KOF13 is the complete opposite of the term scrub-friendly.

Jesus, is this place becoming SRK? You two don't even play KOF13. Gako only plays UMVC3, which IS a scrub friendly game. while Benify you play UMVC3, Super SFIV, SFXTekken, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and you do have SFIII Third Strike, but said flat out you suck at that game along with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (with 2 out of 10 and 3 out of 10) You also say your skill level in SFXTekken is a 4. while the Big Two are a 5/10.

I have played KOF13, and let me tell you, if you are a scrub, and your playing someone who knows that game very well, you are going to get wrecked. This is not Super SFIV where you can just mash buttons to win. This 10 year old plays better then both of you, and you bash on a kid because of that?

@11 it has a very steep learning curve, and no there are no character specific combos. Its an extremely balanced game with above average execution requirement and the fundamentals required to play the game well are very much different than those in Marvel,SF, ect.

I love both KOF XIII AND UMvC3. Why don't you play through the mission mode of both said games? Let's see how easily a pro like you can pass them if the game's so scrub-friendly when we both play a game where the lowest-level casual players can just stick to Wesker, Doom, and Vergil and be Cosmic Lord in a month.

On a lighter note, I remember being enthusiastic about fighting games since I was 7 or 8 myself back when the world wasn't consumed with Call of Duty. HUGE props to WAWA.

Really? I honestly think the SNK characters are really cool. While I don't like the new graphic style KoF has taken, the cast is still very colorful imo.

KoFXIII scrub friendly? Marvel is the same one generic combo, easy combos and X-factor BS.
KoFXIII is the one of the best fighting games to come out which respects the player. If you are good at KoFXIII you will do well. You simply cannot lose to X-factor BS newbie kid comebacks.

And I played KoFXIII all last year but main TTT2 and 3s and still highly respect KoFXIII. UMvC3 hahahahaha wow...

And kudos to the little kid at playing a great high execution game. I really wish more people would play this game and have fun instead of having a hard to learn, even the basics. Pfft. People over exaggerate so bad. KOF is not that hard, especially not XIII. 98/98UM and 2k2/2k2UM is way harder.

Still it's impressive this kid is doing well in KOF, I hope he comes to Evo.

Did I just read "especially for a game with such a steep learning curve as King of Fighters 13"? lol I only picked up KOF13 after watching the hype match between Bala and MadKOF and I was pretty good at it within 3 months...I cant say the same for other games such as SF4 and MVC3

@Major_Dog I think you're feeling yourself a bit too much but if you are that good congrats. Anyhoo SF4 gets it complexity from the footsie game but can honestly just be ignored with certain tactics and still be viable, but in KoF you're in a constant footsie battle where not jumps are predictable because of the Hop feature. It's a stronger mind-game than the closest FG.

I think people are overlooking some stuff.It's not wether KOF is easy or hard to play but it's the fact that a ten year old has the execution(regardless of ease) and mental fortitude to play at such a high profile tournament.I mean if I was ten and I was playing in a semidark room full of shouting grown men I would be scared s**tless.
The kid also made some sick reads like when he anti-aired that cross-up with Kyo.

That was seriously amazing to watch. KOF is a hard game for me personally, and it's prob cause I haven't given it much time.

I own it for both PS3 and 360 if there are gamers out there willing to teach me how to play it.

In all seriousness, this kid is the future. The fact that he is reacting to various situations like that, and converting stuff into big damage in a game where it's not that easy to get high damage is sick. And it's not like he's fundamentally ass. You don't see many 10-year-olds being disciplined at blocking like that.

Yikes, I only played KoF13 a little, but just the blocking was enough to convince me. I hope this kid doesn't peak too young, and get discouraged. That's always the worst.

Now THIS RIGHT HERE is a damn achievement. Especially learning KoF 13 at this level and at this age is pretty damn impressive.
Unlike Noah with Marvel which all you do is A B C combos. This kid has the right to brag if anything.

True. I don't find KoFXIII hard but the game is a "no bullcrap" game. It's your "old school" steep learning curve game with no gimmicks to help the player win. It's a game that respects good players.
However there are those like WinRich (14 I think) who plays Vergil in Marvel 3 extremely well.

I played KoF when I was 10 and I couldn't do combos.... in KoF 96 my team was Beni, Geese, and Kyo.... I only learned to do Combos when I was uh.... 26? :D

KofXIII is the easiest to pickup in the series, but the learning curve is still greater than any other fighter out there. The kid is a beast and I applaud him for his skill level in this game. If he can take the time out to actually learn a game, then so can others. Now they can quit making new fighters into party games.

That kid has total focus to pull out clutch wins like that in a GRAND FINALS, amazing skill...looking forward to more tournament showings from him!

The reads, the reactions, the execution and knowledge of the game.. and I also want to point out that EU especially France has impressed me very much In KOF, The level up of play their is very high for KOF. I'm glad to see KOF XIII is still going strong in many regions of the world :D

he start fighting game at kof 13.
i have teach lot of kof player, but lean to my son was a fatastic experience. beleve me this kid is powerfull very focused on kof wawa beat mago at this tournament video coming soon.
