Once again, Lab Zero would like to thank you and everyone else that have contributed to this campaign! We are unbelievably grateful to have such devoted and supportive fans, and can’t wait to get this new content into your hands.
Once Big Band’s story mode and stage are funded, we’ll begin releasing information to help you make your decision for the forthcoming Mysterious Character vote, so keep those contributions coming in.
Again, thank you so much for your continued support.

I'm gonna be honest, I was one of those pessimists that originally said that they would be lucky to just fund Squigly. Now here we are two weeks later and they have BigBand fully funded with 2 weeks still ahead. Congrats to LabZero you guys have some damn good fans.
mmm, sweet, im just glad they left a whole month window, i'm flat broke for another week, and i want in on that steam beta actionnnn
Keits is laundering money somewhere trying to get funds for Stanley the Shark Scientist.
I think SG team should donate all the money to Marvel 3, for new marvel 3 characters.
@ #11
You're the one who is stupid with that reply, I said 80% of the funds could have come from some rich (Skullgirls fan) individual and it is possible. Unless you can prove otherwise...just shut up and think before you reply. Majority of those could have been $10 donations and then dat rich guy made numerous of huge donations..its possible, 80% or not my original obviously stated that its likely some rich fan contributed most of the funds. Why else is the game so dead at every tournament?
#13 There are clearly 6000+ donations of different quality. There are "rich Skullgirls fans" who donated to the higher reward tiers but that's a minority. $10 donations from thousands of people add up. Plus the tournament scene is pretty irrelevant to a game's success(unless it was already big like SF or something), just in general.
@13 If you had clicked on the Funders tab at Indiegogo as suggested, you would have found that for most people the donation amount is displayed (mostly $30). Furthermore, if you are curious about the bigger backers the number of takers is also visible from the front page.
Everyone in the fighting game comunity should be supporting this campaing. Even if you don´t like the game, show support for a developer that listen to the comunity and makes them part of the development. Maybe the company that makes the game you like will start doing the same.

*implying that people who physically go to tourneys are the majority of the fans/players of a game.
Thats pretty sad if you actually believe that ignorant logic. The fgc 'serious' players is a small piece of the pie.
@ #17
Yes keep showing how stupid you are since you cant even read. I never said someone made that many donations, and also one person can donate numerous amounts of times and put different names on the site.
I made two donations using my paypal account and put in different names...so yeh you you're obviously stupid thinking you need a different email and credit card for every donation lol
I would have donated if the update patch was available on 360.
It makes me remember when the Homestuck Video games Kickaster was launched, it was funded in less than a day.
I'm really glad that the game got all that money, it's a great game so it should stay alive for a mong time.

Not Lab Zero fault at all, blame Microsoft bureaucracy. In any case, worse case scenario if Microsoft is still being incompetent they would just put the patch in with Squigly
@ 33
Coming from someone (baiken) who commented with an account made today and made their 1st comment? hahahaha troll account much? idiot.
Anyways check the contributors you will see 2 donations by me (one with a 2 next to my name) stay free and keep exposing yourself some more
Great news...shame i despise the look of this guy but hey, that's just me ^_^
Big Band has a neat design for a saxophone. They really worked it in there quite nice. In all honesty, I hope they release alot of them. Some aren't all that cool but man I hope the selection of creation isn't limited to 1 because Brain Drain and many others are just too cool and would warrant even me to spend money.
Big Band voice leak.

