I never played TTT2 but that kid was doing serious combos and I was amazed. Hopefully, people like him can go to EVO.
@8 don't be an idiot he's saying the according to ESRB the guy who won the tournement is technically too young to play the game
Of course even a kid can win at Tekken, just mash safe fast power starters now and then with some random hopchick or a powerful random counterhit, combine that and win.
now i know for a fact that i'm not buying tekken. well, actually, TTT2 at least.
@revolving
Or, his parents deemed him capable of handling the game so they bought him a copy. Or they just aren't pussies about like we are in the US. It's probably a mix of those two since they're more likely than not involved in him making it out to the tournament scene
Sounds look good parenting to me
Good parenting indeed.
I was at the event, and AK was accompanied by his parents. He was like any other kid, enjoys the game and winning, but the thing that stood out about him was the respect he gave to the people he beat that day. He was humble when he got sent to losers, and was humble even when he eventually won.
If parents were able to let their kid play competitively and instill a sense of maturity and respect to everyone else and keep the kid's ego in check, then you ARE good parents.
@9 Lets say #4 comment never counted, and ESRB is not part of the Philippines. Every country has their own rating systems and does not follow like the ESRB. Countries from UK, Europe, Australia, Germany, Japan, Korea, China (Hong Kong & Taiwan), and Iraq.
@learis1
God, I'm such an idiot for wasting 30 seconds of my life!
Or are you trying to be a troll?
Not surprised at all considering the game in question; good for him though
@18 Not surprised at all at your comment considering that you are bad at every game you play even though barely anyone even plays the games you play.
8 year olds win in Marvel, 12 year olds win in Tekken, and DOA players stay hating.
Wow using Lei? He must have some talent, I couldn't work with that moveset. Only watched the first set and he made good use of his Netsu. Which is probably one of the most off putting thing about Tekken, but to act like it requires no talent just makes you look petty.
@19 I don't like to engage in arguments in a comments sections full of idiots. But I just want to say. I hope this is not an accurate depiction of the FGC. Because I am seeing some straight up ignorance in all these comments sections. I personally wouldn't type ignorant, negative comments about a game. Say if I didn't like DOA. I'm not gonna go and trash it because the system doesn't fit me. For all I know I could have fallacious notions towards it. So in all honesty, all you people typing these negative comments basically have fallacious notions towards Tekken. And are in no place to sit there and bash it. This is ignorance at it's finest. Especially HooliganComboFTW. But what can you do? Some people will just stay ignorant and closed minded.
They really didn't have good movement, but its good to see a young player fight to the top. LOL @ all the people who just hate on the game, if you don't like a game simply don't interact with the community..... but thats not enough for you is it... no i didn't think so (._.)
Its a 11 man tournament http://images.challonge.com/pv_genesy...
Not to take anything away from the kid but his opponent sucks.
Filipino tekken players mostly play at the arcades(fg arcade scene in the phils is dead except for tekken unfortunately its not as big as it was), and don't even own a console, they haven't made a jump to ttt2 for that reason and its so expensive to play(almost a dollar). The capcom fighters are the most popular right now with console Pinoy FGC.

@30 MvC3....a real game? LMAO!! And the scrubs complaining about juggles sound like free online players. peace
I'm from the Philippines and i'm an active player in the Tekken Community here and let me give facts about our wonder child AK. AK wins every local/player organized, sponsored and major tournament(some of it are more than 64 players participated in a tournament) he joins in short he's a consistent champion. He holds the 2nd highest rank in the country(Byakko) and he also had the highest rank for a while. So yeah, believe it or not this kid has been annihilating our Filipino asses and possibly the best Tag2 player here.
good parenting from his parents, when he plays in arcades or in tournaments his family is present but his father supervise him the most. His father told us that he has good grades and he's a varsity player in basketball in their school also. every time he wins a tournament his parents will treat us players who also competed in the tournament for a snack or a meal and of course the money spent came from the pot money he won.
for more of AK here's an article of him http://www.mineski.net/news/1499/tekk... congrats again AK :D
Can't wait to see this kid play come EVO should he go. He has potential. A lot of it.
