiting for the final release is totally pointless here. Saying, "I don't care if you people on PC couldn't play as much as us console owners. So stop whining and wait for final release." - sure shows a lot of love and admiration for PC gamers.
From what I can tell there is no Steam update... just Eventhubs "reporting" on user tips without verifying if the info is accurate or not.
This was in the light of the recent mini-beta, the tutorial and UI changes, etc., that PS4 received. So people assuming that this time again, it wouldn't be different from before, were totally justified in thinking so. And still, they haven't made any announcement on the PC side of things regarding the period of the Beta and such.
As Snoop would say... "With so much drama in the FGC, It's kinda hard being Snoo..." Oh wait...
Dude.... chill.
There's so much salt pouring off you.
Well it's definitely in Capcom's interest to have the betas, they get to test out the online performance while at the same time costumers get a taste of it and ideally generate more hype. But they could have just waited until release day and then patched any issues that popped up later.
So when you think about it, they are being very thoughtful & considerate of all customers (except Xboners). But I guess unless they release the beta a year early and let everyone play a broke ass beta forever they are evil "Crapcom".
and yet, you didn't read what I aaid to properly form an opinion? Self inflicted ignorance?
Sir, have ALL the seats.
actually it wasn't.
Capcom had different plans for SF4. They have different plans for SF5.
Until the beta is live, hold your complaints and faux outrage.
How and where?
I've proposed valid arguments, and have thoroughly explained all my talking points. What have you done or said to refute my claims?
Man, go sit somewhere and STFU when you hear grown folks talking.
It's all in your opinion that Capcom are doing it because of data-mining. Capcom knew about this from Day-1, I'm sure. There wouldn't have been today's update on PC if Capcom was thinking what you're thinking.
what update? nobody here can access any update on PC
