Daigo and GamerBee's hype grand finals match, more SSF4 AE v2012 replays from DreamHack Winter 2013 If you missed MCZ|Daigo and AVM|GamerBee's grand final match at DreamHack Winter 2013, you missed out on a set many called one of the most hype they've ever seen.

You're in luck though, as Armshouse has already begun uploading clips from the Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 tournament at this event.

You can find the grand finals match after the jump, along with more sets from DM|Xian, WDM|Luffy, WW|Ryan Hart. If you missed the DreamHack Winter 2013 results, you can find them all here.

These are just a handful of the replays from DreamHack Winter 2013, you can find more on Armshouse's YouTube page. Submitted by SimSimIV and Eaz105.

Does this mean Daigo is back to winning majors or was this just a fluke?

HOW does Daigo do it??!! Dash up into your opponent's face several times with no fear and just uppercut like that??? How does he know that it'll work?? HOW DOES HE KNOW???

#12
Gotomaster said on November 30, 2013 at 9:34 p.m.

One does not simply win many majors in the past, just to have his recent one be a fluke.

Since Daigo bodied Xian and Infiltration in those FT10, he has been looking stronger than ever, and I think he's right now the best player in this version of the game. I really hope EVO14 is played again with AE2012 and NOT UltraSFIV, so Daigo can win again. He deserves it more than anyone else.

mmmmm daigo: he's a real man.

#25
fusion said on November 30, 2013 at 11:35 p.m.

It wasn't just do it though. In the previous set, daigo realised that gamerbee always hits buttons on wakeup. Be it cr. jabs dps or fa/bd. He hardly ever blocks.

This is why gamerbee rarely actually wins. Just block more man.

#28

All the above were worthwhile matches, but Daigo sure did put on a show in the finals. To Gamerbee's credit, he did not crack after a spectacular first round from Daigo, and kept it competitive.

Kudos to Energizer Ultimate Lithium for sponsoring the event—that's a legit sponsor. Since buying batteries is a fact of life for me anyway, I'll make sure to make it that brand.

This tournament definitely should have been the last qualifier for Europe/Capcom cup. That one Alioune qualified for was nothing compared to this.

I hope next year they make dream hack the qualifier for Capcom cup instead. Assuming these skilled players participate again.

If Daigo was in capcom cup in this form, those guys would only be playing for 2nd place.

Catalyst, you should've also posted Winners quarter finals between Daigo and Gamerbee. It was probably the second hypest set of the tournament:

SCOTLAND_GOD said on December 1, 2013 at 1:27 p.m.

I NEVER USUALLY COMMENT BUT I WANT TO SAY THIS... PLEASE EventsHubs stop ruining the moment for me by revealing the winners or whose in the grand finals!!! So many times I look forward to finding out which player wins in the tournament but the revelations in the title always ruins everything for me. Not all of us can watch all the streams live. Sometimes I can't watch a tournament until days after because of work etc so I want to enjoy myself, you always reveal the winners names or the finalists. I hate it, I want to find out myself with my own eyes and anticipation, the end result. I always have to squint my eyes across the opened page to avoid the info revealing the winners, just to click on the play button!; EVEN the youtube video has in its title who is playing and what level in the competition they're at! Which is also frustrating. Please fix this highly problematic issue ie by only giving an intro in the title of the news pages without revealing the winners or finalists or their positions, a spoiler warning and a 'click to reveal' results sheets.

Ta!

I agree with you there. Diago was exploiting Gamerbee's button-happy tendecies big time.

Almost like he was giving the guy a lesson.

#71
MKKhanzo said on December 1, 2013 at 3:11 p.m.

This. He was once invited for free to the SF IV Vanilla Gamestop tourney (and beasted there as well). No reason he should not be at CapCup.

#72
ryuhayabusa13 said on December 1, 2013 at 3:19 p.m.

Daigo already said that the reason he couldn't attend and sign up was because he was too busy to be able to make it.

#73
MKKhanzo said on December 1, 2013 at 3:24 p.m.

Forgot to thank you man. Really apreciated and wow I didnt thought it was THAT many ppl. I believe I heard early on stream that there were 8 setups to run everything? (Im a TO too so im asking to have some estimate on time per matchs etc, AWESOME that you ran in 1 day that crowded, and awesome tourney again)

#74
WorstGiefEVER said on December 1, 2013 at 4:35 p.m.

8 setups for Ultra, we had lots for the tournament :)

#75
keroberus2 said on December 1, 2013 at 6:47 p.m.

DP x4 on opponents wakeup in round one is. Dashing forward x3 times when he was already in Gamerbee's face after the second one and then proceeding to hit the DPFADC, yeah that is.

Stealing the first two games by the skin of Daigo's teeth yet again, like he did in the previous two games at various tournaments against Gamerbee, yeah. It's pretty hype.

#76
Aluppoj said on December 1, 2013 at 8:16 p.m.

We'd all like to see Daigo at Capcom Cup. He's the effing MJ of SF!

Can't EH run a petition or something? It's an influential site within the FCG, and would be heard by Combofiend and Capcom.

He should be there. End of story.

#77

The stream was so sad when Ghandi was eliminated :(

I have a friend that plays like that too, I actually mimic his style just to be more fair. But its so easy to beat him, block and AA is all you need. But that wouldn't be fun lol

#89
teufelsdroch said on December 2, 2013 at 6:36 p.m.

Why not?

Was the stream paid for? If so, I'm totally ignorant and I apologize. I totally understand why e.g. niconico should protect their IP.

If it's not a paid stream (or, even so, now that it's a week later)--what is the reason to not link stream rips?

Do you want to boost your own hits? Dude, we're a small subculture--evo top 8 reaches maybe 100,000. Besides which, I strongly doubt that you are turning those hits into money in any kind of efficient way.

Bottom line, if you *want to make a subculture grow*, you should *encourage a remix/link/commentary culture*. There are blogs and what-not who feel that they have grown past this stage...we, simply, have not.

ENCOURAGE the culture--maybe you won't get the hits, but you'll grow the brand....
