Xian and Gackt added to Team Razer's roster, joining Fuudo and Itabashi Zangief

Posted by Jonathan 'Catalyst' Grey • February 3, 2014 at 6:02 p.m. PST

It was just announced today that Xian and Gackt have joined Team Razer, who also currently sponsor Fuudo and Itabashi Zangief.

Both Xian and Gackt hail from Singapore and have made a huge impact at Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 tournaments as of late, with their play of Gen and Fei Long.

You can find an official statement about them joining Team Razer after the jump.

“We are definitely honored to be part of Team Razer,” said Xian. “Razer’s involvement will place both of us on a global level and we just can’t wait to make Singapore and Razer proud.”

“Xian and Gackt are stellar examples of players that we want in Team Razer,” said Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director. “They have achieved remarkable results in the short time that they have been playing and they are great assets to the FGC around these regions.”

With this partnership Team Razer solidifies its support for the fighting game community and the teams that compete in the title. Team Razer supports teams that compete across a wide range of titles across the globe.

I wonder if Razer pulled them away from Madcatz or simply took advantage of their free agent status. Either way, smart move for them!

well that's cool, when xian left madcatz I thought it was a sign that he was going to slow down with competitive fighting games. Didn't he say he was only going to keep playing to play a year or two longer?

Makes sense since Razer has been sponsoring events in Singapore. Xian and Gackt would be able to have a closer relationship with them.

Congrats to both of you.

I know Xian stated that he would eventually stop playing FG's, but I hope he stays on for at least a few more years.

Clever move by Razer. Both players are marketable indeed. Not only their reputations speak alot, but also their humble attitude as well.

Good luck Xian. Pray hard that the Xbox doesn't break down in tournaments like what happened during KI.

Xian, Gackt, Fuudo, and Itazan. Hmm...

Kind of makes me want to see a team-based tourney, with teams sorted out via sponsor.
