i hate it when momochi plays his teammates because i always feel like he needs to take the loss... it just p***es me off because when he and justin were in the finals of ceo it really did seem like he was sandbagging. and if he didnt let him win he would lose the sponsorship.

i think after the players he had to get through on his last tournament win he should be taking this.

I think that while it's time efficient to run ultra top 32 while still finishing later pools, the potential for not having a great match on stream is higher. Kinda weird the way they have the times listed. Though maybe it's a moot point since capcom fighters is streaming ultra exclusively.

Momochi beat Justin at CEO 2013 and PR Rog at CEO 2012 (I don't know if Rog was sponsored then)

Momochi beat Ricky at NCR and sesaon's beatings, I don't know if Ricky has ever beaten him in a tournament.

I'd imagine he's pretty dominant over Choco, too.

Seems to me that he has a pretty good record against teammates.

They're sponsored by Twitch, not Eventhubs. They have no obligation to mention players from Twitch and they're not going to mention every participant attending because that's a lot of fvcking people. Get the hell out of here if you expect that.

Then why did eventhubs even bother making a news post when the players were mentioned as possibly going to CEO ? They even made a REMINDER news post.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/ma...

Plain and simple they forgot to mention them at CEO. Stop trying to whiteknight.

@18 yes they are at CEO, Eventhubs just left them out of the news article for CEO or they are included in the "many more"

EDIT: looks like the news article was just edited to include them

You're the one that's chastising the author for only including some of the participants in his post. Key word: SOME. If you want the complete list of all of the participants, go to the brackets. Like you, everybody has a favorite player in the tournament, however, that doesn't mean they're discredited or deemed unimportant just because they're not listed above. Get over it. Make your own post with all your favorite players if you're that upset and worked up over nothing.

I wasn't upset about it. I was clearly pointing out they didn't mention players they had a news article about themselves.

But hey look what happened. It got added to the story. It was added a few hours ago after my original post because it clearly was an oversight.

It was an obvious mistake (which eventhubs corrected) and you guys are trying to defend it like they shouldn't have mentioned those players at all lol

Hey, I'm not calling you wrong. I agree with you on them forgetting to add these players; They are a prominent appearance, great highlight to the tournament, and add to the hype of all the other top players attending .

However, it's how you notified the author. A friendly "hey, don't forget about these players!" Not a condescending comment about how they didn't add the players in as if to imply they purposefully left them out and the author is ignorant.

Change your tone (yes, you can tell the condescending tone through your writing) and inform the author via a friendlier tone. This site is technically free. They're providing this service for free. It's also hard work with reporting and gathering data and information for these posts and it's easy to miss something. Treat the authors and admins with respect in return as they've treated all of the good readers on this site with respect.

That's because the "best" SNK character is probably Iori or Hibiki and they're ranked somewhere between 10-15 in this.

BAS......... the only game he knows is CVS2.. of course he will be "the best".. its like in MVC2.. now since all God Tiers left that game long time ago.. Khaos is "The Best" still Jwong got him... i dont know how are there players that are only good at 1 game? is because they have no skills to play dif games? or they cant handle more than 1 game? i admire Chris G.. Justin Wong.. Tokido.. Eduardo.. i think i missed some guys but they play alot of games and they are good at it.. so i can see they have seriously skill.. now if we say Daigo? nope he is only good at SF lol but its the only guy i would name as an exception to this ;)

i mean games that are popular at the moment and deserves a try.. marvel? kof? tekken? KI? injustice? MK? all those games i mentioned with a few more.. he tried and was beated by noobs? now.. explain me why Justin / Chris G / Pr Rog and Tokkido do so well on some of those games? i dont mean decent... i mean they can compete.. still i dont know why we talking about Daigo who i said is the ONLY exception even after all those fails attempts i mentioned..

Not trying to discredit Daigo, but let's be real he's only elite at Capcom games + Guilty Gear. But even for GG, I don't think he's elite... he's great but elite is a different category. He won EVO, which we all know American players suck at.

I watched the replays of those years, and the Americans suck compared to the elite players of Asia.

Just playing devil's advocate.

This will be a fun tournament, full of a lot of storylines.

Was Kbrad's success in AE 2012 a joke, fuled only by Cammy imbalance? We will find out here.

Can PR Balrog rebound after being embarrassed in Topanga?

Also looking forward to seeing how Akimo, Nishikin and Dunhill fare, as most casual fans don't know about players not on EG or the big names like Daigo/infiltration.

Overall, going to be a stellar tournament, and I expect Japanese domination

#57
rocorolly said on June 27, 2014 at 11:26 p.m.

