Posted by Nicholas 'MajinTenshinhan' Taylor • April 13, 2014 at 7:17 a.m. PDT

Updated: This story has been updated with final results, standings and battle logs for all days of Topanga World League.

Reminiscent of last year's Topanga Asia League, this year a league featuring global players is being run. Topanga World League features top players MCZ|Daigo, RZR|Fuudo, Bonchan, wao, Infiltration, Qanba|Xiao Hai, EG|PR Balrog and RZR|Xian battling it out for a massive prize of 1,500,000 yen ($14,769) to the winner.

Hit the jump to check out current standings, battle logs and more.

Overall standings — Topanga World League Final Stage Offline Round Robin

# Player Character Record Game Record GD
1 MCZ|Daigo Ryu 6-1 46-25 +21
2 Qanba|Xiao Hai Cammy, Evil Ryu 5-2 48-40 +8
3 Bonchan Sagat 5-2 43-30 +13
4 wao Oni, Dudley 3-4 40-38 +2
5 RZR|Xian Gen, Guile 3-4 39-40 -1
6 RZR|Fuudo Fei Long 3-4 33-41 -8
7 EG|PR Balrog Balrog 2-5 26-44 -18
8 Infiltration Akuma, Chun-Li 1-6 28-46 -18

GD stands for Game Differential, and it's the amount of individual games won or lost as part of the multiple first to three sets played. In this stage, it is the second tie-breaker used to decide overall placement. For example, if Player A won 3-2 over Player B, Player A's GD would be +1. The first tie-breaker is head-to-head record.

What a way to start off the tournament.

Edit: And Xiao Hai going to go with Evil Ryu? I thought he defeated Fuudo convincingly with Cammy last year Topanga Asia league.

Fuudo beat him in Korea recently. I think if it gets close towards the end, he'll pull her out ala Infiltration style.

God, I hate Xiao Hai's style of play...he always goes for wake up/random ultra/uppercut when down on life. So annoying to watch.

#17
Freeyu said on April 10, 2014 at 4:26 a.m.

@Hasbiro, apreciated.

From the look of things Daigo had more patience than Rog. GG to the both of them though.

Infil with 'dat intermediate Japanese out of nowhere.

NO!! Man...Bonchan with the drop!!

#33
ltalia90 said on April 10, 2014 at 4:38 a.m.

Bonchan should have been 4-0 up against Infil. He threw away the 3rd game.

He's playing sick, though. carrying on from the last Topanga league.

'dat clutch jumping heavy punch.

#34
dorayaki said on April 10, 2014 at 4:42 a.m.

Guys gotta remember Bonchan prepped with Tokido. Infiltration's movement is good but he has no answer.

#38

#41
laxlightjp said on April 10, 2014 at 4:51 a.m.

wow infiltration got blown up in a matchup hes expected to win. Its going to be very very difficult for him if he hasn't put in time for his other matchups.

#42
Freeyu said on April 10, 2014 at 4:52 a.m.

Maan, I can't believe you got to play twice in a day. I can imagine Rog being real mindf'd right now..

#43
ltalia90 said on April 10, 2014 at 4:52 a.m.

Yeah. That was free.

Infil went about 2 for 50 in mixups. 'dat Bonchan and Dirty Tokido (and a half dozen over strong Akumas) partnership too strong

Sanford and Ryan Hart Sagat blocked pretty much zero Akuma mixups in their ESGN sets against Infil.

3-0 Japan so far. Get it together world warriors plz. BibleThump

#44
laxlightjp said on April 10, 2014 at 4:54 a.m.

Bonchan is something else.

#47
dorayaki said on April 10, 2014 at 5:04 a.m.

Naw, Rog did pretty well all things considering. If he plays at that level, he won't be last imo. But he tried to impose his style, changed only a little, but kept rush, rush, rush. Not good against Daigo lol. XiaoHai may not be ready for it though. We'll see...

#48
dorayaki said on April 10, 2014 at 5:08 a.m.

Got a bad feeling for Xian against Wao here. Wao seems confident.

#49
DenoK said on April 10, 2014 at 5:11 a.m.

So far wao's offline play hasn't been very convincing compared to his online performance.

#50

Wao's defence was on point, but yeah surprisingly little success for Xian there. Will be interesting to hear his thoughts on that set.

Nice adjustment in that final game to a more fireball heavy approach.

Wao/ Oni is so delicious.

#71

But Wao's ground game was tight as well, except when clutch then it's what I like to call calculated yolo.

#72
boulderabuser said on April 10, 2014 at 5:44 a.m.

Pr Rog is confident that he will win if Xiao Hai choose Evil Ryu.

#73

Tokido watering down PRRog for Japanese lol

#74
Temtt said on April 10, 2014 at 5:44 a.m.

I don't know why people are so surprised about wao convincingly beating Xian! Xian already played in the Topanga Asia League and did rather bad.

#75

two perfects LOL

#76

what were xians comments on the match? PLEASE TELL!

#77

#80
dorayaki said on April 10, 2014 at 5:49 a.m.

before fighting Wao, he said that since it's the last SSf4 tourney, he wants to get a good showing and wants to win (according to the japanese translation).

Japan is too strong

#84

The Cammy Rog match is pretty even, but yeah, she's still his main, and its still Cammy.

#85
ltalia90 said on April 10, 2014 at 5:59 a.m.

This has been an absolutely mauling so far.

Rog has broken the kid.

#86
BladeStunner said on April 10, 2014 at 6:01 a.m.

The only thing Xiao Hai will establish this tournament is show how good Sako is ^^

#87
RickyWong said on April 10, 2014 at 6:02 a.m.

Xiao Hai so ass why did they get him on this? So many better players.. Where's Poongko at

#88
boulderabuser said on April 10, 2014 at 6:03 a.m.

#94
boulderabuser said on April 10, 2014 at 6:10 a.m.

It has to be 4 from Japan and 4 from international.

#95
Temtt said on April 10, 2014 at 6:12 a.m.

I guess Xiao Hai got inspired by Sako's E.Ryu...

I'm not a big fan of Xiao Hai. Since he started playing SF4 he played the absolute best/easiest-to-win-with character in every iteration of the game (so far)- AE Yun and AE2012 Cammy. Now he has to actually work with E.Ryu and it won't be as easy for him to win anymore.
