Daigo and Sako square off in Darkstalkers Resurrection - Strategies and moves for B.B. Hood, Jedah and Pyron

Capcom's Tomoaki Ayano and top player Nuki conducted a walkthrough of Darkstalkers Resurrection, which also features a casual match between HORI|Sako and MCZ|Daigo Umehara, who are testing the title's online play, even though they're playing in person.

Umehara notes that the title is speedy, without lag, but this match was hosted in Japan, instead of state side, where the connections are known to be considerably better.

You'll notice that the clip is spoken in Japanese, but while the translation ends up being a bit wonky, if you enable the CC option and then use the "translate" beta setting on YouTube, you can get a rough idea of what people are saying in the clip.

Here's a transcript of notable details via the always awesome Beast Note website.

- Capcom producer Ayano and Nuki talk about screen styles that you can choose in the game: Over-the-Shoulder, Retro, Arcade Cabinet, Wide.

- Although it says in the video that Sako is Vampire Savior national No.1, Sako had never won any major individual tournament. His best was top 4 in Tougeki 2004 (according to Famitsu). (He won pre-Tougeki 2004 5 on 5 tournament which is a team tournament.)

- On the other hand, Nuki was actually Vampire Savior national No.2 at Gamest Cup (where he lost to Umehara in the final). (When Gamest Magazine stopped, many staff went with Arcadia Magazine that later organized Tougeki.)

Combofiend and Haunts have also done another entry in their character strategy videos, this time for B.B. Hood, and IGN has new overviews of Jedah and Pyron. Hit the jump to check them all out.

If you missed the previous set of videos, here are links to the other characters:
Demitri and Morrigan
Jon Talbain and Felicia
Hsien-Ko and Donovan
Victor and Lord Raptor
Sasquatch and Bishamon
B.B. Hood and Anakaris
Q-Bee and Rikuo
Lilith and Huitzul

Most videos from IGN, first clip from Capcom, 2nd clip from the official Darkstalkers channel. Contributions to this story by Jmonster129.

Playing VS again must really bring Daigo and Sako back to their young gunner days.

I don't know much about Darkstalkers, well I actually don't know anything about Darkstalkers other than Morrigans boobs make up more mass than her entire body like that weird fanart of female Final Fantasy characters, but is this game worth buying? Why is it good?
7:20 One of the worst characters in MvC3 vs the Mermen from Castlevania SOTN. Cool cool

Vampire should have been at the forefront of their rerelease schedule considering SFAlpha and the Versus games, pretty much, sucked outside of the lame casual appeal it had.

Seriously who here actually liked playing Hunter over Savior?
Hunter is so slow and choppy it looks like there's missing frames that should've existed. If people wanted a street fighter type game there already is street fighter, it's why nobody played Hunter.

Should've dropped Hunter and give us the Chronicles version of Savior. But again they probably wanted to leave more cash-in possibilities of future DLC characters if Resurrection sells well.

#11, Hunter was actually the high point of the series' popularity. More people were playing it than would play Savior.

I think this may be the first time I've heard Daigo speaking, and one of the few times I've seen him smiling.

Combofied's character breakdown is the only one worth watching and unfortunately he only has a few up.

Are you talking about at your local arcade or on your PS1 or what?

Anybody that really played moved to Savior after it came out, almost all the tournaments are run on Savior besides some at small arcade events that play Hunter once in a blue moon for throwback sakes.

It's like who the hell still plays Vanilla SF4 or MVC3 when the newer versions are out. The very small amount that do play the older versions, don't even matter.
Hunter is an out dated version of the game.

If the purpose of the release is to get new players, why confuse them and maybe split up the community for no good reason.

Look at the comment of #3; people who don't know is just gonna look at Hunter and say it looks slow and boring & dismiss the game, when the actual tournament standard is Savior, the game that's faster with superior game mechanics and balance.

#15:
I'm talking about Japan in general (since that's really the only place where the series caught on), and I'm going by what I've read from people who played the series back when it was recent. Sales figures seem to back it up as well, as Hunter outsold Savior on the Saturn. The situation's actually very similar to Street Fighter Alpha 2 VS. Street Fighter Alpha 3; Alpha 2 may be "outdated", but there were and to this day still are people that prefer it to Alpha 3 because they're largely different games. Likewise there were and still are people who prefer Hunter to Savior. It's not really comparable to updates like SSF4 or UMVC3 that were mostly just new characters and balance tweaks.

felineki hit the nail on the head. It's the same as some people liking MvC2 or MvC1 over MvC3 or liking ST or 3S over SF4. VS wasn't merely an update to VH. They changed a lot and most things end up being personal preference.

Daigo and that "I don't like losing" fake smile!
I know that too well.

Anyways, Sako either has the best muscule memory or he's been playing DS over the years.

off topic: The amount of wrongly used theirs, you'res and yours really make me sad. English is my third language and I know how to use it more properly than its native speakers.
