Updated: Ono has responded to a tweet about the upcoming PAX East event, where he specifically mentions that something is waiting for the fighting game community.KOAlliance: You have been very quiet for a while???? Are you busy working?
Ono: I had a lot of task for something new ;P I'll announce it in soon :D
Over the past few months we have seen various hints from Ono and Capcom at what could be a big reveal at this year's PAX East.
We have already received word that Capcom will be unveiling two new products at PAX on March 22 - 24. Ono himself has also previously hinted at revealing something at the event.
Additionally, in January Ono had asked Twitter users to let him know which game he should work on next. A few days later he Tweeted a thank you message to those who responded and posted an image showing off Street Fighter figures that may have hinted at a new game in the Alpha series.
Lastly, Error1 created an excellent PC mod for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 that added Rolento to the roster. Ono responded to this mod with praise and mentioned that he aims show it to Capcom's research and development team.
The possible PAX reveals could very well not be fighting game related, as Ono is also working on Capcom titles Remember Me and Deep Down. Still, there is a chance we may see something new for the fighting game community.
If Capcom decides to unveil a fighting game related product, what do you think it might be? Let us know below.

Seems like we get at least 2 articles a week about Ono revealing 'something new' when it's clearly whatever he's been working on the past few months. As usual, this thread will be filled with Darkstalkers and Alpha extension requests.
Im gonna go with Alpha 4 with 2.5d graphics again we will see
He will reveal that he is a woman... or Alpha 4
Want ever it is....i hope ibuki and elena and charlie make it.
@zombiebrian, really hoping your right man although i wish it was all 2d sprites.
I'm gonna say Deep Down. Either that or Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat
I'm gonna be upset if it's Street Fighter related. I rather see something get revived...like Rival Schools.
Who cares Wht it is ... We all know its gonna b some whack ass game tht will give "casual players" false hope..... I.e. like ssf4 and marvel vs capcom 3... Ohhhh and before I forget its not gonna b released complete ... A couple months later it will have a new up date and b called version 2014!!!
I'm actually curious. Hoping somehow its Jump Vs. Capcom, a new Darkstalkers, or Harada will appear with Ono to introduce Tekken X Street Fighter. Just fail to see why everyone wants Alpha 4 considering the Alpha series took place before SF 2 canon-wise.
@23 You sound like a broken record, rehearsing the same crap hundreds of other "clever" folks have come up with.
Capcom has been trying out lots of new IP's lately, so I think the chance is slim that it could be fighting game related. As always, all we can do is wait and see.
Anything with Yoshinori Ono behind it has my full support.
@22
wow, you must have more fingers than the girls you know.
It better be either darkstalkers or sf5. Alpha is played out. Sfxt has all alphas mechanics basically but better so they mght as well just add the last alpha characters to xtekken. 5 with some new game mechanics based slightly after 3. Udon has it all set up for them story wise to have most of sf4 and sf3 cast into the game now! Announce it for next gen! :D
SF Alpha 4 should never happen, move the series on already.
@17
I care about Charlie, Karin, R.Mika, Maki, Eagle, Sodom, and Birdie.
So talk what you know, sucka!
I wouldn't bother with an Alpha 4, unless it's gonna be hand drawn sprite work again. Otherwise, it's just another SFIV, except the characters will look somewhat younger. F--K THAT! I've said it a million times already, and I'll say it another million in hopes that it reaches Ono lol. May as well just add the remaining Alpha characters into AE, along with the SFxT characters (Rolento, Poison, Hugo and Elena).
Wtf is wrong with you people. For those who say that they need to move on from the alpha series are idiots... How can you say move on when they are on sf 4 and on the 100 crossover game.. It's been years... If not a new alpha game at least the collection xbla or psn
If it were to be SFA4 it would HAVE to be 2d (if it isnt it would only confuse and saturate the market) and Im pretty sure it costs more for capcom to invest in 2d. Also they would most likely have to introduce new characters to the universe wherein they would fit in the story. I dont think that would work with their already established timeline but its not to say it couldnt work. However its doubtful its SFA4.
