I disagree on Morrigan, as she is not that good when on her own or placed in teams without Doom Missiles, whereas every other character on that list makes any team they're on better. Would replace with Magneto, maybe Nova or Wesker.

Nah I think the only reason this one isnt being judged as harshly is only because Yipes never said that xyz character is useless, this list says top 6 and thats it.

really needs magneto right next to Spencer and it would be perfect.

Strider was average without Doom rocks in MvC2, but was in top tier (not god) because he goes well with Doom. No reason why Morrigan can't be.

@10 I'd put Morrigan in the top tier of this game, too, but I don't think she's top 6, especially when Magneto is absent otherwise.

This comes up as a legit source because the title is not misleading. It's a TOP SIX list, whilst Champ's shîtwreck of a tier list pretends to cover up the whole cast, and his only argument while doing it was to say "only top tier. Everyone else is irrelevant". So yeah, #unbiased indeed.

people who say morrigan isn't top tier without doom are funny to me. She can still zone out most of the cast, she still builds a ton of meter, and she can still open your ass up. Neither Xian or Kevin Landon use doom missiles and she still shows her top tier power. It's also about time people start putting Logan in that top tier status, He definitely is nothing but top tier.

@12 Vergil normals are so unsafe, easy to counter with Xfactor and he is a meter eater unlike Zero or Spencer. A good Zero is really hard to counter with X factor and build a lot of meter but he doesn't have the range Vergil normals have. Spencer builds all meter he needs to kill you (lol), he is safer than Vergil because he got that 1,050K vs only 850K.
We can say what makes Vergil top tier are the range of his moves, Xfactor lvl 3 (one of the best anchor), 3 godlike supers ( one for damage, one for combos and mixups and one for speed and gaining back some life) and the HARM BREAKER, it is still useful! Yes he is very good but he doesn't have anything to get out of an incoming mixup except X factor or a random that can be easily countered.

In a year this game will have less playable characters than MVC2, except MVC2 characters have more depth than 5 MVC3 characters put together.LOL

Characters who cant fight Morrigan or Zero(and a lot of chars already cant) will be useless.

LOL it's kinda funny that his opinion is the reverse of marvel 2's general tier list.
Marvel 2: Big 4 were marvel characters and capcom side had on 2 characters (strider and CapCom)
Here only 4 capcom characters and 2 marvel characters.

On Sunday Champ did a legit list with proper care for low tier, though I'm not sure if anyone screencapped it.

I'm just pointing out the strangeness of praising a 6 character tierlist while simultaneously trashing a more extensive one. Not to mention the fact that this top 6 is almost identical to champs top 6. But sure, no bias. Nothing against yipes but, why is this praiseworthy? What tier list doesn't have these 6 chars near or at the top of the pack.

In a way the two tier list are extremely similar, but Yipes was smart enough to leave off the rest of the cast, unlike F.Champ who just threw everybody at the bottom. Also, F.Champ's Tier list was NO WHERE NEAR extensive at all. Atleast the one posted on EventHubs, he re-did it again the other night and that one looked alot better.

@27 Whats growing? Your stupidity? None of the characters you listed outside of Dorm have won a major and will never win a major. Most of those characters you listed get raped by Morrigan/Doom, which is bodying everything.

All I'm asking is, why is it "smart" to make a 6 character tier list consisting of characters that everybody and their mother already knew where top tier.

I mean who doesn't think those characters are top tier? Why does stating that they're top tier all of the sudden make you "smart"? Imo, it's just because people like Yipes. I like Yipes too, but I just don't see what's so brilliant about proclaiming that 6 obviously top tier characters are top tier.

It's smart because it doesn't allow people to go off and ASSUME that everything below High Tier is complete garbage, especially with the comment "Everybody below high tier is irrelevant". If F.Champ left off the rest of the cast and just put his top picks, we honestly wouldn't even be having this conversation at all.

Champ sent a troll list of lower tier characters for peeps to b:tch about. I'm not bent out of shape about it but it was blatantly to get a reaction, yipes just placed top tier which is more sensible but funny at the sametime no bias (at least not from me).

Oh and frank west is top tier or will be later on on. Treat him like phoenix and you'll be fine (i think anyway).

I idolize yipes, but this list lacks magneto (especially with the easy new infinites and such). Morrigan still overrated, hoping on a patch to open eyes and end all that. And it seems people know how good doom is but refuse to give him a spot higher up. Bad neutral game? Going by that alone would take morrigan out of the top because she needs doom missiles or rush down would be a bigger issue for her and she would get smoked. Fact is if doom touches you, you're more than likely doomed (ba dum tsssssss), it also doesn't change that when you look at the top 8 and top 16 doom is on literally almost every single team, he gets even more show time than vergil. And you only ever see like 2 zeroes. There's no denying he's amazing but I still don't think he's as great as people make him out to be... But what do I know? I'm just a guy who only faces his friends and gave up on wishing to attend tournies a long time ago, soto others my opinion can't even be accepted as an opinion... It's ok, one day something will happen with this game and I'll be laughing when I'm right =)

can someone explain to me what criteria is used for mvc tier lists...i feel like so much of it depends on team synergy that the tier lists should be done with teams or broken down into an assist tier list and a point tier list...yea there are always perfects and comebacks done by single characters but to tell who is really the best depends a lot on different criteria that is hard to judge in a game like marvel....dont get me wrong im not hating on anyones list i just would like explanations instead of a graph and character icons to better understand the thought process of everyones list that always vary

and I don't think vergil is number 1 in this game at all like people have been speculating. Ease of use should not factor into tier lists, and in his case it definitely is a factor.

@51 yes it should, less dropped combos equals more guaranteed kills. One of the reasons why wolverine is on this list.

@52 Ease of use doesn't factor into a tier list. By definition a tier list assumes highest skill level.

@58 Anyone with an IQ above 10 knew Wesker had a lot of problems/bad matchups, Morrigan doesn't. And "barely" wins? Watch his matches, Chris G wins, the end. MVC2 is about as balanced as a 1 legged hooker from Tijuana.

None of those people "kick Chris G's ass." If that were the case, Chris G wouldn't have won 5+ straight majors he attended. He only has dropped one major to each of those players sans Marlinpie since playing his current team. And Justin Wong doesn't win because of Storm against Chris G. He wins because he steam rolls with Wolverine or makes a comeback with Akuma.

Morrigan needs assists (mainly, but not limited to, Doom missiles) to be top tier since she is very weak alone that even level 3 X-Factor can't save her. Wolvy is like 8th since he has some pretty big flaws in his game as well, BUT his positives outweigh it though. Also, I think Strider is top 6 for 4 reasons:
1. Nobody plays him for some reason, so some people get confused.
2. He has decent-excellent synergy with every RELEVANT character.
3. Lv.3 X-Factor + Oroboros= Vanilla MvC3 Dark Phoenix.
4. He shuts down MorriDoom with Vajra and his other tools
