While this list is leagues better than the other two, I don't think Paul should be above Dudley.
Also, I'm curious: Why is Balrog considered low tier? He has good footsies and hits pretty hard.
Nguyen isn't as high as Kevin and Kelvin, but still awfully high.
I'm surprised Ibuki is as high as she is. Unless there's been some recent developments I'm unaware of.
@6 u don't know what your talking stop playing d ranks guy has some of the best block pressure in the game. This list isn't bad u can see the top characters already enough said
who's lpn and why is he making a list? Juri wasn't good in vanilla and didn't get buffs, why is she so high? Cammy also shouldn't be up there. jack is way too high also along with a few others.
this game is still garbage and people need to stop lying to themselves. we have waited for years for a game with this title almost 20 years people have wanted to see street fighter character's vs tekken characters, and this is what they gave us. A GOT-DAMN-SHAME!!!!!!!
Swap Lili and Kazuya around and the top 5 would be right. Paul and Guy need to drop down two rows. Move Christie, Poison and Elena up a row and sounds about right.
@14 He's a player from norcal thats sponsored by RZR. And Juri not being good in vanilla? She had really good pressure with her cr.hp being jump cancellable, almost as braindead as vanilla Cammy, and she dealt ridiculous damage off her anti air alone. She was really good in Vanilla xT, and she still is good in 2013 despite her nerfs, just not as good as before.
On topic: This list is pretty accurate for the most part, though i think Lilli should definately be higher, King should be higher, Heihachi should be a tiny bit lower, Kaz is definately not top 5 so he should be lower, Paul should be lower, and Hwoarang should be Higher. At least thats what i think unless im missing something here..
i agree with nina being high in the tier list maybe that's too high but in vanilla all she need to do what get two good combos and you was knocked out ,and the way she is now goodness wonder why everyone in the comments are salty, i guess thats why event hubs are making their own tier list.
Has anyone notice that there are more Tekken character that are top tier than SF. Guess Jin & Kazuya are both able to whop Akuma, Ryu, & Ken ass!
@14
Juri was one of the best in vanilla and was a constant source of complaints from players who thought she was too strong. She was hit hard with the nerf stick in the first and second patch and is still amazing. That's how good she is.
@22 Yeah thats what happens when you almost double every tekken characters abilitys and nerf most SF characters.
Lili too low and I feel he may have put players more unfamiliar with toward the bottom more. Just my 2 cents.
Most accurate tier list I've seen for v2013 IMO considering we have not even had it for 6 months yet. LPN is 100% creditable to make a tier list for SFXT considering his knowledge of the game. All tier list turn into is debates that end it someone thinking there opinion is fact.
Yea its all about opinions and u gotta respect the pros
This tier list is hot garbage. I know who LPN is. Know how good he is and all that but lets be 100%. This is all jacked up. But I do think it is safe to say we can all agree on the top 6.
This tier list is the best I have seen so far
The difference in "power" betwen a tier class to another is little.
Of course there are just one mistake in my opinion, just leave Jin and Law at the top tier and the rest put one tier down, so there are just:
-S tier (Jin and Law)
-A+ tier (the first block of characters we saw like juri, dudley, ryu, paul, along with chun, kazu and nina)
-A tier (the second block we see, like vega, king sakura, zangief, etc)
-B+ tier (the third block we see like bison, Elena, Kuma, etc)
-B tier (the final block we see like blanka, balrog and with hugo)
-C tier (being the ps exclusive characters, who cares anyways?).
Perhaps I'm wrong but this looks like a tier list that's more about who the online community is using(at said level) and less about actual match ups, strength, weaknesses and so on.
Still, its nice to find Ibuki/Asuka in mid tier.
@14 and anyone questioning why Juri consistently appears in A+ tier for this game:
Juri is freaking gdlke, that's why. As #23 stated, she's been hit with the nerf stick thee times now and she's still amazing. Let's go over some of the reasons why:
- One of the best, if not the best anti-air normal in the game.
- A divekick that's safe from almost anything on block (Pretty sure only 3f reversals can punish)
- Able to switch from solid zoning to rushdown in a heartbeat.
- Huge combo potential for an SF character. (Corner combos get her around 400 meterless)
- Has so many hit confirms for her super/cross art it's ridiculous. (Can do both off her normal divekick, which means she's a threat from cross screen)
All that AFTER being nerfed three times.
@14 - "Juri wasn't good in vanilla and didn't get buffs, why is she so high? Cammy also shouldn't be up there."
Juri... wasn't good... in Vanilla?
...That sound you hear is me laughing my ass off. I might die from the laughter.
