King of Fighters 13 is the next game to get the EventHubs tiers treatment

Posted by Josh 'theUNCHARTED' Kapple • April 18, 2014 at 4:55 p.m. PDT

We've just launched King of Fighters 13 as the next game in the EventHubs tiers section. You can now vote to your heart's content on KoF13 character match ups and discuss them with other EventHubs users.

Please note this section is new and as votes come through, many match-ups will be inaccurate, initially. Calculations happen every hour, so be sure to check back often to see how the matches are shaping up.

If you're in the know about KoF13, please drop that knowledge on our tiers system. And, if you know others that might have valuable insight, be sure to share the link on Twitter and Facebook.

This is just one of many more games to get the tiers treatment.

If you can't contain your excitement in anticipation of your favorite fighting game getting added to the tiers section, let us know in the comments below and we just might make it happen sooner.

Keep checking back for more announcements.

As much as you want to put the top tiers as Ex Iori and Benimaru, most of the matchups would be pretty close, 4-6 at most, no one can deny that KoF XIII is the most balanced fighter at the moment

Personally I'd love to see a game with a smaller roster (ala Killer Instinct or Skullgirls) get the tiers treatment, especially as these games are both becoming more fresh everyday at the moment with characters being added over time :)

Hey, EH, did you guys get my submission yet? I see new news but not my submission, which is pretty important. Just curious, sorry.

This game is tough to make a tier list with as it is very compressed as it is. I'm sure most people here are more SF fans. I'd likely take it with a grain of salt, nobody agrees on anything with Kof tiers at all except for the usual Karate, Kim, etc.

This is game is so awesome. Why did it end up with garbage-tier netcode? V_V Guess I'll have to try the PC ver. Cool as always,EH....

Hey! Nice seeing you posting news. Must be taking a break from all the work making the tiers, huh?

Great job, man :)

The PC version has much better netcode. I find it to be more consistent than SF4:AE anyways. Solid experience.

I have the game on 360 and PC, and got both version when they first came out on these systems. I personally think the Steam Edition netcode still sucks, but it's definitely a huge step up from the unplayable console version one, maybe equal to AE on PS3. (AE on Ps3 has the weakest netcode of all 3 platforms) The game is a masterpiece though, good to see EventHubs showing it love. Steep learning curve but once you get good at it and play with good players, it can be the most fun and competitive fighting game you ever played, even more so then a certain game from Capcom.

I find it to be fine as long as I don't play a 1 bar. I find 3 and 4 bars to be the best. I can often even play people in other countries like Canada and the UK. I think some of it might come down to the internet of some players and most people likely don't port forward either, which would help their connection significantly.

Either way I agree the game is awesome.

I love this game and the online is pretty playable on Steam. On 3 bars, its definitely playable. 4 bars? I can execute some of the harder HD combos reliably. Anyway, I think we can all agree that Mr.Karate is far and ahead number 1 on the tier list. Easily. I don't think anyone would argue that point, even the professionals.

Now i just wish this game would receive the PC netcode treatment so i could have a reason to play it more often..

ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on April 18, 2014 at 6:31 p.m.

It did....

Also I'd say Karate is at the top with good company, but the game is pretty compressed. He's up there with Kim and Claw Iori for sure.

Top 3 are indisputably Karate, Kim, EX Iori. After that it's debatable but there aren't that many dominant match-ups in this game.

#22
ShinzoBishamon said on April 18, 2014 at 11:02 p.m.

even that top 3 is debatable with other characters like hwa that can kill you easier and has equally as good normals and also benimaru

#23
ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on April 19, 2014 at 12:55 a.m.

Yea, Hwa Jai is no joke, Hwa has the highest damage in the game in a load of situations and has insanely good normals.

Bout time.this game doesn't need a tier list tho IMO because you can beat any character with any character. Its all based on your skill

Agreed.

Hey retard, barring collusion, a team with nothing but low tier characters will always lose in a tournament against anyone that has a team of high tier characters.

Good luck winning any noteworthy tournaments with your amazing team of Elisabeth, Maxima, and Terry against the legions of teams with nothing but high tiers.

Paradonyx said on April 19, 2014 at 9:34 a.m.

Someone states his/her opinion, youcall them a retard? Nice. Good luck in life with that attitude.

#28
ThaBigDaddyCMaster said on April 19, 2014 at 9:40 a.m.

That's not true, there have been many tournaments where players have picked a wide variety of characters and have done extremely well. In fact there are long sets in Japan/Korea where people just use random select (Woo, Reynald, MadKof) and win over and over again. This game is the most balanced 2d fighter out. It's extremely highly balanced and understanding the game and the systems are far more important to winning than simply picking top tier.

You also have to account for position. A Duo Lon up front is very powerful than 95% of the cast in the same position, including characters who are higher on the tier list than they are.

He's likely happy that Kof gets some form of attention on the site. What's good about balanced games is that the result is more player based than character based which is far more interesting and entertaining to watch and play IMO.
