Wish it wasn't character locked. Most of these players are pretty known for maining only one character so counter picking wouldn't be an issue. But it does mean that Sako will have to pick only one of his characters which makes me sad.

also lol@popi and infil being on the same team.

What's supposed to be the time for this and the other team tournament?

I'd like to suggest to EventHubs that the week of a tournament, you guys have a sticky somewhere at the top of the page or a special high-lighted link that will take people to the tournament schedule- with the time zone(sounds obvious but most of time you guys don't put that in there).

I often find my self digging through old post or whatever trying to find schedules the day of tournaments. This would be a real help.

And yes, I know tournaments often run off schedule but they do still serve as a guide when you have other stuff to get done on those days.

#40
NvhA said on July 8, 2013 at 4:28 p.m.

Kind of a waste to have Korean take up two slots when Poongko could've joined up with Infiltration & Laugh. Cafe ID is weak on paper compare to the others and agreed that Popi should be in Team Europe instead of Alioune.

Pretty neat to see different sponsored players in Team Japan.

#44
V3N0MB1T3 said on July 8, 2013 at 4:38 p.m.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume this is a Japanese style team tournament, that means single elim one and done 2 round games against the opponent. So if Sako gets in and gets edged out however slightly it may happen, it would be on his team mates to make sure he gets another chance to play by advancing the team to the next round. *sigh* and people wonder why SBO has become defunct. Really hate these team battles that shape themselves around a single elim format. This is how Marvel Frauds (Christ its even in their damn name!) got as far as they did in the marvel team tourney at CEO. Expect there to be plenty of upsets but I also suspect it to not in any way shape or form a clear measure of the strength of the teams, their countries or the players in them.

#45
ShinzoBishamon said on July 8, 2013 at 4:41 p.m.

CafeId is a group that's why they are together

#46
LK said on July 8, 2013 at 4:41 p.m.

Anyone else find it funny Popi teamed up with Infilration and Laugh? I wonder if they befriended him so Infiltration could download before EVO lol.

Why is Europe handicapping themselves by having a Rose player? Also why is Chris G representing America instead of Ricky, Latif, Wolfkrone, Mike Ross, Valle or etc? He's good but not that good in AE.

#73
kdavis851 said on July 8, 2013 at 8:44 p.m.

@67 Agreed. Chris. Has has a run of really impressive showings recently in AE. He placed higher than all the other American players at CEO, coming in 3rd behind Xian and Momochi, right? He's a strong player to have on that team.

That's of course if you give Chris credit for stepping his game up in AE, and are not one for the people who decided Sakura was S++ tier when he started winning with her...

I don't quite understand the reasoning behind putting popi with Infiltration and Laugh and giving Korea two teams... isn't this supposed to be a nation vs nation thing? If you're going to give a nation two teams, Japan deserves it far more. Who decided on these teams anyway? Was there a process involved for selecting them?

#84

I don't like this exhibition being done before Finals on Sunday especially when most of the players here will most likely playing on Sunday.

Part of the hype is not knowing what's going to happen when two strong players meet in a high stakes situation.

Is everyone going to be playing random in this tournament?