Shoutouts to all the people who said nobody would donate.
At the rate things were going, I figured we would get Big Band, but not this early. I'm still skeptical that the mystery voted cahracter will make it in though, but I'll keep watching
@Cinderkin No they will be charging people who donated but everyone ELSE gets it for free. Kappa
Actually they've said not once, not twice, but NUMEROUS times that the DLC Characters will be free FOR EVERYONE FOR 3MONTHS. The people who are donating are effectively paying for other people to get the character for free as they would likely have to charge for the character and turn a profit on it had a publisher paid for the DLC. However doing it through indiegogo they are making NO PROFIT. ALL of the money is going towards overhead costs for the development.
That said, the campaign is also bringing in news articles, and a ton of attention to the product which means increased sales for the game itself.
@Major_Dog Tournament attendance = / = community support. They aren't the same. Community support and love of the game can INCLUDE tournament attendance but that isn't the end all and be all of how "alive" a game is. Especially a game like Skullgirls which one of the major selling points is that it was built from the ground up with GGPO integration in mind (unlike the Capcom games which put GGPO support in after.) this means that ONLINE PLAY is going to be more popular than ever. As a matter of fact, Salty Cupcakes is an online/offline combined tournament.
Now on top of that, many people just love the art or the music or the story or the voice acting for the game and chose to support it for that. Then of course there is the PC crowd which has been pretty vocally supporting the game (and financially) and they aren't going to go to a tournament for a title that they haven't even gotten to play on their main system yet.
You can tell those know nothing about the Skullgirls storyline, if they did then maybe they'd stop making the ignorant comments.
The game isn't called Skullgirls because it is an all-female fighter, none of the current playable characters are even Skullgirls themselves. Look it up and inform yourselves, then you'll know the name of the game doesn't limit the roster to just females. There are so many guys in the storyline.
@3 LOL I love this so much!!
@51 Holy crap you made my day with that comment! Seriously thank you!!
Im seriously contemplating buying this game. one quesiton though. Will we have to pay for the dlc characters? wouldnt mind having to pay for them but id like to know
i bet he's hiding something big and dirty under that
coat, for all da skull girls to be afraid of..
@gako
the dlc will be free to everyone for three months. if you download em during that period they're free forever. after that, they are 5 bucks a pop.
@58 Thanks for telling me man. Looks like im buying this game next time i get some PSN money
congrats on funding for the next shat! here is an off topic speed drawing of dorm, modok and strider! I will do a skullgirls big band to celebrate in the near future. Long live FGC beeeeeeeyatch!
reminds me of a fatter version of capcoms character, Q.
So freaking glad to see they hit that goal, really looking forward to trying him out. May not be my main game but I'll have fun with it again. :-)
@Eternal - "Now on top of that, many people just love the art or the music or the story or the voice acting for the game and chose to support it for that. This is all pretty much me, sans the PC part for now (need to see if it runs well enough on mine, which shouldn't be a problem but you never know). The game's playstyle doesn't fit me (though I've had fun with it here and there), but I'm a huge fan of the artists that worked on it as well as a fan of the entire package.
My Paypal is being douchey right now but if I can get that resolved, I'll be donating ASAP for that digital artbook. <3
This is great news. I hope the support continues.
Btw here is a sprite size comparison between Filia from Skullgirls and Talbain from Darkstalkers (they used the exact same sprites in DSR but with a special filter to smooth the edges when they stretch it)
http://i.imgur.com/FvClYPH.jpg
Both of these are their native definition. (E.G. the size that they were drawn at.) Skullgirls uses Vector art to scale the image down to the proper resolution without losing details like the lip coloring on Filia. Talbain isn't even as big as one of Filia's SHOES.
Next time Capcom claims that a game is "HD" or has "HD Graphical Filters" remember, they are lying / misleading you. There is no such thing as an "HD Graphical Filter" and unless they redrew the sprites (like they did with SF2 HD Remix) then it isn't HD.
Major Dog making himself look like a bigass fool on here. Keep struggling, scrub.
I hope this new Big Band Character is for real....
It'd suck if it turned out that this was all...............
Saxophony!
I love the double standard that comes with this game.
Other fighting games: "Oh come on! Why are there only guys???? Add female characters!!!!"
Skullgirls: "Oh come on!!! Why are you adding a guy????? Only female characters!!!!" Never f*cking satisfied...
Did people complain about KING of Fighters having female characters? Or Super Smash BROTHERS Melee? Or when Marvel Super HEROES not only had villains, but Heroines? Or when Tekken TAG Tournament 2 allowed you to play a single character? Or STREET FIGHTER, and all the people that don't fight in the street? Or when Marvel vs CAPCOM didn't have Megaman... well, they did on that one, but STILL!
I've been wondering. Who's the main character of Skullgirls?
@90 well Filia is the closest the game has to a Ryu type and she's usually the first in the billing but she has no greater effect on the story than most others.
Just a quick question: Will this DLC also reach consoles (360 specifically) or is it just for the upcoming PC version of the game?

Lab zero artist stream whoring to reach that mystery character!!
God, I love thes guys
@ 92 IT will come out for consoles but the patch for it has to pass the PS and MS stores first and the SG team have had trouble with that in the past