I would either say its another HD rerelease i.e. cvs2, sfa3. OR (and the more plausible) DS4. I dont think its time for SF5. Since they are pushing SFxT some much they wouldnt want to flood the market with multiple SF titles when DS is a different property and would add to the market instead of confuse it.
I would love for a new Rival Schools or powerstone as well but I feel like Capcom doesnt want to risk putting those at as those titles arent as popular as SF/Marvel/DS.
I doubt it's fighting game related and if it is, I'm calling it as two new online editions of older games.
Didn't Capcom just post something about not making any old franchise titles til after Deep Down? Something about Using that title to work the bugs out of the new systems to make better use of the hardware? Maybe DS4 since there was a trailer or another ported title with online. I doubt it will be anything really "new". Not until notgen comes out.
Capcom also seems to do a familiar formula where they bring out an HD rerelease of a game that hasnt been updated in a long time and use it to help build hype and familiarity to the property and then release an updated sequel a year or 2 later. i.e. SF HD remix > SF4, MvC2 > MvC3/Ult. and now DS Resurrection > DS4. and in a way JoJos. that is my prediction if history repeats itself.
Remember Me and Deep Down are the 2 new IP's Capcom mentioned before and that we know Ono been working on.
I'm calling it now, it's Remember me & Deep Down. thats whats getting announced. Be great if it was DS4 or MVC4 (both would be considered new) but it wont be. And a so called HD port of SFA4 or CVS2 is not HD UNLESS ITS DRAWN IN HD.
The king of trolls,he's probably working on a mega man X street fighter t-shirt or key chain getting us all hyped for nothing.Oh brother.
@24 God,A new entry in the Power Stone series would be INSANE!!!!!!!
Release PS2 on PSN and XBOXLIVE with online features,pls!
i really really hope its a complet new patch for SF4 with all sf3 characters left, a lot of new stages and some new characters..sounds imposisible but i have hope. No alphas please, like somebody said above, sf4 has a lot of alphas characters...so , better be the ultimate sf4 version, almost like a 50% new game. until sf5 comes for new consoles.
Darkstalkers 4. I don`t think capcom would make a full blow cg teaser for comic-con just to throw out money. Making cg`s like that cost a decent chunk of money. And it was one of high quality at that. For those that might not remember it was the one with raptor rising from his grave.

What he said, what's the point in doing an alpha 4 ?
Might as well add the rest of the alpha characters in SF5.
#43
Never had a chance to play the Rival Schools and the Power Stone games.
I just want a new Dragons Dogma, a new Onimusha would be cool, I guess.
NO 2D
It's dead, obsolete.
I hope for some Darkstalkers 4 or whatever else in 3D
I've tried playing old games I used to. Darstalkers: Resurrection was okay, but trying to play 3rd Strike again was just boring, even Skull Girls is starting to be a drag...but I have not gotten tired of SfxT, UMVC 3 or SFIV yet so no complaints for now keep doing what you do.
I think ANOTHER street fighter is unlikley, we already have SFxT and SFIV, if anything a huge update to SFIV would make more sense. Also a DS4 makes sense since that is what everyone really wants right now.
We also haven't heard from Harada reguarding TxSF in awhile, even though Capcom is not making it, whos to say they won't help promote it like harada did with SFxT.
I also would'nt mind a brand new fighting game IP, something fresh to the Capcom fighting family.
I too would buy a new Powerstone in heartbeat, I think the market on insanely fun games you can play with three other friends has been stagnant for a while.
Ono did say that he was waiting to see how the new Dragon's game would utilize Capcom's new tech before doing anything SF related. So another SF won't be around for a few more years. DS4 is only a possibility if DS sells well, despite all the hype, DS is a little known franchise and people only know Morrigan for non-gameplay reasons.
If it is another TVC, they have a customer right here.
