Day 2 stream: Ultra Street Fighter 4 location test from Southern California Updated with archives from both days: The second day of streaming from the SoCal Ultra Street Fighter 4 location test has ended. We've embedded the archives from both days into this story.

The Southern California Ultra Street Fighter 4 location test will be streamed this afternoon from Walnut, CA.

Super Arcade is currently hosting a testing ground for USF4, and this is a great chance to witness some of the changes on stream.

It seems like all four new characters can combo into an ultra from an EX attack without the need to FADC.

-Rolento can combo into his ultra 1 from an EX Patriot Circle.
-Hugo can combo into his ultra 2 at the end of his super [Hammer Mountain], as well as his wall-bound throw > clap > ultra 2.
-Poison can apparently combo into her ultra 1 at the end of her EX Whip of Love [Rekka].
-Elena can combo into her ultra 1 at the end of her EX Lynx Tail (as Peter demonstrated during the stream).

In my opinion, seeing ultras being comboable is quite refreshing and changes the pace of matches in an exciting way, but I think Rolento and perhaps Elena should have to FADC to land their ultras. But I digress, this is a location test after all, so I'm sure there will be many more changes to come.

Rolento can also combo into his Ultra 1 after the EX Rolling attack but its seem to require a more precise timing, Dawgtanian did on a Hugo player and whiffed but in other videos, its connected.

I wished its was his Ultra 2 that was combo-able, Ultra 1 look so lame.

I liked seeing all the new characters being played. I am an Elena fan and I liked that Combofiend showed off her combos YEESSS!!!!

As an adjustment for her, her Scratch Wheel EX should be 5 hits than 4 hits (yes definitely fix it so it's smoother), the Lynx tail should knock the opponent behind her than away (so you can combo that as in Street Fighter X Tekken), and maybe allow her Spinning Beat add more hits on the last scratch wheel (like an EX Scratch Wheel 5 hits). Again this is just my opinion on what maybe they could do however, they will do whatever is best...

T.Hawk looks strong compared to what version we have now but looking at the things Gief now has and Blanka, he's definitely inferior to Gief now and Blanka's stuff from the notes shows it'll change to a 9-1 match up.

Half the changes are input changes, which T.Hawk players had no issues with.
Cl.MP,Cl.MP can already be done right now on hit.
Cr.MK cannot combo into anything unless moderately close on counter-hit AND ex-spire only.
Double ultra's a nerf as a comeback factor, why use it when a single fierce command grab can deal more damage than it?

You can see HungBee struggle still with T.Hawk playing extremely hard and safe. Mostly footsies(because really what can he do but try and poke and punish for damage?) and inspect Hugo as a potential replacement for Hawk.

Walk speed is the only 100% direct buff. Others are side grades and fluff.

I'll put it this way.

Lets say t.hawk is bottom 10% in tiers/effectiveness.
All characters get buffed about 10-15% including hawk.
That will still leave him in the lower percentile.
But only the other characters will get shuffled around very much because they were so close in terms of balance and have more wiggle room with each other. People know definitively how buffs or nerfs will effect those characters.
Right now hawk's balance is based on the opponents laziness and his 45% damage ultra.

Enjoyed the footage and the new characters look cool; the build is promising. However, I wish they wouldn't skip the intros, outros and winposes so often. These may be old hat to those guys, but they are new characters and I want to check out those quotes and animations. Anyone have a link to any footage where I can see some of them clearly? (I saw Hugo's match intro, but that was it.)

T. Hawk speed is precisely a huge mega buff. With his better far HK, he will be a zoning monster. Along with the change to his condor spire move (forward move friendly)and faster light DP, cancelable ex DP, he will have a much better offensive game. Granted Zangief looks nasty too, but T.Hawk will be much, much better than in AE.

I'm much more concerned about Hugo hitbox / hurtbox, grab range not being reflected by his 3D model. That looks stupid. Many hits, grabs, etc just whiffs even though it clearly shows it should land. There is no need to make the character look so big if it looks so stupid. Also, Elena animation is very awkward for now.

Chun was looking pretty damn dangerous! And Hungbee made T-Hawk look pretty damn good as well! Get Native or Kog on that and we'll definitely start to see his viability!

Not too sure about Hugo's Ultra 2 only being able to catch back dashes and neutral jumps (according to Combofiend). That's a bit silly! They should just make it like Zangief's Ultra 2; if you're airborne, then skies get protected.... Simple.

Ah, yes. Thank you for reminding me. I knew there was another way for Rolento to combo into ultra 1 from an EX attack, but I couldn't remember which one.

I also agree with you, Take No Prisoners is a much better ultra, in my opinion.
I'm sure it is/will be comboable, but it looks to be the type of ultra that will only connect
[in a combo] on grounded opponents i.e. Rose's Illusion Spark.
So, ultra set-ups like a low to the ground Stinger (for less recovery) > ultra 2 might work, or perhaps Patriot Circle [2nd hit] > FADC > ultra 2 might work.

Also, it looks like Sagat can still get a trade from Tiger Uppercut into forward roundhouse then Ultra.

Well its seems More than half of the cast is very strong especially Vega, Oni, El Fuerte, Gief, Rolento, Ken, Sagat, Honda and Viper they are the most ready for ultra but still too early i know more character will receive more buffs in later Builds.

Some things that I felt need tweaking:
- Makoto EX fukiage only jump cancelable on hit
- Ken's hadouken back to original damage, slightly reduced kara throw range, lp srk recovery same frames but redistributed (2 less air frames, 2 more grounded frames)
- Oni's hp slash doesn't crossup, just EX version
- Elena's EX overhead slower
- Hugo's ultra 2 catches jumps coming at him
- Gouken's kongo back to 2 zones or 1 of the buttons is throw invincible, far lk startup 4 frames, cr.lp +5 on hit
- Blanka's close mk +4 on hit, EX horiball also knocks down (maybe from the 2nd active frame on so it doesn't mess up with the fadc follow up),and able to fadc and follow up a regular horiball (not just EX)
- Adon reduce chip damage on grounded jaguar kicks too
- Cammy revert frame data changes, the reduced damage and stun are enough
- Rose increase active frames for fireball reflect
