XxMarshy's Street Fighter X Tekken Lars guide wins March EventHubs guide contest This month's winner of the EventHubs forums guide contest is xxMarshy. He will be awarded this month's $50 for his Street Fighter X Tekken Lars guide.

XxMarshy has written a detailed guide that breaks down normals, special moves, super arts, cross arts, combos and more. There are also sections included in this guide covering frame traps, mix ups and which characters work best on a team with Lars.

If you are interested in writing a guide for next month's contest or you're just looking for a place to level up and gather information, visit the forums section here on the site.

All games are eligible for this prize and this contest is held monthly. Feel free to send your guides in via our submit news feature here on the site.

Below is a bit from xxMarshy's Lars guide to get you started.

Useful Mix ups:

Crouching Medium Punch ~ Crouching Medium Kick (or) Storm Axle
Although you cannot combo from Lars' overhead, this is a useful mixup to get a little extra damage. Lars' BnB is a couple crouching medium punches followed by a crouching medium kick, so opponents will know to block low so that they don't eat a big combo, you can use this to your advantage by replacing the crouching medium kick with an overhead. This will confuse them as to which way to block which will allow you to get more crouching medium kicks into big combos from it.

Crouching Medium Punch ~ Crouching Medium Punch ~ Crouching Medium Kick xx Medium Avalanche Stomp
In v2013 this is a useful pressure string because it will force the opponent to block low then immediately block high, and if they don't block it in time you can convert Avalanche Stomp into a damaging combo.

@3 I was thinking about it, Lei is actually one of my mains, but I really would like to get my Lars guide 100% complete before I start any projects like that.

Just in time, I just scraped up enough cash to download the dlc characters and play lars. I am really enjoying the character and even though yang isn't in this game lars is a nice substitute.

@7 True statement, but it would be nice if I could actually play as him.

you call that a mixup guide?..
this is how wolfkrone plays in all his matches.
bloody goddamn boring. and his overhead is pretty easy to block
if you pay proper attention in a match.

Very good guide, unfortunately Lars has become the fan favorite and I feel a majority of this information is already known. You will be very hard-pressed to find a team that does not benefit from having Lars and such he has become one of the most popular characters in tournaments and online play. Great work, but very redundant information considering the lack of information for other characters in this game.

Marshy does that mean you plan to make a Lei guide after this? I hope so, looking forward to it :3

@9 Just because a pro uses mixups that are in the guide doesn't make them useless, kind of the opposite, not sure exactly what you are upset about. I don't watch any of his matches though anyway, this is all from personal experience / testing in training mode.

@12 He is a very solid character, has basically all the tools he needs, but from what he is lacking makes him not top tier.

@13 This is more or less a beginner's guide for people who are looking to pick up Lars, not really a guide for Lars pros, although there is some stuff in the guide that may benefit them.

@14 I will think about making one, I have already made so many guides though, I am a bit worn out.
