you know a game is broken when unblockables seem like a fair strategy, that grand finals was sad...

It's hilarious how people whine about balance in this game, yet the top 16 alone of an INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT consisted of 27 characters.

Apologyman got exposed. Put him on the player 2 side to lower his execution. lol

Apologydoodoo got EXPOSED like the fraud he is. Kill Firebrand and you're good to go.

F.Champ uses cheap counter tactics, so he's pretty much a fraud too.

Bananaman was really fun to watch. After he lost, I got bored after that.

It's easy to have diversity in an invitational tournament. All you have to do is invite people who you know uses different characters. Now tell after marvel top 8 at evo lets see if you can say that again.

You know they basically know exactly which characters each player will use when they invite them right?

honestly i thought there should have been better matches on stream. The first 4 or 5 matches on stream was literally just Spencer, Nova, and more Spencer. I would love to have seen the Garrett vs Jeopardy match, and more matches from BananaMan. Speaking of BananaMan shoutouts to him getting 5th with Tronn.

You missed my point.

The point is that, at the very least, more than half the cast is viable.

Hold a MVC2 invitational and count how many team mirror matches you'll see.

Saying MvC3 is balanced cause it has more character variety than MvC2 is like saying Dee Jay is good cause hes better than Dan.

Plus this was an invitational tournament not an actual open tournament and a lot of these guys were invited cause they play unorthodox teams. Go look at the results for any recent major mvc3 tournment and you'll see that almost every team is top 8 either has a vergil, a doom, or both.

Whoa I feel asleep watching this tournament, guess I no longer need to look for SFxT videos for that.

I turn to the stream, then watched couple game of F.champ run away all games, turn off the stream. Atleast ChirsG rush down with Morrigan.

Except for the part when you realize that the majority of this tournament ARE the players you commonly see making Top 8 at majors.

The other people were invited because they're good players. They just happen to be good players with characters that aren't always the top 10 in the game, thus proving that they're indeed viable at a high level of play.

He never said it was balanced, he was just pointing out that there is viability in other characters and that the image of imbalance with the game is perhaps exaggerated or inflated.

True, a lot of tournaments have Doom/Vergil in top 8, but I think the show of some of the more "unorthodox" teams that were able to beat some of the top tier teams proves otherwise as well.
