The release date is close to the Steam Summer Sale date.

It may (or may not) get cheaper there.

Wow, score one for Capcom for making SSF4AE compatible with Windows XP. Even at a lowly 800x600 the game looks great on my medicore Dell Optiplex 745 with ATI Radeon 5450. Then again these super high res games require sooo much disk space that they're probably doing me a favor crossing out XP. I know, I need to upgrade to Windows 7/8 asap but it's still like $130+ on Amazon. Way to price out your gamers MS.

Perfect time to port it, right after everyone stopped playing it. Lol

Oh and I like DRM (Draining the Remaining Money out of your customers)

$30 for a 2+ year old game seems pretty steep, I could probably knock a good 10 games off my wishlist with that money come summer sale...

I'd rather wait and see how is the port. The guys doing it aren't really trustworthy.

Definitely not worth 30... but it will see some sales.

Not DRM-free? no thanks! Thank God i have my Xbox 360 and i can afford buying Komplete Edition for it (Hadn't bought yet, because was waiting for it to come to PC!), but now since its confirmed as DRM-mandatory i won't bother with it anymore...So MK Komplete Edition for Xbox 360 here i come...!

Why the hack do people have a problem with Steam?
You only need to connect online once every 30 days, and it accepts dail-up to do this.

As for $30, I do not see how this isn't fair. You get all the content and the price helps support the conversion team.

@16 Exactly, you can just use offline mode.

Sure, Steam *is* DRM but the advantages it provides far outweigh that fact. It's not made to screw you over (like most other alternatives, including console frontends) and that's DRM done right if you ask me.

@14 You just don't buy any PC games outside of GOG/Humble Bundle do you?

Oh, and people, the price is effectively 22.50. Read the damn article, please.

@10 I'm with you on this one m8. The game comes out in a couple of weeks and we still haven't seen any gameplay. Those high system requirements aren't really a sign of good optimization either.

The price is right cause the game includes all DLCs from consoles, and you can use Steam offline, maybe just need to connect the first time to validate the game. And nobody knows if it use the same console netcode, maybe it uses steamworks.

Oh wow people whining about Steam. Capcom went with GFWL which is far worse, Netherrealm goes with Steam, and people complain about Steam? Really? Steam is pretty much the least intrusive DRM possible.

Liberator said on June 18, 2013 at 9:10 p.m.

#23 maybe...but DRM is still a DRM! It is forcing me to additional actions, which i don't want to take, when i launch my game to have some fun in off-line or together with my friends!

I imagine if sales do well we'll see Injustice and future NRS fighters on the PC sooner. Then maybe other companies like Namco will bring their fighters onto PC, too. Tekken on PC. That would be awesome.

Of course, it's not gonna happen if it's hard for PC gamers to drop even $20 on a decent fighter...

Not my kind of game but still happy they did port for us Pc gamer :)

Chryo said on June 19, 2013 at 6:34 a.m.

@27 The problem is that they're not generating any buzz for this game, and it's kind of worrying. Dark Souls did amazingly well on PC (even warranting it to be the leading platform for the sequel) because they actually put it out there, with gaming sites doing previews, trailers being released, timed exclusive content for the platform, etc. It was a terrible port until the community fixed it and it still did amazingly well.

Here, we only got a bunch of screenshots, an old trailer from 2011 and a store page on a minor site. We're only 2 weeks away, step the f up Warner... where's the Steam preorder page? Get that money rolling in, do SOMETHING.
