According to Flash, my Elena/King team is pretty strong (on an individual basis). I buy that. People are still asleep, good to see someone's eyes are opening.

Maybe you should wait until a few FGC semi-celebrities have made tier lists and show them all off in the one article. That way there'll be slightly less bitching and we get to compare easier.

Actually as much as people hate Flash Metroid..this tier list does look pretty accurate, at least IMO. Don't know why he has Jack X so low and King so high, but overall I think its pretty good.

flash isnt really qualified to be making tier list. Like others have said, he's only a slightly above average player.

So lower tiered characters are not well-rounded? That's extremely hard to believe. Just because a character is on a lower tier, that doesn't mean they immediately have faults. It just means other characters do what they do easier and better.

But I do agree with his stand on King. He can do 400+ without meter easily, all of his moves do super high damage and they're good, he's got an armor move, wall bounces, ground bounces, multiple very good anti-airs, mind games with his command throws, fits with pretty much anyone who can launch the opponent way up (Like Cody with his Criminal Upper) and his costumes are cool as hell.
He should be called Bed he's slept on so much.

My reaction to this is pretty similar as far as King goes. Also, Asuka and Heihachi that low? We'll have to wait and see once Evo season is over.

Definitely the BEST tier list of this game so far. Tho, seems that Flash Metroid took a little sip of a joint and therefore placed King that high.

He got top 8 with Gief in AE, I think that's saying something

making tier lists for sfxt is like having a best smelling flower contest in a room full of crap. its not possible to make accurate decisions when there are outside variables like, idk, ITS A TAG TEAM GAME! how can you say one character is better than all the others when it depends on your team as a whole. i played lili since day one. now everyone says she is top tier. so i tried her with chun-li when these lists came out and they absolutely suck together. it depends on synergy, how you play and experience. i almost never lose against kaz, jin, or chun with any of my teams. just play the game everyone is good.

Well, I'm glad at least someone else sees the Christie potential. She is a footsie goddess. :)

But I really don't like where Yoshimitsu is on this list. How is he not well rounded? He has mixups, AAs, A2As, counter zoning and counter footsie tools. He has ground+air control and really good okizeme, reset and come back potential. Plus he makes a great teammate. And he is good at most ranges unlike some characters who can only really do stuff up close or from far away.

I don't know where I would put Yoshimitsu tbh, I win a lot with him and I feel like he owns a lot of the top tier characters. But he is still probably mid or high-mid tier at best. All I'm saying is he is a very well rounded character and should be on the right center of the screen.

How is Kazuya not well-rounded lol? He's top 5 at least too.

Team synergy isn't nearly as important in this game as others. There are no assists, and ideal combos are usually around the 400 mark anyway. This is still a 1v1 game.

who said Flash needs to be a beast of some sorts just to make a tier list? plus, the belittling of his skill is a little uncalled for. I think theres something wrong with Flash making a tier list but you guys are looking at it wrong.

Flash is known to make very early and brash conclusions and can never stick to one character for a long time. this is exactly why I, as a King player, was not thrilled to see him so high on this list cause it could mean absolutely nothing in just a matter of weeks. the one thing I do like about him putting King up there is that it means Flash isnt sleeping on certain characters as mentioned earlier in this comments section

All of these tier lists have Poison at a very low tier position, what a disappointment...

Ogre definitely is better than all of those characters except Kazuya. I would say Ogre is on the same tier as Alisa and Lars. How come there are people who still think Ogre sucks lol.

Why did Flash Metroid put Kazuya so low? Probably because he hasn't heard about EWGF yet. :p

Kazuya without purple stuff = A tier. Kazuya with purple stuf = S tier.

@46 its still important because if one of characters has no range and cant get in, the other can(just an example). also there are many factors. i wasnt saying that was it. even in ssf4 i played dan because i liked him and made him good for me. just pick characters that you have fun playing and you can make them work for you. everyone complained about yun and yang in ae and for the first three or four months i had nearly 100% win rates against them. play the player, not the character. all of them can be good.

Some things are made clear to me
1- Every Top players tier list differs Greatly.
2- Some Characters are being Sleeped on.
3- This game is Unexplored and needs time before making a Tier list.

