Feels like there hasnt been much of Daigo anywhere lately. I don't even know the last majorttournament I saw him at aside from evo.

#6

He was at Dreamhack.

#7
spotlesseden said on March 25, 2014 at 8:19 p.m.

this tournament and evo should worth double the capcom cup points. It doesn't make sense Texas Showdown has the same points as this one.

djm0001 said on March 25, 2014 at 8:23 p.m.

daigo is waiting for Ultra, he's probably somewhere high in the Himalayas in a pure meditative state, achieving total tranquility...when the first USF4 arcade machine gets plugged in, his eyes will shoot open

#9
evo546 said on March 25, 2014 at 8:26 p.m.

I believe Daigo is busy writing his second books.

#10
spotlesseden said on March 25, 2014 at 8:28 p.m.

yeah, Daigo was at Dreamhack. I think he won that one. It had big prize too.
Forget about Daigo, i haven't see momochi for a long time. I guess Sako and Haitani are skipping this one also.

US is only sending one player? hope jwong can atleast take umvc3. I don't think US can take SF4 with only one player. No chance.

lol, Gamerbee is not going join China.

"Lol, guys. I was talking about Poongko. He's Korean, that's why I was wondering why he's skipping on this one."

Many US top players are only going to tournaments in close to their home, also. Just saying.

Fuudo the strongest in the bunch. Banbaban the dark horse. Bonchan is a destroyer. Tokido always a threat. Infil still a god slayer. Xiao Hai wants revenge on japan. JWong vs Nemo. Eita and Kazunoko Marvel dark horses. And don't know what the fff--- ChiRithy was thinking when he decided to travel that far to enter this tourney.... no offense.

#39

i think so. Also the same chiRithy who can't beat Alioune. When you have two other Cammy players who are better than Alioune (XiaoHai and Banbaban) imo, you got issues even before the tourney begins.

Here is a whimsical wish that Capcom may recognize this small affair and offer Capcom Pro Status. There is a planet earth other continents to have fun in. Cant wait to watch.

Didn't even get out of pools.

i'm pretty sure Eita got out of pool, then lost to gamerbee in loser, then gamerbee beat J wong to advance to top 8. I'm not sure why people think evo is the only tournament. IF you don't do good at evo, you suck. Sanford Kelly must be a horrible player. Atleast Eita won major. Sanford won video game conversion tournament.

gamerbee vs eita evo 2010 semi.

In 2012 & 2013 Eita didn't get out of pools.

Even though Justin beat him at his own specialty, long sets. It was close, but Justin did beat him, and has a better tournament record. In this scenario, Nemo is Justin and Justin is Infiltration.

I cant recall him ever weighted-in on this one. either way im so hyped about this dandy tournament and with such a line of fine players there should be a high viewer number for sure.

Lets see Tokido accomplishments
Shadowloo Showdown 2013 Super Street Fighter IV: AE 1st

Super Street Fighter IV: AE - 5v5 CCUP 2013 1st

Evolution 2013 Super Street Fighter IV: AE 2nd

South East Asia Major 2013 Super Street Fighter IV: AE 4th

April Duels II Super Street Fighter IV: AE 3rd

Super Street Fighter IV: AE 4th 25th Tournament

Canada Cup 2012 Super Street Fighter IV: AE - 5v5 1st

SF25th Brazil Qualifying Tourn. Super Street Fighter IV: AE 2nd

Treta Armageddon 2012 Super Street Fighter IV: AE 1st

World Game Cup 2012 Super Street Fighter IV: AE 1st
Super Street Fighter IV: AE - 3v3 1st
Super Street Fighter IV: AE - 5v5 1st

Shadowloo Showdown 2012 Super Street Fighter IV: AE 4th

These are his accomplisments in AE2012 alone, and even then, these aren't all of them. You probably picked out all of Eita's most notable accomplisments throughout Sf4. I also never said he hasn't won anyhting or that he isn't any good, he is very good, only that he is nothing compared to Tokido.

Remondo is right, I'm a huge tokido fan but eita is a master akuma aswell and he doesn't travel much so he doesn't get as much recognition.. He's not overrated as he has won a major in his short travels, you have to remember evo isn't everything and Americans are tough deal with at America, I guess Australians are nicer lol

#90
JIHADJOE said on March 26, 2014 at 3:37 p.m.

Well KoF is CafeID's main game =)

Also like how they promote their game. Building bridges instead of walled gardens. They play other people's games and invite people over.

#91
Gotomaster said on March 26, 2014 at 4:35 p.m.

You think you wouldn't say that in regards to an American player? Don't be hypocritical.

#92
SAMURAI said on March 26, 2014 at 5:01 p.m.

Well, it's pretty obvious that American players can't compare to Japanese players. PR Rog has a good Balrog, but in Japan there are more than 500 better Balrog players. Dieminion has a great Guile, but it's nothing compared to atleast 400 Japanese Guile players that are way better than him. Snake Eyes is good with Zangief right? Wrong, he's nothing compared to 700 Japanese Zangief players.

Too bad we NEVER see those players at tournaments. They hide in the shadows or something like that.

#95
oro77 said on March 26, 2014 at 6:22 p.m.

He is right if he is talking about achievements in tournament.
Even if Tokido goes to a lot of major, he got still very constant and good results compared to Eita.
I am not saying that Eita is bad, he is really good with a very different Gouki but I think Tokido is still better in a tournament format.

Anyway it is still a pleasure to have Eita in a tournament, it has been a long time we did not see him. (Trying to forget his Ryu in Topanga League B)

#96
Gotomaster said on March 26, 2014 at 6:35 p.m.

Except, Japan has even said Dieminion and Snakeeyes have the best Giefs. All of these amazing players, I want to see them come out and do wonders in events, but usually when they do, they never clutch it out. Actions speak louder than words.

spotlesseden said on March 26, 2014 at 6:49 p.m.

so that means he is bad player?

Tokido is best than Eita. The true is Eita didn't really go to many tournament. He still have a very good record when he went to those international tournaments. He went to like 5-6 international tournaments and won like atleast 2 of them. Some of so call top players can't even do that. Like Mago, J Wong, Pr Rog, stanford kelly....

Guess what tournament is this.

1. Eita (Akuma)
2. Banbaban (Cammy)
3. Neurosis (M. Bison)
4. MCZ|Tokido (Akuma)
5. Amiyu (Gen)
5. AVM|GamerBee (Adon)
7. Naruo (Evil Ryu, Ryu)
7. eLive|Dakou (Ryu)

9. EG|Justin Wong (Rufus)
9. eLive|Xiaohai (Cammy)
9. KOK (Evil Ryu)
9. RZR|Fuudo (Fei Long)
13. Gachi-kun (Sagat)
13. Cafe|M. Lizard (C. Viper)
13. TH|Michael-tan (Ken)
13. EX Mamehara (Adon)

I agree for SnakeEyes, I think there are very solid Gief in Japan but for Guile, I am not sure we can find very solid Guile in Japan. I think they exist but we do not see them in tournaments.

For Bonchan, I also agree. The FT5 in TGS was not easy for Bonchan but it is almost miraculous he won with so many misses.Concerning his intelligence of play, it is too subjective to compare with other players, it not something you can measure.
