Daigo (Evil Ryu) battles Mago (Fei Long) in Ultra Street Fighter 4; Tokido faces Niroyasu's Dhalsim

Posted by Steven 'Dreamking23' Chavez • June 18, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. PDT

During a recent Topanga TV broadcast, MCZ|Tokido, MCZ|Mago, and EG|Momochi sat down to check out a set of replays from the Topanga Ranking Battles. These battles are being held to determine who will compete in Taito Station's USF4 Grade B tournament in October.

Among the matches viewed, a 2 out of 3 set between MCZ|Daigo Umehara and MCZ|Mago was shown on screen. Daigo runs with his new main, Evil Ryu, while Mago brings out his classic Fei Long.

There are a few other bouts shown during the stream archive, including MCZ|Tokido's Akuma facing Niroyasu's Dhalsim.

The battle between MCZ|Daigo and MCZ|Mago begins at around 15:00 in the stream archive.

I know on TokidoBlog's video, it says "Niroyasu", but I'm fairly certain it's supposed to be "Noriyasu". You can consult the video for confirmation.

Nice matches, TokidoBlog is a great channel to follow if you're on YouTube a lot.

I hope Daigo uses Evil Ryu as his main this EVO.

I watched Noriyasu fight Tokido over the weekend. The Dhalsim player could not be touched by Tokido's Akuma

As mentioned above, Eventhubs should check the contents of the video to avoid name misspelling.

Fei still dominating in Japan.

That frame trap Mago did with cr.lk hit confirmed into st.hp was awesome.

He switched to Dhalsim in AE,along with another Skilled Akuma that also plays Dhalsim, forgot his name but he was top sim in japan in AE with a no name card

It's funny that evil ryu is actually more "ryu like" than ryu is. Sure combos are obviously different and some normals. But over all evil ryu is closer to the other game versions of ryu now. I'm having allot of fun with evil these days, love his far st mp into target combo fadc corner combos! He's a boss!

so mago said that we would drop fei in ultra cause he though that he would suck, but fei is still strong so he will stick with him.i dont like this mentality at all.oh well i guess winning is more important than anything nowadays.

You can also have less fun when a character is weak. Sometime, seeing your efficiency drop can be a mood killer and make people switch main.

This! You are ultimately playing to win.

Can you blame him? They're all Pro players that their jobs.

The spacing in the Mago/Daigo match was ridiculously high level. Unfortunately, these two characters are probably the most boring to watch. Fei's always been boring but the more I see of Evil Ryu the more I can't stand watching or playing against this character.

Also I'm a little surprised that Daigo isn't going back to Yun in this version. At least the matches would go a lot quicker lol.

That's because Daigo plays him like Ryu and not very aggressive. Plus this game is slow and defensive. Even more so now.
