Damn, Injustice top 8 at 9:30AM? SF at 12:30PM? Why are mystery games and dive kick taking priority over the big games?

@1 because it's his tournament, that's why.

Chris G vs KBR grand finals, I'm calling it.

Damn.

It's Keits' tournament, so I can't really begrudge him, but FFS Injustice (as well as other, more established games) just got completely disrespected for a game that, to my knowledge, isn't even final.

Am I to take it that a beta (at least in this case) is supposedly more hype/important than a game that's had great turnouts and viewership?

I see no reason why that Mystery Game tourney can't be kicked over to the second stream, at least.
I guess I'll be watching this tournament a lot less than I thought I would.
I should have really paid better attention to the scheduling.

Like I said, though, it's his tournament.
If I want it run differently, I guess I'll have to start one myself.
Lol.

Looking more forward to CEO now.

KOF and AE at the same time? Dang.

Seriously though, the Mystery Game better be dope if it's taking AE's usual tournament spot.

Wow, when did Divekick become so needlessly convoluted?

It was good -because- of its simplicity.

What's with this counter-intuitive Zubaz lightning sh*t? These guys just don't get it. The game's ruined.

Is there a stream schedule for the weekend?

#9
Sanox said on May 24, 2013 at 1:59 p.m.

the injustice stream time , and no 3rd stream dedicated to the mystery tourney is just fail.

also ae on stream 1 and sfxt on stream 2....

i would take any game over those 2. ae was fun while valle was commentating though

#10
aegis_refractory said on May 24, 2013 at 2:14 p.m.

@8 I agree. The game was better (IMO of course) when it was more simple. The more they add, the more it becomes like other fighters.. except under-developed and with flash graphics.

@1 Cause its "Keits presents: UFGT" produced by Keits, starring what Keits likes. Featuring Keits, and guest appearances by other stuff.
I mean, he runs a nice tournament, but his self importance is out of hand. Hes been like that forever now. The tournament itself is great though, even if the schedule is wonky and the guy behind it is a twat.

No Justin Wong, No Ricky Ortiz, No Dieminion, No Flocker (No EMP people), No International Competition from outside of North America, Bananaken is there but he didn't enter AE2012. Horrible time slots for AE and Injustice finals.

I'll probably watch the Marvel finals and that's about it, but there isn't anyone there that can beat Chris G so why even bother.

Tom Brady and The Game is there for EMP. I'm looking to see who else went for EMP on their own dime. However for the most part EMP did not plan to go to this event because it was the triple header and that was just too much to move 10 plus members from Toryuken 2, to ECT 5 and then UFGT. We decided to break until June. E3 is around the corner and then there is GUTS in Boston and CEO, then Evo and the Grand Event, VXG.

@16 "the grand event, VXG"
Seriously Tri?

LOL, Sorry I really had to laugh at that. VXG will never overtake EVO as the north american "grand event." EVO is a fighting game tourney for fighting games. VXG is a game convention tourist trap with a fighting game tourney happening at it.

EMP_TriForce_GM said on May 24, 2013 at 9:34 p.m.

Over take? I don't care about the stature of what Evo's tournament is. For me, VXG is the grand event of the year... "FOR ME". Not you or anyone else. Insecurity is why you said that because to you Evo is the grand event of the year and that is fine with me. I could care less what the rest of you think about any event. What matters to me is what matters to me.

#21
Itachi_Goku said on May 24, 2013 at 9:43 p.m.

@MentalFloss
You ever been to VXG to talk that junk? Quit riding Evo as if its the best tourney ever. In a couple of years, Vxg will overtake Evo and more Gamers will come to the beach and party with hot females.

#22
irondragon said on May 24, 2013 at 10:17 p.m.

@21: No, he stated what he did because you phrased VXG as being the "grand event" in a general sense. It isn't even like you really did anything wrong, but if you better reviewed the way you talk most the time you'd get a lot less bashing.

I've seen too many times where you get HELLA defensive about someone saying something that could have been avoided altogether if you would have just elaborated better in the first place. Just think better about what you want to say if you want to avoid a lot of unnecessary backlash.

#23 so pretty much I'm under a microscope at all times and anything I say must be screened no matter how posititve my intentions are? Basically I'm leaving my general opinion in which in the sentence it did not say what was for "EVERYONE" but my view of what I thought it is. That means I'm a slave to other people's point of view. No thanks. They are going to think negative about me no matter what. People who do not see me in a negative light will view anything I say with negativity and those who see me in a positive light will view what I say in a positive manner. There is no changing that. I will not be a slave to what others think. For me, VXG is the grand event of the year. I not going to elaborate on it either. They either accept my opinion or not. Either way... whether they do or not it is completely irrelevant to me.

