Looks nice, also that song, DOA needs more like that, 5 has a really bland OST.
will be playing again fo' sho
Lol back for more boobies? At least they have new content, unlike TTT2.
Looks good. I'm just pissed that 360 users aren't getting the patch and dlc today. :(
#7 TTT2 was released with more than enough content.
#11 True but as it stands TTT2 customization is subpar in general with numerous mistakes. For example Miharu's slit skirt and pumps item is actually a jean skirt with boots item. The actual slit skirt with pumps item doesn't exist for her. There needs to be a patch to address all of them.
@11 Lets say there wasn't enough content to make TTT2 stand out, I agree with #7. Like #12 said the customization is subpar, because they merged certain custom parts (which they shouldn't do that), the verity of items was poor, lacks unique items for each character, and made Tekken characters look like a joke with bland humor. You couldn't even customize Tiger & Unknown except aura, rage, panel, & LED. Even when Tekken did male swimsuit every guy wears the same pre-colored Fundoshi (except few characters), while Females, Animals, & True Ogre had different verity of swimsuit. Unless if TTT2 adds more DLC like costume & new customization items (which I don't see likely) Tekken Tag 2 is part missing with content, unlike Tekken 6 had more verity.
@8 That stage does look like DOA3 Beach stage.
Blown away at how DoA's beautiful female characters bother a lot of us in the FGC in a bad way. Every so often I jump on a news feed for DoA, and I see comments from people talking s*** about the pretty faces and and curvy figures. Never thought something so visually appealing would be looked at so negatively.
Oh, the game's pretty fun btw. Nice to see updates for this game.
LOL having DLC the FGC talk sh*t about DOA5 and having a massive patch update the FGC talk sh*t. I don't care what anybody says. Y'all can keep praising Tekken, I'ma enjoy my stunning game and all its DLC.
@20... I would hate to see the girls you think is attractive
@17 This has always baffled me as well...
For a scene full of thirsty "SherroJenix/Mirandosthighs" lovers to dislike a game full of attractive women just makes no sense.
Is it too much to ask for to have girls in bikini's be completely barefoot?
@26 You are a whiny little jackass in EVERY damned story on this site. Piss off.
It looks like the doa3 beach stage because I'm pretty sure both are on zack island... Why would you expect it to look different.
I think that people who think they're hardcore competitive fg players continue to avoid doa because of it's not very competitive past, and just refuse to give it a chance. If top players they like don't pay it, then they won't either because its written off as "bad". And these days... Nobody forms an opinion of their own, almost everybody just follows what the majority is thinking. And being not very educated on doa, their opinions won't change.
Just wanna point out, gameplay-wise doa has improved a lot. It's no longer "whoever attacks first, loses" because countering has been made stricter with timing, damage has dropped, etc... Also damage dropped on stage hazards from before.
I like fighters to play well and look nice... And tekken is just eh. Fun, but I'm disappointed in their graphical laziness. When they cut and paste the exact same upper body for almost every girl, as an example. Don't believe me? Look at miharu or a busty character, put on a shirt of some sort and then put the same piece on someone and its a mirror image, the bustier girls like Anna and nina will have the exact same as anyone else who can equip it. Half the characters in the custom screen use their fighting stance, the other half gets this generic unfinished pose. Call it perverted but when a character like nina, who is probably the bustiest, has the breast physics of jun (none) it just looks weird. Every shirt is the same generic no breast physics (I say this not perverted, fact is, boobs bounce) and makes everyone box chested. The lower equipment on dudes makes them look straight out of gears of war with the huge boots etc, also lazily ported over to every male in the game. Still don't believe me? Miharu wears nail polish, she only has it on in her default.... Because the other are the same recycled body type.
TLDR: doa won't be given a chance
Tekken is visually lazy, unappealing
I agree with Marth FE fully. I'm not bashing TT2 at all. But it's visually not appealing with good gameplay. I feel DOA5 has both.
@MarthFE You prove a good point, heck these people are new generation of lazy people that wanted serve to them or doesn't even want a challenge. Theres nothing to treat their lifes as if everything in life is unfair, and is forced to change their ways. To be honest I would say that all fighting games are not meant to be competitive including Street Fighter & Tekken etc., the way of be competitive is the player themselves. Heck even the people can't even form an opinion is the person without a soul. Heck even video games in its own right should be education because its related to history. Heck I even had problem with Tekken Tag 2 myself for it lacking plenty of certain verity, and felt like a downgrade from Tekken 6.
That stage reminds me of the DOA3 beach stage... <_<"
& That Kokoro/Helena/Kasumi Bikini!! ♥
@29
You can say that the females... aren't females.
lol random coconut is back
This trailer was not as bad as the last one; there are guys mixed in here (Lol Scuba Bayman is so fitting) and focuses more on the actual fighting and the new features of the game (The Replay stuff) . Keep up the good work Team Ninja ^-^
I can say the same thing about soul calibur 5. While I love the gameplay more than sc4 (having supers and such is cool, sc4 was a lot harder to learn and play). They killed off a lot of the best characters to add boring generic ones, half of them stealing their older counterparts style. And graphically sc5 is a downgrade from sc4. It may not seem like it, but pop in one and then the other and you'll see it.