Hell even after getting constantly beaten by the nerf paddle (which... I'm sure Juri loves actually), she's still damn good, and her team synergy is some of the best/easiest in the game.
Cammy really only lost her "braindead stuff" (I hate saying that.. ugh), she can still dominate the neutral game with the best of them, not to mention having one of the fastest walkspeeds in the game and being able to do 300+ meterless solo isn't something to just ignore.
Anyway, still not a fan of this rash of tier lists but I am liking LPN's, it makes sense. Still early though, and I'm sure Capcom is already devising ways to further nerf Juri in their next patch (hint: please don't hurt her anymore Capcom T.T).
I like most of the list except where he put Lei and Kuma. They are much higher. And its the first time I see Lili so low (I mean under Juri and Paul?)
If you look at Christie as a rushdown/mixup character, then she is probably C tier. But when you realize she's actually a hybrid footsie character capable of zoning with her limbs, she's suddenly seems A/B tier.
And just for the record, I still think Yoshimitsu > Paul. At the very least, they are on the same tier.
Also there's no way Heihachi, Cody, Ibuki and Asuka are better than Ogre.
Ogre is very very solid and well rounded.
You guys are gonna have heart problems with all this sodium intake.
@45 As I said, I think it's because Juri has the option to either rushdown and open up the opponent for some pretty decent damage (not on par with someone like Julia, but she's no slouch) or switch to zoning. Juri's Zoning game in SFxT is still really good given that this game rewards you much more for playing offensively than devensively.
She has all the tools to keep an opponent out (Fireball release makes any blockstring safe) she has an overhead that's +0 on block, a counter move that allows her to escape almost any pressure (ground, air or projectile) for free and two fantastic anti-airs in the form of cr.mp and cr.hp.
I can hear people saying "Yeah, but Tekken chars have tools to get around fireball zoning" and this is true, but Juri's zoning is very different to almost any other character. Most anti-fireball special steps that the Tekken cast have only grant upper body invincibility. So a lk fireball will stuff even Kaz or Jin trying to slip in. And if they try to jump, you've got cr.hp ready to punish. Plus her ability to store fireballs and release them seperately makes it very difficult to try and time a punish correctly.
The only real drawbacks she has, in my opinion are:
* 900 health
* cr.hp > j.hp can wiff randomly.
* Fireballs are not fullscreen
* Damage scaling in combos limits her output more than some other characters.
Unless I'm missing something glaring, outside of those points she's a fantastic all-round character. If you think she's bad now, you should have seen her in vanilla when she could land a super off her mk.pinwheel...
i think you have to know and play with every character to judge tiers. i don't, but i can tell from my knowledge that this list isnt accurate. Akuma, jack x, brian, rolento, kuma, and dhalsim should be higher, and law should be lower(but only slightly).
@46: I agree. I didn't mean to say that she's a bad character, on the contrary. But I main Juri x Lil and think Lili is the overall stronger character.
Why?
- Lili's pressure is at least on par with Juri's, if not stronger.
- Even better anti-air options (df+fk, st.mk and her qp counter all have their uses)
- she has meterless reversal options. (knee kick and counter)
- no real zoning as I see it but good long range pokes.
- better mixup options, can combo from overhead.
- i'm not sure about damage output in regard to Juri but it's good.
- her qcf+p is safe and does insane chip damage.
- can hit twice from jumpin without touching the ground, which is great agains hugos and zangiefs who like to charge their supers (breaks armor).
@49: Imho, tier lists are nice but matchup charts are golden.
I'll seriously never understand why people rate Xiao so high. Have they ever even seen Xiaoyu gameplay or payed attention to the ver.2013 changes? Her offense has been diminished because her best offensive tool in vanilla(Cyanide, her overhead) is now -2, so you cannot continue to safely pressure afterwards at all. It's pretty much her only nerf, but it really hurts.
Is this the first SF where Vega is the best Deva in the game?
@52
And you still love it enough to keep checking up on it. What a gentleman.
"We don't have the same opinions, my opinion is fact therefore you are wrong" Lmao stay free fgc.
@50
I don't agree with Lili having better anti airs than Juri. IMO, Juri has THE best anti airs in the game. Her cr.HP and MP have amazing priority and one of them causes a float state which you can combo off. Juri can safely end all of her combos with qcf+k if the opponenent is blocking her string. I think her damage is actually higher than Lili's overall. Her counter teleport is a really good tool as a reversal and on wakeup since it pretty much has no start up time and lasts a while so it's hard to keep the pressure on Juri. Lili really only shines when she's on constant offense. Juri can switch between defense and offense whenever she needs too easily.