Yo Triforce, you mean well and people will crap on you no matter what. But I think you should leave them alone and let them think what they want, no matter what you say they'll still be ignorant to the fact and blast back. Just sit back relax, and let your actions as a community leader speak for itself. EMP has more fans then haters, it's just the haters who speak loudest. Looking forward to see if Tom can hold it down as champion of Injustice since ECT. Injustice has me more hype then anything.

Agreed. I think the lack of AE top players could have been EASILY redeemed by showing more of the HYPE Injustice tourney.

Injustice has 170 players pre-reg for this event, and since it's new and fun to watch, plus set in Chicago the home of Netherealm, it would have EASILY provided some memorable matches.

Promoting Dive Kick is understandable, since it's a community made game that Keits invested a lot of time and money on. But WTF is up with all the time dedicated to Mystery Tourney???

#35
VulcanHades said on May 25, 2013 at 4:07 a.m.

Keits seems... a little desperate lol. :)

Can't blame the guy, he just wants to promote his game and see what people think of the beta so far.

Honestly I think Dive Kick is becoming something other than Dive Kick. I understand that they wanted to add more characters with different/unique playstyles to make the game more interesting. But did they really need to add projectiles and DPs?! Why would I pick a character who can only dive kick vs a character who can vomit, fart and teleport on top of having 3 different types of Dive Kicks + an airborne DP? I don't get it.

We'll see how many people who aren't sponsored and/or have a free ticket actually show up to VXG. If I'm wrong, good for VXG. But somehow I doubt it, and insecurity has absolutely nothing to do with it. That kinda made me laugh as well.

And yeah, way to get super defensive about a simple comment. Even brought out the CAPS.

Anyways, that's all I'm gonna say on the matter at this point.

Back on topic that Injustice auction tourney was crazy... $61 Doomsday, $60 Catwoman, and a few $40+ characters in there too.

Afropower said on May 25, 2013 at 7:49 a.m.

@21 Why so serious? It would be better to not feed the trolls under the gaming bridge. When ever you rebuttal its like you have to defend yourself on what you said to a certain degree, instead of the subject. Dude I f_cks with EMP cause people of color, not how well you call out insecurities on opinions you don't give two sh_ts about. I like the sh_t you doing for the community and all but for "ME" I would like you to be more of a Leader and not feed the trolls.

#44
gammabolt17 said on May 25, 2013 at 8:03 a.m.

@43

And of course the best way to do that is to lowball internationals so there's nothing but Americans there right lol.

I don't know Keits well enough to have an educated opinion, but I swear dude comes off as a jackass more often than not. With that being said, he definitely goes in for the community, so I can't hate him, but he really does seem extra egotistical.

@40

You think it's good that every fighting game tournament isn't about the fighting games that people came to see? That makes no sense. Numbers don't lie. That is what people want to see. Just like people want to see Injustice at a more reasonable hour than 9 30 on a friggin Sunday. Injustice is gettin those same number, so why put it at a time that pretty much puts most viewers in a pickle? This is just to get artificial high viewer count for Dive Kick and the mystery game. Even though those are just the hours when most people would be watching anyway.

#45
DevilMaySpy said on May 25, 2013 at 8:19 a.m.

It's my understanding that Divekick and especially the Mystery Tournament get some of the highest entrants for UFGT. So that's why it gets the attention and placement on the schedule.

Which is the exact reason why all those other games get scheduled the same way in any other tournament.

#48
chipndip said on May 25, 2013 at 10:22 a.m.

You guys are complaining a hell of a lot about this. At the very least, AE, Injustice, and Marvel are streamed every single day. KOF, Tekken Tag Two, and Skull Girls didn't get a slot yesterday, and SF X TKN didn't get a slot today. Hell, Soul Calibur didn't even get a slot, period. Yet there's all this dang whining over games that you're ALWAYS gonna get PLENTY of at EVERY tourney, and you're gonna get PLENTY of every dang Tuesday through Thursday from Cross on Tuesdays to The Runback on Thursday. Every week. Talk about entitlement. Just watch when the game comes on or watch the archives. Or just don't watch it.

