Ken's teaser trailer for Assassin's Fist shows footage of his hadouken and dragon punch

Posted by Jonathan 'Catalyst' Grey • April 24, 2014 at 10:51 a.m. PDT

The Assassin's Fist crew has put up a new teaser trailer today for Ken. In this short clip, you get to see a little bit of his back story, and some training moments with Ryu.

Possibly most exciting to fans though is the first glimpse of Ken throwing a fireball and winding up for his dragon punch.

You can find the teaser trailer after the break.

Video from the Street Fighter Assassin's Fist YouTube page. Submitted by TaurusMAGNUS and Andrew.

Huh, Ken, the real copy and paste of any game I have never seen. Well he is American.

Can they just change Ken moveset? please. That should not be difficult. Come on Capcom

Great trailer btw.

I'm a huge fan of sf but IMO sf doesn't work well in the movie world, animated yes but real life looks a tad too cheesy for me man smh but this is by far the best I've seen... Nothing has ever compared to the original manga

I don't really like the special effects but other than that I'm looking forward to it. On a side note, wish Ryu had more muscle mass.

If they actually put the budget and time into making an sf movie like they do with the marvel movies we'd be set. Legend of chun was lame

This is the first attempt from these guys and they started with a fan made trailer. I have so much respect for them they are fans and they play streetfighter they will do this franchise more than justice They will make history. I have no doubt its going to be amazing!!!!! LETS GO!!!!

No street fighter project is complete without Ono, he should make a cameo in the background somewhere.

F-ck Adobe after effects for making everyone think they can do sfx and tons of fireball/lazer/explosion/gunshot fanmade videos with "high production values" coming out of the woodworks in the process

Funny how in the game hadokens and shoryukens are commonplace, but in movies/series they're always a big deal. Every hadoken is shinku hadoken and every shoryuken is shinryuken.

Agreed, the effects look low budget as hell. Most notably, people forget about light and how it effects the area around it. True hollywood effects would have the blue light glowing on the bottom half of his face and on his karate gi whilst also showing the shadowing on the upper face and background. Not to mention the use of soft focusing and depth perception techniques to show the hadoken is not just overlayed on top.

On another note, this is a web series?, I was under the impression they had the go ahead for a movie. I cant stand the 10 minute (7 with promo stuff and credits) short style. It leaves no room for character growth or story development and comes across as more of a "hey let's allude and reference a bunch of stuff then you fill in the gaps in your own time" thing.

Matografy said on April 24, 2014 at 2:48 p.m.

..Also that shoryuken looks like he's throwing a bowling ball...Just saying

FlynnChop said on April 24, 2014 at 2:53 p.m.

I think if you saw people popping out hadoukens like nothing in live action it'd look fairly derpy. They've got the right idea here.

I'll agree with others' comments. The main thing missing from almost all SF cosplay is muscle mass. Both Ken and Ryu were pretty built, even in the Alpha series.

Still, the makers of this series obviously have a lot of love for Street Fighter. That will go a LONG way. So far I don't think any of the "legit" movies in the series have had people involved who cared even a tiny bit about the source material.

So this is obviously the alpha storyline, does that mean we get to see ryu give sagat the scar?

Ken looks quite different from Ryu in terms of attacks, damage, combo capability, idle stance, and completely different personality wise.

And for the record, Ken is NOT "American" (Or Anglo Saxon if you're not stupid) he was born in America to a half Japanese father and full-blooded Japanese mother making him 3/4ths Japanese himself.

It's even known that Ken actually dyes he's hair blond (and red on occasion) as it's naturally just as dark as Ryu's hair.

So in reality, they're both Japanese...not "American"

This looks great man, I cant wait to see the whole thing. Dat SRK was so so deep. Thumps up to this movie, looks like it might end up being the best SF movie.

AugustAPC said on April 24, 2014 at 4:37 p.m.

That was actually f*cking awesome. I'm legitimately HYPED AS F*CK.

I hope this is as good as I want it to be.

Ken used to be my second favorite SF character after Cammy. Something about him in SF:IV doesn't sit right with me. Maybe it's the lesbian hair cut.

Anyway, this reminds me why he's such an awesome character.

Too bad the fire effects on the shoryuken look like NBA Jams.....booomshakalaka!!!!!

READ THE APPEARANCE SECTION

Or here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Masters
AND READ CHARACTER DESIGN

I can't find where i read his dad was half Japanese and his mom is full Japanese but i'm sure the FGC can back me up on this one. Saw one that said his was half Japanese but i'm certain his dad was half with would make him 3/4ths.

they dont want it to look like the sf4 characters because the muscles are way to big. Ryu practises in martial arts so he should not look like a body builder