There's even obvious things you can notice, like in sc4 character select it showed the actual character model and costume with voice when you picked a character, sc5 it shows a card.... That's it...
The detail on the characters was greater in sc4 as well. And aside from a few awesome additions like tattoos, make-up/scars, control over each limb size, eyebrows, faces.... The clothing in sc5 is pretty bad. Plenty of stuff LOOKS cool, but when you put it on you get a LOT of clipping with most items (when clothing and such goes through items), half of the items aren't compatible with other items (which they probably wouldn't clip half as bad as other things anyway). And if you look at some hats and shirts, they should be next to paper-thin, being clothing, but look at the edges/rims of shirt and hats. I never knew a shirt could be an inch or two thick, makes hats look like helmets they're so thick... Once again, laziness.
It only bothers me because games have been looking better, as they should be... But these are successors to their many year older predecessors. Graphically they should look the same, if not better. But instead they look worse.
The stage textures in doa5 are pretty bad up close... But from far away they look great, that's how it's meant to be. When you play a racing game the focus is on your car, which is why developers put so much effort into the look of the cars and a lot less on the scenery, since you pass it quickly.
With fighting games the focus should be on the characters, since that's what you see most and pay most attention to. They should look the best. In doa, that's the focus, always has been.
Ttt2 and sc5 have beautiful stages... But the characters/clothing are lacking.
Funny thing is in tournaments usually only a very select few stages are used, the effort is wasted on stages.
I do have to say, umvc3, not the highest poly character models but the characters and stages both have amazing animation and quality, and it always looks great... Colourful, smooth.
why there are a lot of guys trying so hard to make a point on customization or visual features when talking about a FÛCKING FIGHTING GAME is beyond me. If I want to play a game, I'd just play the damn game period. It's a fighter title after all; customization should be a feature, not the entire focus of it. My suggestion for them is to go look somewhere else if such things are that important, because seems like they're completely missing the point.
And now the whole "DoA is all T&A blahblahblah I'm a hypocrite". Dudes, you all pay attention only to what you want to. If we were really that interested in gameplay we should have been looking for tourney footage instead of coming here and bitch about anything related to this. Jus' sayin'
So much butthurt from the boobs or alive defense force..it's cute.
@ehubs staff: I realize that this game is pretty irrelevant, terrible and forgettable, but you guys consider giving it it's own category so i can remove it from games I see on here? I'd love to filter this sexist game but I'm having the same issue as Doopliss. Thanks in advance.
There are people complaining about TTT2 customs? Seriously? Setting aside the awesome (and time-consuming) work they had done balancing the roster and updating many old characters and moves, the game's DECALS are beast. You can make everybody look like somebody on that thing.
Not only that, they are basically free. Not to bash DOA customs but to have them means you gotta pay almost more than $60, much more of a ripoff than SFxT. But hey, people love skimpy outfits so yeah...
@45
lol butthurt? They give a lot of legitimate reasons, unlike yourself, who you just so happen to be incapable of disdaining from things like this. Also the fact that you're clearly just as sexist. XD
I'm not defending doa, hell if you don't wanna play it then don't, doesn't affect me.
Sorry Xanderglz, it seems you're the one missing the point, yes customization is more of an add-on, your own personal way to make the characters you play be more unique from everyone else, especially if you're an online player where you'll bump into many others. And I do agree, it's not the main focus. However before the game launched I recall namco bragging about the customization features and such, which if you're gonna speak so highly of something, you better deliver (think sfxtk launch and how they hyped it, only to release a Poopsicle of a game). Not to mention when it falls short compared to a prequel made years ago. Ttt2 has an amazing system, I'm not gonna avoid playing it and I won't deny it's a great game. The roster is magnificent. But as a customer and game developer, when i know the company had potential for so much more but I see that they cut corners instead and tried to mask it with other things, it bothers me. If you don't mind spending your hard earned cash for a game the makers took shortcuts in because people don't notice, or maybe you just don't care which is fine, then be my guest. Fact is its a great game, but it should have been better. If not for laziness or lack of interest in developing that part of the game, it would have been.
I don't believe doa falls into the category of sexist. Rather than explain to people who couldn't give a turd what I say but for some reason are still reading it, I'll only say to check the definition. Perverted maybe, everyone has some dirt in their mind, but sexist no.
Graphics don't make a game good, but they do matter. It's a combination of both. Nobody wants to play a game that doesn't work, and nobody wants to play a game that isn't visually appealing or looks like crap.
On a side note, if it means supporting a game and game company I like, throw me dlc in the form of customs, characters, stages, I'll pay. Heck I don't even mind the sfxtk fiasco, not a smart idea, but what's done is done. I'll get it and move on hoping they learn based on complaints. If the sales are there but they hear consumers complaining they know they can make even more money by doing it right. But if the sales aren't there then why even try to do another one (sequel, dlc, free content or anything)
#12 I don't know how is the customization for DOA, but the only way you can say TTT2 is subpar is if it's compared to Soul Calibur's. TTT2 customazation is good, because of the decals. I have made some kickass costumes for my characters with it and I'm still unlocking items from Ghost Battles. One of its downfall is the unique itmes for characters like on T5 and T6, I totally agree with #15 about this. What they need now is the layers for the outfits like: underwear, shirt, armor, feet, arms, head and items similar to what SCV did.