@78:
Dude, shut up! KOFXIII looks amazing, and 3S (a 15 year old game)
Looks better than SFIV. Don't get it twisted, SFIV is awesome. And though
I've come to accept the graphic change, I still prefer hand drawn, sprite based
Artwork. 2D > 3D Street Fighter.
@81
Calm down Luke. Of course those games look amazing. And so does SF4.
As long as the games play in 2D, with 2D hit boxes who cares.
I was with you back in the day. When polygons were so ugly they couldn't possibly replace sprites. But that isn't the case anymore.
Pixel art sure as heII is NOT DEAD! But plenty of good 2d fighters have got that covered.
@79 - Frankly, a completely new fighting IP is what I want more than anything.
Anything they do with old properties outside of Online Editions/HD Remixes will come with too much baggage and fan restrictions. And after seeing how badly they screwed up SFxT, I don't trust Capcom with a CVS3 or an Alpha 4 right now. Plus they can only mine the "new sequel/crossover" well so many times; indeed, I think CVS3 and A4 are the last ones they'd get away with, sales-wise, and I say that hoping to God we'll see another Power Stone or Rival Schools someday.
A new IP would give them more flexibility, allowing experimentation without pissing off an established fanbase that's waited 10+ years for more stuff. I want to see what they'd do.
From the PAX site. On Friday, March 22nd, Capcom will host their presentation titled 'World of Capcom'
"Moderator Francis Mao (CAPCOM) leads a panel of Capcom’s producers and product managers to share the latest details on all the upcoming Capcom games such as Remember Me, Lost Planet 3, Resident Evil Revelations, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, two NEW product announcements, and more! Up to 1,000 fans will walk away with a free gift, so this is a panel you definitely do not want to miss!"
Notice they said TWO new products. C'mon fighting games!
@83
You're absolutely right - It's just that Capcom was king when it came to beautiful 2D fighters (it's the reason why most of us in here fell in love with Capcom's work to begin with). I'd just like to see them make a return to the old days. Especially since tech is so advanced, they could pull off some beautiful sh-t that may even put KOFXIII to shame. I don't know.
@88
The grass is always greener my man.
That may be what you think you want. And I know I love hand drawn sprites. But I've also become accustomed to living breathing modern character models!
I've become used to seeing the expression on my characters face changing in real time to show emotion, fear of getting hit by that ultra!
SF4 did an excellent job of bringing that hand drawn character distinctiveness to a 2.5D world. And it plays crisp like the old stuff!
All I'm saying is stop and smell the roses. Cuz you don't know what you've got till its gone:)
Btw, I was the biggest SPRITE ONLY FOR SF supporter Pre SF4. That game made me a believer that the art we all loved so much could finall, faithfully transition to polygon.
I sure as hell hope it's SF4 with Alex from SF3 most importantly and I'm guessing another Capcom cross-over game
cadnexus> I agree with you 110% please not another SF Alpha game and like aluppoj said port them over to SF4
@91
HEII YES ALEX FOR SSF4 TURBO!
And I totally agree with you, agreeing with me lol.
Just add them cool alpha s.o.b's into AE! The sickest roster gets even sickererer!
Then add those SFxT characters, sprinkle on Alex = me standing in front of my tv throwing money at the screen like a fool!
Stop the madness all y'all going to do is complain anyway when he does announce it
htownboss23> we will complain if it's no expectations just to get a rise out of the fans and/or another SF4 upgrade and Alex from SF3 does NOT make it, SF4 just seems so incomplete without him
@95
They could also add Gill.
SF1) Sagat
SF2) M.Bison
SF2/Various) Akuma
SF3) Absent?
SF4) Seth
We're one boss away from a SF game with EVERY Boss?!?
C'mon. Roll out one last Shotgun Mega Update! SSF4 Turbo: Alex Edition/ You can't escape edition/ Hyper Bomb Edition/ At ease loser Edition!
Lol.
