If you take the time to put your dyslexia and presumptuous pomposity aside for a moment and refer to my post, you may realise that this was a genuine question, and not 'nit picking'.

I'm a big fan of the site, and if you look through my previous comments none of these are 'nit picking' either. If anyone is nit picking, its you looking through the comments to try and find a reason to get upset. Sorry to disappoint you!

Yeah, sorry for the stealth update, I'm just putting in the guys you are listing in the story :) We can't have everyone listed in the story (thus the "many, many more" listing), but trying to add as many as possible from feedback in the comments. I realise it gets a bit confusing, as in "Is this person left out because EH felt like it, or are they not attending?"

Trying to minimize that feeling as best possible.

#24
GiBGUN said on July 8, 2014 at 3:47 p.m.

A-Ru: Top Guy player
Taiga: Top Yun player
KOK: Top Evil Ryu player
KSK: Top Abel player
RF: Top Sagat player
EX-Pugera: Top Ibuki player
Kim_1234: Top Bison player
Maeda Taison: Top Balrog (Boxer) player
Shinba: Top Abel player
Sentosu: Top Bison player

For North America:

Edma

For elsewehere:

I believe that theses players should all be added to the preview list. Especially the players from Japan

Overall, there will be blood !! Can't wait

#35
dorayaki said on July 8, 2014 at 4:44 p.m.

I'm with ya on that comment. Here's why. The people traveling from across the globe to get here should get a little bit of attention for taking the long trip, especially when they are capable of getting top 8/16. Some of them, particularly Misse, said that that they are coming to try to make a name of themselves. I'm sure he's not the only one that feels like that.

It would've been nice to see a preview page dedicated for these lesser known players so that 1) they are streamed as opposed to joe blow vs john doe and 2) so that people aren't soooo surprised to see a "no-name" foreigner doing so well and call it a fluke when they beat the favorite local guy.

It also brings hype, which is overall the best reason.

Anyways, good post.

#36
hondahands said on July 8, 2014 at 4:45 p.m.

I see the opposite of Beast_Mondo and Remond_gief, I think the Europeans and North Americans are going to surprise a few people. I see upsets everywhere.

I predict if Both PR Rog and Daigo stick to Evil Ryu, they will be eliminated quickly, but if they stick with their mains they will go deep.

My favorites are dieminion, mike ross, daigo and infiltration.

Hoping to see F.Champ bring back dhalsim.

Wolfkrone, Smug , Ricky and Sanford will pull off some upsets.

2 Americans/Euro/Canadians in top 8. A few "hidden masters" in top 16, but more american/euro pros in top 16 than Remondo's hidden master will be present.

Predictions to take it all, Kazunoko, Infiltration, Daigo, Tokido, Dieminion, Latif or PR Rog maybe SNAKE EYES OR SMUG.

#37
gatts12 said on July 8, 2014 at 4:52 p.m.

KSK is not a top Abel player, he is more of a joke in japan.

EX-Pugera, i may surprise you, but for me it's one of the 2 best Ibuki in the world, maybe even better than Sako

#38
TheTTimeLives said on July 8, 2014 at 4:53 p.m.

Dang I guess Krone and Sanford aren't going.

#39
beast_gief said on July 8, 2014 at 4:55 p.m.

are you trolling?

When has an American won EVO?

NEVER!

That's right. Your "American Gods" are 0-4. And now magically Dieminion/Rog/Latif/Snake Eyes/ or Smug (LMFAO!) have a chance to win it?

Americans can't win tournaments with only a handful of Japanese players in it.... this is the most stacked EVO ever.

And rofl at Daigo being eliminated if he uses E Ryu... he's only the top arcade player in Japan with the character.

PR struggles vs Americans.

Top 16 will have a few EU/American players, based exclusively on bracket luck, but top 8 will be the Japanese greats with a few others, probably infilitration/Xian.

Once again, America will not win and the fanboys will make excuses.

America, land of the free.

Dieminion or Snake eyes to take it all! are you serious? do you play SF.

You're criticising Remondo, but you are way more idiotic, and i'm not talking about making prediction regarding tournament with more than 1000 entrants and where the winner is decided by FT2, completely silly and foolish.

Please stop posting, too much stupidity, is harmful even for eventhubs readers.

#47
Gotomaster said on July 8, 2014 at 5:12 p.m.

Smug is a non factor. He has the potential to win Evo sometime down the road, but you are right that he could pull off an upset. The only Canadian who can make top 8 is Chirithy, and even he is not on that level yet. Fchamp isn't even focusing on Sf4, he's a non factor as well. As for Rog and Daigo getting eliminated early with E.Ryu!? No, they will both do well with or without the character. Sanford and Wolfkrone aren't going to Evo, and Ricky too established to really consider any of his wins an upset.