You act like Capcom games are all the same thing. CvS2 has more differences between SF4 than it does to KoF. Marvel has more differences between SFIII than it does to Skullgirls. Vampire Savior is more closely related to KI than it is to SF.

BTW I guarantee, if they made an update to CvS with similar mechanics, BAS would participate in it competitively. I don't know anything about pro playing, but I highly doubt people like BAS would play something they didn't like for too long, and he specifically dislikes SF4, expresses it every chance he gets.

#58
SuperRoadFighter said on June 28, 2014 at 12:05 a.m.

When did any of them ever call themselves pro? Other people call them pro, but they themselves do not. And what do you mean excuses not to play new games; people play games they enjoy, and they don't enjoy playing the new games. Why do you think people have obligations to play games.

you got issues.

Those guys do well because well they don't have a job they play games hours a day so they are able to spread their skills across the board of various games whereas Daigo does have a job and plays what he enjoys like most people in Japan do they don't survive on gaming alone like players over here in America do. Its like someone who is active compared to someone who works 12 hours a day, the person who has all the freetime to workout right and sleep properly is going to most likely be more healthier whereas someone who is consumed by work and say if they most likely do some exercise will not be on the same level because they will probably be under sleeping and not eating as healthy ie. like a bunch of fast food.

#64
Bajas said on June 28, 2014 at 4:28 a.m.

Seen a lot of players say that PR Rog got embarrased in Topanga. Did you watch the tournament? I too thought he got properly owned just from the results, but when watching the actual matches you see that mostly even matches that unfortunately didn't go in his favour.

#65
GoldenTrophy said on June 28, 2014 at 4:52 a.m.

You're exactly right. Justin has only beaten Momochi when he was running with Cody, I beleive Justin had defeated him in two tournaments while Ricky has always lost to him and Justin has never defeated his Ken.

#66
gatts12 said on June 28, 2014 at 5:12 a.m.

And who the hell is Justing wong or Chris G? the first has done nothing notable for years (i'm not counting local low level tournaments), and ChrisG has been dominant worldwide only regarding MVC.

Justing wong has never been a top 5, in any games relatively to the international level, and he is a full time gamer, don't ever place in the same sentence a legend like Bas, with overhyped US players (on top of them J.Wong).

#67
TaokakaBOOM said on June 28, 2014 at 5:51 a.m.

Bas has done NOTHING for years regarding the FGC. Justin was a legend going back from the days of MVC2, and is still relevant to this day, winning MLG for KI just now, second at Evo for MVC3. In fact, has made top 8 since Marvel 3 inception. Your judgement is flawed.

na, Infiltration and PR Rog got embarrased in Topanga. Alot of matches are not close lol. He still use the new ex rush Tactics against Americans, but jp players can just throw him of it.

PR Rog's loses were like 7-2, 7-2, 7-3, 7-3. you really call that unlucky?

Infiltration knocked into losers in his POOL by Fourwude, an Akuma player.

Infiltration confirmed for winning this tournament.

Early on stream UltraDavid said he saw him at the venue.

Infiltration vs Fourwude was offstream? I was watching the world cup for a while, missed quite a bit.

"Ryan Hart. Considered one of the best 3 players in the world right now."

- James Chen.

*Edit. DANHILL eliminated in his pool? I didn't see him on stream at all.

Guess he lost to Justin Wong and Geoff The Hero/ SeeDogPoo?

spotlesseden said on June 28, 2014 at 3:44 p.m.

what? top 3? Just because he won couple of US tournament? He is not even top 3 in his region(EU).

Yea-no...

MajinTenshinhan said on June 28, 2014 at 3:55 p.m.

I agree that James Chen's comment was misguided, but saying that Ryan Hart isn't top 3 in EU is equally baffling IMO. Even though we have a lot of strong players here, I'd say it's fairly clear that, at this point in time, Ryan Hart, Luffy and Alioune are a cut above the rest.

#94
spotlesseden said on June 28, 2014 at 4:03 p.m.

Luffy and Alioune beat Ryan hart clean. ProblemX always beat Ryan Hart whenever i turn on a EU stream. I don't think i ever see Ryan Hart make top 3 in any of those EU majors.
It's always some Asia player in the top, then either Luffy or one other france player. I think all top 3 EU players are in France. Maybe i just never watch enough EU streams.

Damn. Dunhill didn't even get to play Justin in pools. He got lit up even earlier than that. Sounds like he went 1-2 from UltraDavid's recap.

Deejay/Sakura plz. BibleThump
