Well, that's all included in this highlight reel, along with clips featuring players such as Bala, CafeId|MadKOF, MCZ|Tokido, AGE|NYChrisG, Mr. KOF, and many more.

You should give it another shot, you can play online on the steam version, and there are plenty of people in the community and on forums who would be glad to help/answer any questions you might have.

If you do then you should get the steam version cause SNK made the net code better on that version. Sadly the console net code is still terrible.

It's amazing how you guys speak of dreamcancel as if it's only a youtube account.

This is a video dreamcancel.com put together to celebrate the end of 2013. Please give them the credit directly by referring people directly to their website instead.

My 5 year old laptop played KoF at full speed, granted the background was static.

Whatever you've got, it probably works fine.

yes this is the truth. PLEASE everyone, its not hard to learn other fighting games.

Kof13 is really easy to learn, and if you have knowledge of fighting games at all you will be able to adjust in no time. this will make it easier for you

start button= starts game and leads to fun

Yea, you can learn the basics and have fun in Kof xiii, GG, and VF. You need a lot of skill to be a master of the game, but you can play and have fun. You're doing yourself a favor by playing this amazing game and not ignoring it for the usual mainstream garbage that's released, and we all know what that it.

I love that this is hype with HONOR. Not hype with BS like with most modern fighting games. Good stuff.

warriors said on January 10, 2014 at 5:35 a.m.

you can go a long way button mashing in KOF

i honestly think you can start with BM, until you figure out the system
and start to actually play the game

ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on January 10, 2014 at 6:16 a.m.

I don't agree. You might be able to pull off a few desperate moves and win against other bad players, but any decent player will have better control of the neutral game and simply frametrap you. You'll also get punished as there is no get out of jail free card in this system either. There are defensive options for all characters to get around everything so there is no "easy gimmick way" that can't be figured out.

You do have a small amount of leniency in the inputs and you have various ways of doing them, but you won't go a "long way" doing it at all. Just start small and work your way up from there by learning good habits.

Dat 10 yr old thou.... That was some sick ****, mad respect for the up-and-comers. But wow 10 yrs and dominating like that against the one of the best Duo lon's in the country... lol wow.

#26
sarvets said on January 10, 2014 at 7:29 a.m.

yeah for sure.... I just tell the people that there is no way to get worse at a game really. knowledge is knowledge! always has been and always will be.

Heres the main thing. You dont need the 4-5 meter hd into neo max to be good at the game. solid knowledge of normals and 3-5 hitters get you on the way pretty damn well ya know? let the rest fall into place.

But yeah of all the fighting games I play kof13 totally took me by suprise as the most fun to play. And the best thing is, once you get the basic system down, it becomes really easy to start using new characters and immediatley understanding what they can do combowise

Not a single "OH MY DAYS" in the comments?

#28
ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on January 10, 2014 at 7:55 a.m.

Exactly. Once you learn the basics you just branch from there. The good news is they all have lots of options and are fun to use because they are balanced and can kick butt. I've been switching characters constantly (which has caused me to lose more than often to adjust, but it's well worth it as you can learn your trouble matchups).

Fun, balanced, and rewards skill. The perfect combination.

NYCraziSalvi516 said on January 10, 2014 at 9:08 a.m.

LOL Idk if it THAT balanced but it is fun.

#31
ShinzoBishamon said on January 10, 2014 at 9:43 a.m.

It's way more balanced than any other current gen 2D fighter

#32
ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on January 10, 2014 at 9:52 a.m.

Yea and old school games weren't that balanced because you didn't have the speed and low cost of online updates.

I'd say Kof is the most balanced 2d fighter. Every character viable and no character bad. It's right there with Virtua Fighter 5 for balanced, both are legit in my book for sure.

#33
Wardog said on January 10, 2014 at 11:01 a.m.

That goes for any fighting games 2D or 3D, its just comes down to staying commented and learning from your wins/loses.

#34
ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on January 10, 2014 at 11:45 a.m.

Absolutely you start from the basics and branch off in everything. It all comes down to the reward at the end and what you prefer and what games reward more skill and have more balance. Once you find what works for you, have at it.

tortoos said on January 10, 2014 at 12:26 p.m.

You really can't get far button mashing in KoF. A lot of people who play online are really terrible at the game from what I understand. To actually play at a high level requires a lot of practice. If you just mash buttons against an experienced player you'll get blown the hell up. KoF is an honest game. If you don't play honestly, you'll get destroyed by a player who knows what they are doing. Even someone like me, who I think is just decent at the game, can blow you up if you try dping in my face if I have the meter to punish you. This is a game where you can get 90% combo'd for mashing out a dp. Play smart and play honest.

#36
ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on January 10, 2014 at 12:38 p.m.

Yea and the "reward" for that dp is only about 100 or so damage max so it isn't even worth it. It's harder to do in the first place with the added blockstun and tighter reversals. Many players actually have a hard time starting up online since many players were just really good players that transitioned over to PC from Xbox and PS3 and often you'll find some offline tourney players too. Best to just play the right way and think your way through.