#49
jesuslovessatan said on May 25, 2013 at 10:43 a.m.

i find it funny that triforce is in here blatantly promoting his sponsors tourney (VxG) and trying to act like he isnt being a douche. listen man, you have been in the "industry" for ages already so you know that EVO is the main event. you know it. no getting around it. i understand that now your priorities are with the hand that feeds you but going on the defensive after saying "...CEO, then Evo and the Grand Event, VXG." Even being a simple comment on this thread you know what you were doing. i think the issue is with you trying to make it a "opinion" issue instead of the promo that it is. your not gonna change minds or preferences in regards to EVO so just quit the BS. "Its MY opinion" no sh1t, they pay for your whole team!

#50
jesuslovessatan said on May 25, 2013 at 10:47 a.m.

to be more blunt, Evo is the superbowl with the best of the best going against eachother for the grand prize. VxG is the vacation afterward that is the ProBowl. Nobody competing is really putting in effort cause they just want to relax after the long Evo season that prefaced it. they even have the same tropical island setting. nice try.

#51
Tainoaldo174 said on May 25, 2013 at 12:12 p.m.

#52
Kalio said on May 25, 2013 at 12:52 p.m.

VxG will NEVER be bigger than EVO.

The only tournament that might give EVO a run for it's money is The Fall Classic in three to six years after they built a reputation.

Other than that EVO is the tournament of all tournaments.

wtf is tri-force even wasting his time explaining to a troll why VXG is important to him is beyond funny.... its like explaining to people why Mvc2 is the best team fighting game of all time (until skullgirl 2 comes out)...

VxG and The Fall classic are the 2 tourneys that matter to me especially seeing how they disrespected the east coast for having Evo qualifiers (only 1 until something happen to where CEO got in but whatever) I cant wait until I get my moneys up and game tight enough to attend more tourneys outside of Final Round...

only if you guye new the truth about Evo then you would see why TriForce goes in like he does

#55
Dark_Pinoy said on May 25, 2013 at 4:07 p.m.

#56
EMP_TriForce_GM said on May 25, 2013 at 4:23 p.m.

What many of you don't understand is that this is not a Evo vs. VxG issue. I have a schedule and for me the grand event is VxG. I don't go to Evo anymore. Last time I went was 2010. I have my reasons why I don't go. I support my players to go for the reasons they want to go. However for the work that I do and future development plans that I have, the grand event for me is VxG. If insecure people want to take that as me insulting Evo, I could careless. MLG is larger than both Evo and VxG hosting 15 - 20k gamers "AT THE VENUE" but to me it is not the grand event because I do not work for MLG. This concept applies to Evo. It's your Super Bowl not mine. Just as VxG is my grnad event... not yours.

#57
Tensa said on May 25, 2013 at 4:43 p.m.

Anyways i think TriForce let all clear by now... he don't like EVO and VxG is the big thing for him, so why you guys care about?. He has his reasons just like anyone who likes EVO more than VxG. Simple.

SnakeX said on May 26, 2013 at 9:07 a.m.

Those of you b*tching about Injustice's time slot need to realize that when UFGT's lineup was first set the game wasn't even out. And instead of having it on the secondary stream, which people would have complained about as well, he took the time to put it on the main stage because of how quickly it blew up and to give it as much attention as possible. Would you have preferred it to be at the same time as UMvC3 or AE on the second stream? Yeah, I didn't think so. Besides, if you really can't wake up that early or are in an earlier time zone then just watch the archive later. It won't kill ya'.

Keits is one of the best tournament organizers out there. Anyone that has gone to UFGT knows this. It's consistently the smoothest run tournament outside of EVO, provides a ton of ways to relax and have fun between games with panels, a game room, and the venues he choose are spacious and he tries his best to have enough room for everyone and everything. Those of you that actually go to tournaments know how over-crowded and musty things get, where everyone is constantly packing into one area. UFGT tries to alleviate that.

He ALWAYS has the mystery game later because a TON of people always sign up for it and it's an absolute blast to play all the random games that pop up since there's no pressure on everyone, meaning it's another way for people to unwind and relax during the hectic nature of a tournament. I'd wager it's a similar deal with Dive Kick. No one has lengthy experience in it and it's still a straight forward game that values strategy and quick thinking, despite all the characters they've been adding. None of the recently released characters have made the game too complex, quit being babies.

Show some respect for the man, he works extremely hard.

Nice run CoolKid. I guess Chris G just picked up on your moves too quickly. 2nd ain't too shabby for an online warrior. Congrats.

Chris G makes the game look slow, but that's the thing: He makes the opponent play at HIS pace, which is extremely similar to Wong's.

So now Chris has 2 trophies. The next question is if he's gonna double that.
