In that case, I wish he had a daughter who's getting married soon. I have so many FG related favours I could ask him.

He did Gamerbee dirty at Topanga League, never seen him get dismantled like that.

@#3 Player with best execution worldwide is an accurate statement, best player worldwide is pretty debatable I think.

Agree with you, never count Daigo and Haitani out.

Godlike okizeme, insane execution, this guy is just too much. Looking forward to USF4. I'm glad that Hori sponsors such a player.
btw at 15:40 in the video, extremely cool stuff

Every time I watch this guy play I get this odd feeling that he helped design the games hit boxes or works for Capcom. He is just too good and knows so much about the game. He seems to know everyones hit boxes and how to dance in and out of them perfectly.

Weltall said on February 17, 2014 at 3:49 p.m.

He is easily the best in the world IMO. He has totally dismantled Daigo more than once when it counts.

If i could only figure out that niconico stream. That topanga league is too good.

It's not that I missed it; it's that my video only covers footage from EVO2012 to Capcom Cup. Godsgarden 4 is an older tournament, and this clip is included in the original The Best of Sako video, by AnomuraSe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgEoS3... - check it out, it's pretty awesome!

Anyway, thanks Eventhubs! I hope everyone enjoy the video!

It's interesting actually how different a Daigo highlight reel is compared to a Sako one. The Sako ones focus a lot on the stuff after the first hit connects, whereas the Daigo stuff shows what happens inbetween (not to say that the Sako reel doesn't have that as well).

Still, can't fault a man for playing to his strengths, and by god is his execution strong (though I'd admire it more if he didn't plink everything).

Pachendrix said on February 17, 2014 at 4:38 p.m.

Daigo of course is the greatest of all time. But Sako is definitely #2. And God only knows how much better he'll get once Ultra gets rid of most of the shenanigans that help some of the other "top players" at tournaments, and have to rely more on pure fundamentals. Daigo vs Sako EVO2K14 finals, Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!

You win by flash and you lose by flash. He is one of the best and I know he would have my number before he even saw me. I just hope he keeps it up, he is hands down the most electrifying man in fighting games, if you smelllalalalalalalalow.

thats why sako did better than daigo in almost every tournament they both entered right? :>

Right now, sako is the best player in the world, but let see what happen on EVO2k14

#22
Gotomaster said on February 17, 2014 at 5:33 p.m.

Sako has dismantled those two on numerous occasions, he's that good. If Sako is comfortable, he's invincible. His Topanga League massacre is just proof.

#23
TheTHCGamer said on February 17, 2014 at 5:37 p.m.

Daigo is the best all time but those of you saying he's this best currently are trippin. Yes he's still one of the best but some of you really are letting Daigo's past accomplishments cloud your judgement. I'd say Daigo is easily top 10 right now but I'd put Sako top 3.

#24
Gotomaster said on February 17, 2014 at 5:52 p.m.

Daigo is easily top 3 as well.

#25
Celerons21 said on February 17, 2014 at 5:53 p.m.

I agree, Sako in long sets in untouchable. Best player hands down.

#26

Then why Sako never won any EVO?

#27
kingmedicine said on February 17, 2014 at 6:16 p.m.

Damn, sako with the marvel combos just gotta watch and wait for it to end, never get tired of watching this guy.

#28
caruga said on February 17, 2014 at 6:18 p.m.

Mopping the floor with Infiltration and Xian in long sets is only a few months old. It will take quite a lot of 'mediocre' second or third-placing to wipe that from our memories.

#29
Umbrage said on February 17, 2014 at 6:36 p.m.

Sako's a god damn bully

#30
Green016 said on February 17, 2014 at 6:38 p.m.

Damn, imo if Sako were to pick any character he would be the best in the world with that character other than maybe Ryu cause of Daigo. It's just ridiculous how good this guy is and he makes it looks easy.

On another note, thx to Sako everyone is on the Evil Ryu bandwagon and I'm actually sick of seeing that character. Online is now filled with Evil Ryu scrubs and I'm sure it will be even worse when Ultra drops.

And to the person saying Daigo is top 10? Lol, are u serious? He's still probably 1 or maybe 2 at the lowest and I'd love to see who's in your top 10.

#31
spotlesseden said on February 17, 2014 at 7:06 p.m.

those Evil Ryu on Rufus combo. lol

#32
gklaus19 said on February 17, 2014 at 7:19 p.m.

