So Breno has done the best of anyone in the world that's FT7 with Infiltration.
Really I think the dude just needs to get out of Brazil and play offline with some more top players consistently. He's got the skills no doubt, but lacks the experience and nerves clearly.
Lets get one thing strait Latif is better than Breno, you need to take into account the matchups and the experience Infiltration had with Viper and Latif and the experience between Breno and Cammy.
Latif is definitely overhyped. Yes, he did well at Evo like 2 years ago in a different version of the game. That's really the last time he did anything noteworthy.
Chilean Road to EVO tournament here: http://pt-br.twitch.tv/tournament_cl
Not sure why Eventhubs isn't giving it coverage. They're doing Marvel finals at the moment.
@25: Agreed, he should really go back and rest first. Tiring to be travelling around all the time.
KaneBlueRiver wins the Chilean EVO qualifier! Hopefully we see him at Final Round too.
thank God revovingsun got banned...stupidest person alive
at people talking about LAtif. the guy went to Japan and wiped the floor with a lot of their top players.. he embarrassed most of the vipers out there.
#22 i didnt see the Abel but i hope youre not basing his ability in a match vs Akuma, let alone Infiltrations akuma. Akuma rapes abel
After watching Combofiend humiliate Breno in SFxT I thought Infiltration was gonna take it 7-0 easy.
But then I remembered AE had some Cammy derp and unblockables so I started believing in Brazil. :3
@37 What you said is correct, but what other people said is also correct. Not hating on Latif, but it's true he has not done anything noteworthy in a tournament since he got 2nd at EVO. What he did in the arcades in Japan was impressive, but he doesn't do it tourney. So at the end of the day, people are going to say, good job, but those were just casual matches....
On another note, the Brazilians did well in AE, need to brush up on other games but good play overall. If their players got to travel, they would definitely become threats.
you guys are trying too hard to defend Infiltration. its like Daigo all over again. he has fans who feel obligated to defend him and make excuses for every little loss. its not the end of the world guys. your favorite player can still lose and be the best or still good. you dont have to jump at the chance to prove any Infil naysayers wrong.
next thing is going to be people calling him by his real name as if they know him. people already do it excessively with the American players, whats going to stop a wea/koreaboo?
I thought Brasil done pretty well, especially ChuChu and Breno. The other guys could have been caught out by nerves, which is understandable.
Having seen Breno Fighters dispatch of Infiltration in a solid fashion in Teams in AE, I expected him to put up a great show in the FT7. It looked like Breno became more nervous as the fight went on and Infiltration definitely became stronger. Great matches though.
Well done Brasil.
#41 Latif doesnt even hardly attend tournys though, so its a bit unfair to say he fails at them. If he attended more, its obvious a player of his quality would place high more often than not. Most people here are just hating fanboys as they nicely ignore the fact the guy doesnt enter many tournies. I could say Sako and Poongko are overhyped as they havent place high in forever... but the REAL truth is they haven't entered any major tournaments recently.
Latif is a beast, and certainly better than he's been doing lately. The only reason he's not doing that well anymore is because he's focused more in college right now. The dude barely even plays any more.
NOw if he started training again he would be whooping again.
@43, the guy was playing cammy is all. If you watch his cammy its just flowchart combos over and over which clearly inf is weaker against just like that sakura.
In a proper tournament i would expect other characters to dispatch of breno before he got that far, would also expect him to lose to other good cammy players.
@49, clearly you're focusing on the wrong thing. What is a "flowchart combo"? If you land a mix-up, you finish the combo, that simple. And obviously you didn't see all the adjustments and counters he made against Infiltration's Akuma.(i.e. low strong to counterhit air fireball)
Can't believe how shortsighted some of you guys are. You guys really think this Breno got anything on Latif? Latif is a beast, he went to play in Japanese arcades and even the Japanese said he's the best Viper on the planet. He bodied Daigo's Yun & Poongko's Seth when they where at their best and it took Fuudo, Japan's strongest Fei to keep him from winning EVO. And now he's supposed to be overrated because he doesn't place high in tournaments and lost 7-0 against Infiltration? Well guess what, he can't place high in tournaments if he barely attends lately because he's focused on his studies. And everyone loses to Infiltration, even Daigo got bodied.
Latif at his best vs Breno and I'll put my money on Latif hands down.
BTW, # 15 is retarded.
I think it's reasonable that people doubt Latif's status because he hasn't had any solid results beside on high ranking in EVO. And he did play a character known for randomness.
So it's understandable that one concludes that it might have been a fluke. Doesnt mean he isn't solid, but he probably is a sub-topper instead of a top-killer.
And Japanese would always compliment you. That doesn't mean anything, unless you can win in a tournament there.
It would be interesting to pool some of the comments on here seems everyone's degraging just about every pro player they can find breno, latif and infil. It seems to be prevalent with capcom fighters other games have clearly good players there's less b:tching about other players abilities maybe that's why capcom fighters are so popular?
@51: What makes you think Breno wouldn't be as successful as Latif?
Breno is a very, very solid player....
He was able to compete with Laugh and Infiltration on a even ground...
They played a lot off stream after the tournament and even if Infiltration really did win more, it wasn't free by any means...
I'd say putting your money on Latif against him would be a pretty risky bet....
You could put your money on any of them and have a fair chance of getting it back plus interest.
who cares who's the best? they are all good and we are fortunate enough to live in a time where we get to watch them play across the world.
Latif, Infiltration, Breno, ect.....let's just ENJOY their matches and not try to make seeding points like we are some kind of TO.
i guess some people are hard headed sayin Latif doesnt place high in tournies... PLEASEEE he doesnt even attend them so how can he place high?
#SAMURAI i think that match is highly in cammy's favor so even if Latif lost i wouldnt take much stock in the results... Also Latif didnt body Daigo's Yun, if i remember right it was 2-1, very close and it came down to the last round... people now overuse but don't know what that word means... you're basically saying he raped Daigo but he didnt
Keoma, not Koema, and Breno, not Berno.
Congrats for awesome results from Brazilians. They really did a great job.
Infiltration adapting at 7x3 was amazing. Laugh whispered twice after the second and third matches, and Infiltration got juiced to the power of 2 each time.
Breno is without a doubt one of the best cammy player in the world right now.he put up a good fight in the ft 7 and beated infiltration and laugh 2x0 in the team matches. Chuchu really impressed me and it is a shame that he didn't get the evo spot. I hope both players will be at evo2013.
@52 Agreed, people have learned how to handle viper and she did get nerfed a bit, and latif did win a local tourney in Japan, check out his YT channel.
Regardless of the matchup and what tier cammy is, breno is one of the better cammy players out there. Also, those of you making "excuses" for latif should stop getting a people making excuses for players they like because you're doing the same thing.
