Posted by Jonathan 'Catalyst' Grey • June 16, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. PDT

The crew at VGBootCamp got quite a bit of hands on time with the new Super Smash Bros. game and decided to record the move listings for most of the currently playable characters for everyone to see.

These are from the 3DS release, and are recorded via shaky cam, but it's still awesome to see the rundown of abilities for the fighters you're interested in.

VGBootCamp also has several matches and some cool tidbits and discoveries to share as well.

Little Mac is a terror on ground, but terrible in the air. Looking forward to maining him though. I can see some good ground chains though.

Hmm... I have to ask...

Why does Rosalina's Final Smash seem lacking?

Sure, I think its cool looking, but they could at LEAST have the stars cause more damage and pushback. Doesn't seem like a final smash that will do anything besides get people to scooch over to the sides of the map for 6 seconds.

Still maining her though.

If the foes get caught in the middle of the big star they'll get stuck in there until the last hit which hits hard, so just make sure you set it up properly and it will pay off.

Don't forget, that the Star explodes at the end of its duration for massive knockback (and maybe massive damage?).
Maybe with a well timed throw into an exploding star it is a scary Final Smash.

Got to play several matches at Best Buy since my group went last, and I got to say, Nintendo has a Wii U selling gem with this game.

I have to main Mega Man, as I'm a very "defense oriented" player and MM has the tools to space, whiff punish, and smoke out campers. CANNOT WAIT for this to drop on both platforms!

Too bad Peach wasn't available for either demo. Darn lol

It's alright, there are many characters here that are plenty interesting. Thanks for the direct links, eventhubs!

That sounds sweet! It also sounds like it can be an amazing anti-air. I wasn't able to make it to either demo station, so I want to gather as much info about her as I can. :)

Thank you.

Is the 3ds version identical to the Wii-U?

3DS has exclusive stages that orient toward inspiration from portable-based games (Wii U leans more toward console games). 3DS also has the Smash Run gameplay mode.

The two play and control the same, the cast of playable characters is the same, and they should feel similar (though 3DS obv has lower graphic capabilities.)

Oh my gosh. All of DK's Christmases came at once!

Pretty much all of his major weaknesses have been fixed!

He previously lacked a front facing aerial approach option, since his f-air is so slow, but now he has aerial down + B.

He also lacked a front facing grounded approach option, but now his improved dash attack seems to fix that issue as well.

He still looks vulnerable to juggling, since his d-air is pretty slow, and he'll still struggle with projectiles, but that's fine, and DK looks to be absolutely amazing here. Here's hoping that he keeps his killing power from Brawl (He was REALLY weak in Melee) and that he keeps the range on his down + B since that move is the cornerstone of his ground control game.

YEAR OF DK!!!

I really hope that the Smash team would contact Grant Kirkhope to lend his voice for Donkey Kong again.

Much more personality.

Rosalie was very floaty when I played her at the Nintendo World event, but I loved her, her style just works. Megaman is a heavy utility character with many different moves for different uses if used correctly. Little Mac was devastating on a rudimentary level but I fear his hidden weakness is going to shine once people figure out his playstyle shortcomings.

Why can't you stop making Zelda terrible Sakurai?!

Zelda finally isn't "that character you pick to use Sheik" but she's still terrible.

*cries*

Some of these are really rushed and arent giving time to ssee how the characters do in regular fights.

Smash analysis outside when the game will actually come out is complete garbage. and Sakurai said many times during E3 that thing are still to have major changes.