In the last Topanga League he didn't reach top 5 or 6, Daigo is more consistent than Sako in terms of tournament, and Haitini is all about reads.

#33
tktktk43 said on February 17, 2014 at 8:18 p.m.

Right this moment the top three in my book are Infiltration, Sako and S. Kelly. People got over the fact that they were fighting "the beast" and as soon as that happen, he stops winning. Daigo is no longer the best because people no longer show him the fear and respect they use to.

#34
spotlesseden said on February 17, 2014 at 8:28 p.m.

yeah, then you name people that stop winning on your top 3. like S.Kelly. What do he won last year? Atleast Daigo won big 30k major with tons of top players like Xian, tokido, gamerbee, ect.

You should atleast include Xian because he has most winning last year. Infiltration is stopping winning also.

I think Sako was demoted to League B League now

#35
spotlesseden said on February 17, 2014 at 8:34 p.m.

yeah, i just checked. sako, Haitani and Mago are dropped to B league.

well, my top 5 goes to Xian daigo infiltration, sako and bonchan in any order, no disrespect intended but I think it's a joke S Kelly is in your top 3 =(

S.Kelly still a great player though, but until he defeats the likes of sako daigo like wao, hard to judge just because he won a American major

Daigo is no longer the best because ryu is no longer top tier now (after ssf4), characters matters a lot, to put it simply, no one is the best because no one is winning as consistently as before, they are all one of the best lol...

#44
bananainsaneface said on February 18, 2014 at 12:47 a.m.

And everyone else in Topanga League pooped on Sako and he got sent to the B league. And lets not forget that Infiltration destroyed him to. So how is Sako the best again?

#45
Sasuga said on February 18, 2014 at 12:48 a.m.

USF4 will be Sako Edition.

#46
Santaclaus said on February 18, 2014 at 1:18 a.m.

agreed.

IMHO it's 1 Daigo 2 Sako, 3 Infiltration, 4 Tokido

also to everyone sako always dismantles daigo....its just not true, there are also many, many occasions where its the other way around

one example is http://shoryuken.com/2012/04/14/ssfiv...

doesn't take away that I love them both and I enjoy watching them both just as much, maybe I am the only one but I don't only think that doing fantastic combo's in a match is worth watching. I like it just as well, maybe even more, to see someone play extreme metagame.

all in all I think there are just about 3 main "fanboy" groups atm. Daigo is greatest of all time group, Sako is greatest of all time group and Infiltration is greatest of all time group. (and understandibly so because all these players are amazing)

oh and then there is the niche old top 3S players fanboys.

it is interesting however that all non-daigo fan's seem to be more hellbent on putting daigo down than it is the other way around, which might be a bit understandable because some Daigo fanboys realy were annoying in the past, but tbh, the daigo bashing, just because it's daigo and he's popular is pretty fokking annoying too.

let's just all have our oppinions and enjoy all the top players :) (except Chris G 'cause he's a douche) j/k

Just 4 japaneses gamers have 1ms latency combo: fuudo, eita, daigo and sako. Others have 2ms

#48
CaptainPlanet said on February 18, 2014 at 4:21 a.m.

In the end it does not really matter who the #1,#2 or #3 is in the world. We can all agree on who great players are. Like Daigo, Sako, me and many others ^_^

#49
nebbiez said on February 18, 2014 at 4:43 a.m.

You guys and your bickering about who's number 1, who's the top 3, who's better than Daigo...it's just so stupid. It's like arguing over who the best football, basketball or ice hockey team is - everyone is just going to give their own biased opinion. And just like in those team sports...there is no 'best in the world' because even the teams on top of the league tables can lose to much lesser teams. It changes all the time and is circumstancial. Nothing is clear cut facts so all you're doing is arguing over each others' opinions. You may as well be playing the 'my dad could beat up your dad' game

#50
caruga said on February 18, 2014 at 6:06 a.m.

#60
bananainsaneface said on February 18, 2014 at 9:03 p.m.

I don't get whats wrong with it. I mean in basketball for instance there is a clear cut best its the Miami Heat with Lebron James being by far the greatest player ever.

#61
MRN_SirFoxington said on February 19, 2014 at 10:35 a.m.

Does it really matter in general how old somebody is? 30,38, all this don't matter. Look at Alex Valle- this dude been around tournaments and arcades for decades and he is STILL around and hes STILL good. Age does not have an impact on your skill.