I don't care how credible Flash may be but Jack is not that low at all. Not even close

Ok as much as I love Christie and think she is a really solid hybrid character, I have to say I really don't think she is that high personally.

Maybe Flash Metroid discovered some new tech that I'm unaware off. But it's more likely that he doesn't understand Christie's weaknesses yet. The thing with Christie is that she is only safe at mid-range. Up close she is high risk/high reward but other characters like Kazuya, Hwoarang, Chun and Law are low risk/high reward.

Man, I WISH King was as good as Flash Metroid says he is. I love watching him fight.

Flash Metroid is above average? Lol that's a moron's statement. He gets top 8-16 in multiple games with multiple chaacters. And has played many chatacters at a very high level. I'd trust his opinions about multiple chaacters before a lot of other players.

I wouldn't be surprised if King ends up towards the top. Maybe not top 3, but he sure is versatile for a grappler.

I agree with #42. Even though it's kind of true that teamwork isn't as important for this game as it is in something like Marvel the team is still more important than the individual. It's almost like a stance character, having two sets of moves and everything. Then there's the whole match-ups thing, certain teams have to have more or less bad match ups against other teams. It'd be pretty impractical to do a team tier list though so...

A lot of people also forget that Flash finds a lot of tech..the guy is abit of a troll but when he labs it up..he definitely finds some crazy stuff

If I recalled my memories right, so far among all the pros that listed their tier list, Law, Jin, Kazuya, Nina, Chun-li, Lili, and Hwoarang are placed really high. So many Tekken characters on top.

It's interesting that the Tekken characters are essentially higher tier in ranking against SF characters in a capcom game. Interesting.

I knew everyone was sleeping on King and overrating Guy, but King is not that great. I main him and his best damage and combo opener requires the knee which misses on crouching opponents and his only other way of getting it is to hit standing mp > Ex Konvict Kick xx Knee lift (which is a 1 frame link), he is heavily reliant on meter to get out of pressure or open up people, needs specific partners to set him up/set up (very limited) etc etc. Like most grapplers his whole gameplan relies upon reading the opponent, guess right do huge damage, guess wrong, die. He will be rated higher as the game is explored however he will not be top, nor high tier.

To those that said he 'counter-picked' his way to top 8, are you pretending that no one else was allowed to do that? That just makes Flash smart. When Infiltration does he, he is intelligent and able to adapt (Gouken, hakan, etc), but when Flash picks gief to take on the overpowered vanilla AE twins, oh well he is a fraud. Gimme a break.

It is still relatively early in this game's life to have any sort of decent tier list, but it is worthwhile to hear a good player's opinions. Flash is certainly a good player. You don't have to be THE BEST to be able to have an intelligible opinion. Evo has been so stacked the last two years that dozens upon dozens of pros or well-known players didn't even make it out of pools, let alone quarterfinals. Top 8 is nothing to scoff at.

The guy's about 65% talk and 35% actually good at the game. If he's that smart and does so much labwork, how come he can't consistantly WIN a major?

top 8 evo with zangief like half a year or so after picking up the character if I recall, and a good guilty gear player to say the least.

If you consider someone who can make top 8 to be 'barely above average' and you probably couldn't even make it out of pools, what kind of player does that make you? And how much validity does that give your opinion on anything Flash has to say?

he plays king, from what I know no other top players are playing him so maybe he feels comfortable enough about the character to put him that high? he certainly has a ton of good tools. I'm pretty sure christie is up there due to her good hit confirms and ability to be good in most teams since she has good switch tech.

all this list tells me is flash is free to king. honestly, LPN's tier list is a lot more closer to the truth than everything else i've seen so far and i'd say his credibility comes from the fact that he stuck with this game despite all the hate. from what most top players have had to say, it's unanimously accept chun is the best. generally agreed upon that law, jin, hwoa, kazuya are high tier and alisa, lili, dudley and guy are strong characters. outside of that, it's a toss up. the game is still young under the new changes and given how most people didn't even play this game during the dark ages (pre-patch) there's still A LOT to learn.

personally, i feel like this game is very similar to AE in that outside of top tier who DOMINATE the game, it's pretty balanced.

It's even more balanced than AE since you have 2 characters to help each other out.