#48
Gotomaster said on July 8, 2014 at 5:14 p.m.

Those two have a shot at taking it.

#49
beast_gief said on July 8, 2014 at 5:14 p.m.

To be fair you are only known for being Snakeeyez stepping stone to the finals, or counter picking in desperation.

Marq Teddy is unique-- uncommon character and cool style--, you really aren't, just standard run of the mill Ken with no results besides doing well now and again at weekly tourneys.

And Brentt????? Who is that lol. Some bad Rufus?

Please. They listed all the American's worth listing... dont get salty.

Good luck at EVO, sure you will go far ^^

319 entrants for KOF13. THAT'S why it's not getting much coverage and finishes before Sunday. I'm sorry, I have nothing but respect for the game and I don't usually make inflammatory posts like this. It was just obnoxious hearing non-stop what an outrage and an insult it was that it wasn't getting full coverage of pools and a featured slot on Sunday. Sorry, great game but it's just not as popular as it used to be.

Oh joy, HOW etrotman lives FOR THESE Moments. Back when I was a young man, we used to say "Punks jump up to get beat down".

I didn't know who to respond since my post garnered so many response, SO I'LL TAKE 'EM ALL ON!!!

Let me start by saying.... None of you seem to understand. I'm not locked in here with you... you're locked in here with me!

@Gatts12

Gatts12 wrote:"Dieminion or Snake eyes to take it all! are you serious? do you play SF."

Aren't you the same female who actually tells and boasts to people on eventhubs of her education level and profession while putting grammatical and spelling mistakes in the same paragraphs? If you put your education, career and IQ vs. mine, it would be like comparing my reproductive organ size to yours. It would be like the odds of Remondo's "hidden master" winning EVO, 11 to 1. Yeah. Who's next?

I leave myself plenty o' room for my spelling mistakes cuz I ain't trying to be Einstein, though I be way smartah than yo' dumb azz. I got nothing to prove career or profession.. you're insecurity is ridiculous for a man that writes only a lil' bettah than Remondo. dumbazz.

Listen woman, let me explain to you what professionals in Vegas and/or prediction markets (google it) do when they make odds for Boxing Events, Elections and championships on any type of competition... You cover the most likely to win first, but put in wild card or low ends to cover upsets in case your "horse" fail. You balance whether what you feel more confident with , the high% win that pays small or the upset that pays more. You put 6:4 to cover high% vs low%.

Given you are unaware that EVO is based on short sets (at least you appear that ignorant of that simple fact), it allows even for an underdog to advance for, or even TAKE IT ALL. Now the odds for the underdog to do that are extremely small, however if you watch the NFL, the lowest seed has won the superbowl twice in the past 5 years.

If you remember the "favorites" or even the top 8 for the last evos from 2009, you would have never picked the top 8. The only time the favorite actually won was daigo. Fuudo, Xian and Infiltration were not expected to win the years they won.

Gatts wrote: "You're criticising Remondo, but you are way more idiotic, and i'm not talking about making prediction regarding tournament with more than 1000 entrants and where the winner is decided by FT2, completely silly and foolish."

You are showing your ignorance. As I type this post, the red is showing all your errors as I copy paste your text. wow, you got your degree from an online school. A FT2 is EXACTLY why an underdog can win. It's exactly why an American, or possibly even remondos "hidden masters" have a chance of beating daigo, tokido or any Japanese God. The less rounds the higher chance for a favorite to lose. Isn't this the excuse Beast_gief and Remondo use since the Japanese have been losing the tournaments the last few years.. that FT2 is why?
LOL!!!

@Beast_Girl

This is the same fool that bet the whole Eventhubs on his knowledge of fighting games, lost on a poor asinine wager, then refused to pay.. The definition of biotch.

"are you trolling?"

My name is etrotman.

"When has an American won EVO? .... NEVER"

According to this jackazz logic, because a certain country/person has never won he EVO, it/he never will, even when the amount of entrants for America is near 10 to 1. You could never be a statistics teacher or premier gambler in Vegas. America has the most Named pros and most entrants, I'll give them a shot to take it all despite not having the absolute strongest players.

"That's right. Your "American Gods" are 0-4. And now magically Dieminion/Rog/Latif/Snake Eyes/ or Smug (LMFAO!) have a chance to win it?"

I don't know who your "American" Gods are. I only worship one God by the way, the way, the life and the truth. The american Gods in my view are Dieminion, Rog and Wong. The BEST being Dieminion in my opinion. I am just not sure how bad the guile nerfs will hinder him.