Im just glad that Tekken games have character customization. An update would be nice but at the same time I'm not demanding it.
Hell!!! Even when I criticized SFXT Color Edit for being to simple, I still am having fun changing the colors for my teams.
I just find it ironic that people who don't play DOA are the ones who keep on shouting that the game is sexist. Yes, I do agree that TN is marketing this game wrong but the female DOA gamers do not mind. Last time I watched a stream, there are more female (minor) tourney goers for DOA than Marvel or SF. Guess which FG community is more sexist...
@54 We're talking about the game, not the communities for the game genius. I've played 4 and 5, series is sexist. Anyone that disagrees is part of the DOA defense force and is a blind fanboy that wants to defend their tits. End of story. This discussion is over.
#55
Pretty much
"If you don't see things my way on what X game is, then you are {insert insult of choice here}" Yeah.., No thats not how things work when judging a game moron
LOL Oh boo~ Hoo~ about your filtering issue. Want some great advice? Don't Click the article and ignore it and move on with your miserable day. Oh but you can't, Got to add in the obligatory comment about boobs since DoA has boobs and everything else in Modern Media doesn't apparently:)
@ I think your using "sexist" wrong. Sexist means to discriminate or be prejudice, or stereotyping. DOA is not discriminating the DOA girls or stereotyping them as weak or sex victims. They are just promoting sex sales. if we consider that as sexist, then I guess the entire market industry is consider sexist...
The girls are just portrayed in poor taste.
Really, just to mention a few, SF4 has cammy, yuri, UMVSC3 has felicia, morrigan, KOF has mai, Skullgirls well, more less everyone, TTT2 has bikinis and what not, SC5 has Ivy and custom size boobies, and so on, yet only DOA5 is sexist, sure, how hypocritical.
For me the only problem of DOA5 is that it has arrived last in this hardware gen. Everyone is already playing probably two or more fighters so we have our hands full of great fighters, DOA5 doesn't have a big fanbase so it's going a bit under radar for almost everyone, still it's a great fighter and it's a pity no more people plays it, though lately to my surprise it's rather busy online, and the patch plus Vita crossplay will only help.
@56
That's beautiful, you just made my day... I was trying not to be rude but its hilarious and it seems to get the point through thick headed fools... Thick heads. Well put though, props to ya.
Either way, 56, 57 and 58 pretty much sum up what I was trying to say. And it's not even opinion, eat the facts, don't be so ignorant and stupid. You throw the word "sexist" around without even knowing what it means
I'm pretty sure the patch solved some of the online issues, I'm sure that will bring in more people. It may not boom but the community has time to grow.
@51, 59:
Fair enough, dude. As a customer, you're looking for that "plus" in a game to make you turn your head and look at it. That's your personal preference and there's nothing wrong with that. I still wanted to point out the gameplay itself is what should matter in a fighting game, not the customization features. Maybe I have low standards when it comes to purchase, IDK.
@56, @59:
I bet both of you guys a blowjob from FChamp and a kiss in the cheek from Ricky this illness guy will come back and post the same "blahblahblah you disagree with me therefore you're butthurt" stuff. He always does anyway.
amg...lei-fang nearly copying chun-li's winpose....
@55 Yeah, emphasis on women's sexuality is prevalent in alot of places. I remember an article on Soul Calibur 5 before the game came out showing the breast cup sizes of the female characters in that game. But DOA gets the attention now.
@54 yeah that was me. Either way it doesn't matter what it regards, ignorance is ignorance. Chances are, dumb topic or not, this wouldn't be the only thing they're ignorant towards. But that doesn't matter, we're talking about the topic here.
Well tell me where I'm wrong. Because last time I checked the 3 posts are true. 1, people do have the power to completely avoid coming in here if its of none of their interest, true. 2, tell me the definition of sexist, it won't be very different from what has already been stated. 3, plenty of games use sexual material, not excluding fighters, and it's even listed in the age ratings. 4, more of an opinion I suppose but the game did come really late especially compared to all the other fighters we've received.
@xanderglz I was never bashing on you. Lets just say I do care about gameplay, probably a lot more than graphics and features given it doesn't look like crap. But when something like ttt2 comes along I still buy it, but I look for that something that tells me I should play it over tekken 6, or since tekken isn't a fav of mine anymore, why I should play it over doa, mvc3, bb, or anything. Especially when it's hard to learn and constantly keep your earned skill in all fighters. In a case where I'm interested in other games over tekken, to have customization beyond tekken 6, while still looking great may motivate me to learn tekken, maybe over doa or sfxtk and just play them casually.
Also, you won a blowjob, find FChamp and collect.
On topic, the stage looks great in game. I personally find bikinis boring and would rather have something... Cooler, more thought put into it, some badass stuff. You can only do so much with a bikini..... Or in this case, so little. And the guys need more stuff.... Also less recolours.... Ok I'm done.
