First look at TJ Combo's newly added Ultra Combo in Killer Instinct season 2; can land infinite amount of Ultras in current build

Posted by Steven 'Dreamking23' Chavez • July 11, 2014 at 12:48 p.m. PDT

KI Central is currently on the scene at EVO 2014 in Las Vegas and has managed to capture footage of TJ Combo's newly added Ultra in Killer Instinct season 2.

This is the first footage of this brand new finishing move, as the previous build merely had a placeholder Ultra.

In the current build of Killer Instinct season 2, (that which differs from the original E3 build), TJ Combo can land an infinite amount of Ultras using the Recapture mechanic on his Shadow Tremor special move. You can hear one of the developers say in the video that this will not be in the final build, however.

Check out TJ Combo's Ultra in Killer Instinct season 2 below.

Animations look a little cleaner now, that's good. Still needs a liiiiittle bit of work though. Can't wait to try him out!

I gotta say he does look like fun. I might be coming around. The face speed bag in the ultra looks brutal and funny at the same time.

no, the developer says at the end that it won't be in the final build.

And the animations have been cleaned up a bunch. Still not 100% (his face still isn't animated). But it seems like Iron Galaxy is showing steady progress.

The speed of his doubles are a little slow compared to other characters.

Looks a little slow. I hope he still has his machine gun for his ultimate!

Keits said, in an interview, that this was intentional, due to his combo trait. If they weren't slower, he'd be almost impossible to break.

It's hard to tell from the video, but I think I see some effect changes on the original cast.

The infinite ultra is hardly news, though. Even without the confirmation, there's not a chance in hell they'd put that in the game.

Combo looks so dumb and uninspired and generic looking.

It's like the guys were too cool to make him look like a 80's 90's boxer with a midrift tank top and shorts above the knees and a proper 90's haircut. He was basically a Lawrence Taylor/Mike Tyson/Apollo Creed in looks.

They totally went with MMA with his design with a dumb goatee.

He's like the black, aggressive, Abel.

I know, right?

You'd think he was some kind of MMA/Boxer hybrid.....wait.....