The Ft2 thing is the same excuse you use when Japanese LOSE. You say Dieminion/Rog/Latif/Wong can only win the tournament because it was a ft2. NOW you are saying that this same excuse doesn't count because it's EVO and we are applying it in the reverse direction towards EVO. Sit your short bus azz down.

"Americans can't win tournaments with only a handful of Japanese players in it.... this is the most stacked EVO ever."

One thing to be clear, I gave a list of players to win it all. I intentionally included Americans, Japanese and Koreans. YOU CHOSE to ignore the Japanese picks (note the Japanese picks are 2 of the 4 absolute favorites to win) and focus on Americans and European picks, simply because it's easy (at least in your limited intelligence it appears that way). Simple thought process for a simpleton.

"And rofl at Daigo being eliminated if he uses E Ryu... he's only the top arcade player in Japan with the character."

Watch and See, he looks pretty rusty to me.

"Once again, America will not win and the fanboys will make excuses."

I did not predict America to win, again I predicted SEVERAL countries to POSSIBLY win. Nuance escapes you.

I don't make absolutes on bets like you (and then lose and refuse to pay). I make wide ranging bets to cover myself so when after this is done, I can point to my STRONG picks AND my WEAK picks. I don't foolishly throw out "America WILL win". Learn from me, then you won't owe 100s of dollars to people on eventhubs.

If you read my post fully, you will see the intent was to make a wide range of picks , intentionally full of underdogs that are dangerous in addition to obvious picks of Daigo (The best player in the world) and Kazunoko (A "God" playing the God tier characters").

I even mention the words "upset" SEVERAL times. Your selected reading shows the unlimited potential and current level of your jackassery.

Spelling mistakes, of course, english is my third language, so let's try in french, my 2nd language.

Well have a good read, for someone pretending to be better than me intellectually, i assume you can speak more than one language.

Hey lady, English is my 16th language biotch. And there is little doubt I am your intellectual superior, education superior, physical superior and genital superior . I cover myself by intentionally using slang and intentionally poor english, you declare your intellectual superiority, then have spelling and grammatical mistakes more than Remondo and Foxington.

Here's how Google translated your BS. it actually did better french than you did! You had so much profanity in it I had to remove it.

"You spend your time to tell the big s--t, but my poor you will succeed to impress anyone especially on a forum dealing with VSF.

First you treat me as a woman, a willingness to try to belittle me, why? for you a woman is worth less than a man, strange as primitive reasoning coming from someone who claims to civilized worse you're insulting watches at a point beyond the execrable, this shows that I share my comment you're frustrated, which does not displease me, that was the goal.

For the rest I will not dwell on your case, your level of stupidity is such that is the point of no return.

A frustrated life, a dunce who tries to reassure trying to post on a forum or the intellect is at the lowest level, here for your profile, you're not fooling anyone."

Women are equal to men in every way but physical. I don't treat you as a woman, there's a difference, I am saying you ARE a woman. You can't fool me, we can all hide our gender on these forums, but your femininity rings out SOO loudly. Maybe Remondo can take you on a date, I believe he is male... I think....

Let's try to be serious. Smug is a good Dudley player, but he can't even win tournaments where there are no Japanese players attending. He's not going to win EVO.

Such profanity. Sexual exploits? I never told you I had any. I talked of my larger brain and larger genitals by quite a large margin.

You are getting away from the fact that I chose around a half a dozen players to win EVO using a large spread of players (the two absolute favorites included) and you sheepishly/foolishly/DumbAssedly/ButtHolishly chose that to try and attack any pick that was not a Japanese God. You fool, you can't build straw men with me, try that with simpler minds like Beast_Girl or Remondo. But no, you're the type of girl that won't offend her boyfriends.

Your knowledge of statistics is smaller than your ... LOL.

Read posts better madam, and you'll have less of a chance of creating straw men.

:/..Is it really that hard to believe. It was pretty short notice not evening a month before EVO. I mean the money is great but there are only 8 people who are guaranteed any $ and I can only guesstimate out of the 508 only about 32 players have an honest shot at getting that money so I feel like 508 people is a very good number especially after the short notice of the prize $.

I'd even go further as to say that before the big hub bub about the prize $ this was most likely going to be BB's final appearance. Off of that alone people should have come out to support.

By the way, there is a huge typhoon coming to Japan. I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if some of these Japanese players wouldn't be able to fly to Vegas this week. Unless they are already in the USA.

This hondahands kid is something else. The sh*t he says is so painfully awkward. I'm not sure if the comedic value from reading his posts is worth the cringes that are literally so harsh that they cause physical pain.

this EVO will be the most unpredictable in recent yers, too many good players and ultra is still a very recent game...nevertheless,i bet in daigo, infiltration and sako to be in top 8,and dont be surprised if smug or jayce are top 8 either,im convicted that at least one of them will have a great performance, lets wait and see what happens. And i really want to see that NLBC vs WNF,should be very exciting!

A little education. As I said my picks to "take it all" are "spreads" not absolutes. They are based on the following criteria.

1) America has the most named Pros therefor giving them statically the highest chance to win despite the fact they don't have the absolute strongest players.

2) America has the most entrants, statically they have the most chance to "Random" a "named" Japanese player out of the tournament.

3) America has the home team crowd advantage

4) America is technically in the "Not Japanese" category, which means infiltration , Chi-Rithy, ryan hart, Alioune And Luffy have a chance to eliminate many Japanese players paving a road to victory for the numerous "named" american players.

5) A ft2 based tournament is a leveling ground allowing more room for anyone to win.

6) Delayed wakeup has reduced the strength of characters like Akuma and Ibuki, some of the better Japanese players play these characters.

The picks to win it all are :
Kazunoko, Infiltration, Daigo, Tokido, Dieminion, Latif or PR Rog maybe SNAKE EYES OR SMUG. I will add Mike Ross, Xian, and A Japanese "Hidden master"

Kazunoko: Not the best player from Japan, but one of the best and playing the absolute God tier character according to the Japanese Round table discussion. His weakness is that many of the Japanese Gods can take him out. He is one of the least consistent among the best Japanese.

Infiltration: The most tournament able player in the world. If there is one player who has the calm and cool to win it all, this is the guy. Weakness: No more Vortex, if the infiltration of 2013 shows up, it's over!

Daigo: Arguable the best player of all time, currently probably still the best. Weakness, his absolute best main is RYU, a mid tier character, Evil Ryu looks Rusty against people of his caliber

Tokido: If anyone is better than Daigo, it's him. Weakness, no more vortex abuse, has been accused of winning simply because of that. Has admitted that he wants to prove his wins are not due to vortex, so there is doubt raised that part of his success is based on the character Akuma.

Dieminion: Arguably the smartest player in Street fighter. Daigo said this game "is all about fire power" in the latest Round table discussion in Japan. Guile has no firepower, yet this guy is the only guy that consistently beats PR Rog and Justin Wong. Weakness: Guile Nerfed badly, no real counterpick character, only does mediocre against other japanese, has taken out mago and fuudo, but daigo has his number.

Latif: A deadly player, he is on here because he is one of those players that can kill ANY other player in seconds. Has played quite some time in Japan. Weakness: has not played a lot of tournaments lately. DWU affects his character offensively.

Will continue on another post

Continued from #87:

Xian: Defending Champ, fearsome competitor: Weakness: Gen Nerfed Heavily

PR ROg: He's ALWAYS in contention in EVO. Weakness, does not always do well against Japanese, his Evil Ryu like Daigo's is not to the same proficiency as his main character.

Snake Eyes: This is a wild card pick, arguably one of the best giefs in the world, if he gets lucky in match ups, you never know what could happen. Weakness: Character is one dimensional, lack of international play.

SMUG: This is the player that no one wants to play in a ft2.. Arguably, has the best execution in the world. Can kill anyone INSTANTLY. Weakness: the greenest player, little experience, has no strategy, only tactics and setups.

Mike ROss: Lives and dies by reads, plays recklessly which means he can kill anyone, and has done this so many times in the past. Does big combos, EXTREMLY dangerous, has Gone to japan's god's garden and wiped out entire sets of Japanese hidden masters, only lost because of an army of sagats. Weakness, never won a tournament, when he makes bad reads, he loses badly. Always loses to American Gods, does not do much better with Japanese Gods. His character is now bottom 5.

Japanese Hidden Master: There are dozens of these, that increases the possibility they can win. They get to play regularly with Japan's best, that can only help. Weakness: No tournament experience, given the first set of hidden master's showing, this is an extreme weakness.

honestly latif has a very litle chance of winning evo or even to be in the top8,i mean he hasnt been playing "seriously" for months ,he himself admits that nowadays he doesnt play sf regularly,i think he must be a litlle rusty.jayce would be a better choice for top 8 imo, everytime i see him playing he looks more and more impressive, his execution with viper is simply amazing.i think that today jayce's viper is better than latif's one.

hondahands said on July 8, 2014 at 8:26 p.m.

You may be right, maybe Jayce is the new Smug, a new "hidden master". I put latif because of the reasons mentioned, plus he already knows what its like to be at the highest levels of competitions. But your point is valid, I made the same point saying that he has not played a lot of tournaments lately, that's his biggest weakness.
